Because I have no Idea what BFS stands for... I can only imagine.. Best Friends sleepover.. Boring Frame Section.. Best Female secretary... and I have way to many other games that i need to play, so one more game will probably not hurt my Vita.. or would it..? I can´t think of a reason Why I shouldn´t be entitled to a bfs vita.. I live in the EU. The most expensive part of EU.. but I have not seen any light since my curtains fell down last year..

ehhh...

It stands for boyfriend, if i'm not mistaken.

Anyhow, congratulations Tamaster, it certainly took some time! :P

EDIT:

For some reason, I keep seeing Mêlee Islands forest in it...

So amazon continues to be amazing. I don't know if you guys were following the PC sale thread but they were giving out about $25 total in credit for various shitty F2P games for every game you bought on the sale. Last night it turns out some people were able to get customer service to transfer that to normal game credit. I had just under $100 in total whereas others has 200 or even 300.

I wasn't successful in my attempt to convert it but today I got an email saying the $20 I had for the editor's choice list expired so they gave me $20 in normal credit to replace it. So I just got Dynasty Warriors Next for $8! I figure even if it's not as good as the recent console games it has to be worth $8.

Kind of the same boat. I have some credit to spend on a vita game and really want to give P4G a shot. I feel like it will be too text heavy for my liking....

I haven't gotten very far so all I can warn you about is that the game is like most japanese rpgs in that it's very talk heavy for the first few hours. Most of it is voiced although you can set the text to hyper speed and fly through most of it if you don't want to listen to the voices (probably a good thing whenever Chie talks).

I want to get P4G... Just afraid I'm going to be totally lost in it. New to that type of game, seems complex.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa, what?! Is it the Amazon PC deal thread? I have a bunch of credit I could convert. You know if customer service is still doing this?

I doubt they'll do it now. It's one of those things where you have to be one of the first to try it out because once the tactic starts spreading around the internet and to places like slickdeals then customer service catches on and they put a stop to it. Like I said I tried it last night and they wouldn't do it. They only refunded my $20 in editor's choice games that expired, the other $80 in F2P crap I still have.

It can't hurt to try though as the worst that can happen is they explain what the credit is for. At least I ended up with $20 I could use instead of only using it for games I had no interest in.

Persona is certainly text heavy, no doubt about it. Not going to sugarcoat it: if you don't traditionally like JRPGs then there is certainly a chance you may not take to P4G. However, you could end up enjoying the high school shenanigans and murder mystery plot of P4G anyway. The game has this charm and lightheartedness that most people fall in love with, so it's worth a shot.

Went to Gamestop to pickup Sonic and All-Stars Racing

GS worker: "It's not out until February"
Me: "But it's out on PSN and your competitors Amazon and Newegg are selling it"
GS Worker: And I quote "I don't know dude GS never got it"

I was in the area and wanted the game so I stopped in. Boy was that a mistake. It's sad that GS represents the majority of video game retail sales.

Dating sim... seems complex...

Fusion isn't complex if that's what you're talking about. Read Igor's explination (or don't) and just start fusing. Unlike the terrible JRPG that is Vagrant Story, SMT's fusion system doesn't screw you over (outside of Fusion Failures, but those are rare) to where you can continue to progress so long as you are smart about strength/weaknesses in the Persona's (get a Persona to absorbe/null Bufu/Ice damage, beat Ice-strong boss) you aren't screwed and continue to progress.

My biggest problem with P4G is that it isn't out until the end of feb in Europe, and by then I'll have Ni No Kuni on PS3 taking up my time.

Same here. Never played a Persona game before, but the hype is making me crack.

it is text-heavy, but it really isn't that confusing. you're solving a murder over the course of like 50-60 hours, so it's not like you're finding out a bunch of information all at once.

there is a lot of extraneous detail that offers depth, but it's not core to playing the game (at least on the easy difficulty setting, which i am on). i am in the end of december (somewhat near the end of the game, 50 hours in). the story is really addicting. there are even gameplay elements that you can ignore on this difficulty, so the gameplay isn't overly daunting in its complexity either. there are skill cards you can use and earn in battle that i haven't touched once.

i was really nervous about being overwhelmed, and probably was for the first hour because i didn't know how the game worked, so i suggest just asking a lot of questions in the persona 4 thread and people will let you know. it seemed far more scary complex than it really was.

Real Racing looks nice but as you mentioned
Coming from someone that hasn't touched those games, do they really? Because Gaf also said many times NFS:MW "looked nice" on iDevices, and not only it looks like a PS2 game, it runs like PS2 NFSs too (unstable 20fps on iPad3), and don't get me started on the controls.
Sure it cost 1$ for holliday sale, but it still feels ill-spent.

Well in case of ios/android games you usually get what you paid for ;)

So, are you mad because they don't carry the game, or because he called you dude?

Just played Gravity Rush for an hour. The whole gravity thing is very disorientating xD Gonna take some time to get the whole stopping in space, turn, start going again down , I can do it but a very slowly (I can just about get bronze on the challenges)

But the game looks nice at least, love the look of Raven from the glimpses I've got here and there. The dialouge is text which isn't my thing, I'd of preferred some voice acting and cutscenes, though the comic book style cutscenes are nice with the added tilt-depth.

One niggle I have is that I can't invert the tilt directions separately of the analogue stick =/

Any tips vita gaf before I hop back on it a bit later or tomorrow?

Are their difficultly level trophies in P4G? I still haven't popped the damn thing in my vita what with my Kings Story complex but Im curious....

Nope. You can get every single trophy on the easiest setting if you want to, though one trophy (hearing 250 Navigation Lines) is hard to get if you're too overleveled. Upon unlocking New Game+ you can even customize your own difficulty level, setting how much money, xp, damage you do, damage you receive and even if you want to allow battle retries if you die. Be aware that two trophies are only unlockable on New Game+ and you need to have gotten the true ending on the previous playthrough to access them.

Set the gyro sensitivity all the way up! Level-up and practice makes perfect. Sucked at it for the first five hours but while playing you steadily become better and better at shifting.
But don't feel bad if it takes a while. It is indeed pretty disorientating at first ;)

This and don't laugh but play in a swivel chair with room to spin around completely. Lol makes for a fun experience.

Hmmm, I platinumed the game and didn't even know you could use gyro. I'm guessing it doesn't matter much if you get used to the controls. :D

Haha, but yeah you're right! Works like a charm.
They should put that on the box, swivel chair not included :D

There's a rival to Kid Icarus Uprising on Vita? Please tell me which is cuz I could really use another handheld g.o.a.t.

Kid Icarus: Uprising is probably one of my favourite games ever. But yes I would consider Gravity Rush a rival to Kid Icarus. I'd say KI:U takes the crown, but that having been said Gravity Rush comes damn close, it's beautiful.

I wish I could format my copy of AC:L and use the cart as a memory card.

lol, how mean. I totally would love to buy a cheap copy of Dungeon Hunters or whatever to do that with, though :p
