Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

So after having this 16GB card for almost a week, I've mustered the time (and courage) to backup my 8GB. About 30 minutes to back this up doesn't seem so bad on a USB 2.0 connection.

Aside from that, is there a way to restore my Trophies locally without having to start up each individual game?

That's what I thought too but I think I read Iacobellis mentioning it helped with his issues with the Left trigger. Haven't tried it myself but worth a shot I guess if it's really noticeable.

[If you move your finger around while holding the trigger buttons they can disengage/stop registering, best to keep them still :/ - but it seems some people might have more serious issues with them - give it a go with the screw driver loosening/tightening... )

I never actually tried it, sorry for the confusion! I might down the line if the triggers get any weak like the analog sticks are becoming.

It's sad when the retail versions are always cheaper than the digital one.

stores having games like Unit13,FIFA,MarvelvsCapcom,Lego Batman and other older games for dirt cheap now but the PS store is doing nothing to let people pick the digital versions or lower the prices to match them, completely bad/incompetent digital service right here.

Not only Vita games, this situation is worse for PSP since UMDs are dirt cheap but most of the PSP games on the PS store are in full price, even the very very old titles, I've made a list some many months ago and sadly nothing major got changed from it.

Sony really need to learn many things from Steam.

Oh that's a different problem from mine. My R button doesn't register a tap about 15-20% of the time when I'm playing Gravity Rush.

Something wrong here, ask Sony to replace the unit for you.

^ Sony says publishers set the price, I don't know how they could miss the big difference in a lot of the prices so I used to think either Sony is pushing them to try and maintain some retail sales... But that sort of falls apart when you think about PS3 as their prices are often much higher than retail even in Europe so I think it's probably a mix but I feel like there is some "they can pay for the priviledge/convenience" going on by someone.

Toto posted a youtube video that didn't seem to just be about the squeaking so you may have been onto something - didn't get to watch it with sound but the comments seemed positive...

I have the hardest time in Big Sky Infinity determining what I can and what I can't fly through.

Took me a while too..well worth sticking with imo, does feel rewarding and I can definitely see myself improving (great stat system for average scores and comparisons (after every play) and publishes new high scores on activity feed as well).

Hope they sort it for you soon, corrosivefrost.

That doesn't seem bad to you? That is fucking horrible levels of slowness right there.

It is like Sony searched the streets high and low for the slowest flash storage they could find.

Thought I was the only one, mine is atrocious only thing that is not great for me, ruins ac3l and gr, I am going to have to replace my vita at some point, it really is aggravating...

I think I'm going to try and put up with it until a new Vita comes out. I probably overestimated the percentage there because it definitely doesn't happen every 1 in 5 taps. Most games probably won't use the R button anywhere near as much as GR did so I'll try to deal with it for now. Getting a refurbished Vita not even a month in is depressing.

if it hasn't been a month yet, return it to the store and exchange it.

not sure about that because when looking at how Sony do their revisions lately (PSP street, PS3 Super Slim) and the need for it to be "cheaper" more than anything else, the Vita revision will most likely be trash quality wise. (and maybe they will give you a brand new one who know).

Is it just me or is JSR really fucking terrible?

I keep trying to beat stage 2 or 3 and on stage 2 I can't get on the crane to grind for the life of me. :( Not only that, there seems to be 2 more tags I have no idea where they are, even with the map. :(

JSR is trash, don't even get my started on the tutorial.

I really feel like I dodged a bullet here. I was so close to buying it based on the constant praise it gets, but I held off. Seems like a wise move.

They should've ported Jet Set Radio Future(aka the good one).

Good grief...Is VitaGaf so different from wider Gaf? Really eager to replay JSR and see whether it's just my rose-colored glasses. But it can't be....

I'm going to ride it out and hope it doesn't get worse. I could be hitting it wrong too, who knows. Seems like the top corner is the worst so I'll try to keep my finger low.

It's horrible and not fun to play at all. I'm glad it was free with + because I was going to buy it.

It's not terrible, but its gameplay is extremely outdated, and with that, negatives that were overlooked because of when it released are very apparent. JSRF supposedly fixes almost all of JSR's problems.

The crane is grindable, but trying to grind it by jumping from the rails is just an exercise in frustration. What I did at that stage was immediately go to the crane area, climb up the crane by jumping, then doing a very short turbo boost and grinding the crane. It should give you just enough momentum if you continuously jump while grinding to make it to the other side and get the huge tag there.

Seems like a lot of people who loved it back when it released are playing it again and not liking the controls at all. I didn't even take to JSRF though, so going back even further was out of the question regardless of how much it's revered.

Maybe, but it also introduces a ton of its own.

...Well that's new.

My Vita just got a black error screen saying "The Vita has encountered a problem. The system will be turned off" or some such.

First game I completely finished and finally could throw off my memory card:

Virtues Last Reward (I was done like.. 2 weeks ago but my gf was playing through it still).

Feels good, man.

Now I really want to finish AC, just so I can delete it, lol (I liked it, but god damn 3GB). I am right in DNA 7, how much longer to go story wise?

How replayable is Stranger's Wrath HD?

There are a few collectibles, but eeeh. Its a 15 hour action adventure in a great and unique setting with some interesting mechanics. Thats what you'll get from the title.
Except if you like replaying games on a harder difficulty setting, the hard difficulty should be quite a challenge.

-> off to bed, trying to finish AC

there are
8
sequences I believe. Could be one more, not so sure.

I liked it at the time, and I still do. Of course, I have literally yelled at the game multiple times but I still have a blast being in that setting, and it looks great on Vita.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale's credit sequence is about as long as the game's title, and arcade mode length.

Playing that on your trip? :)

I'm not sure if it is worth the $20 at GameStop. I'd much rather play SFxT or wait until next year once developers can really maximize the hardware. Should I?

Shit, someone should time that credit sequence. I just watched it all for the first time, and the thing's like 10 minutes at minimum. Unit 13 had a trophy for watching the credit sequence (I guess Zipper did that as a goodbye, or something) and this game should have a gold trophy for it, lol. Oddly, High Impact Games helped with developing the Ratchet stuff, not Insomniac according to the credits. High Impact Games made the PSP Ratchet games ...

As for All-Stars itself, I'd say $20 is a fair price for it. The game's a lot of fun, but there's a lot holding it back. A text book example of a 7/10 game.

Seeing how easy the rest of the trophies in PSASBR, I would not have been surprised if that were in the game. I can't believe you had the patience to sit through it.

A 7 is not bad in my book, but something I would be a little weary of. I still have a backlog of games that started to accumulate since September, and with PS+ it will just get worse. :/

I watch the credits with my baby cousin and it put him to sleep lol.

Speaking of trophies, did anyone else think it was really weird there was a trophy for beating the game on Legendary, but not one for beating it on All Star?

Just bought Most Wanted. Good lord is it gorgeous. I strapped on my Elite Pulse Headset and just melted into the fast paced racing and stellar soundtrack.

All I'll say about ps all stars now is that I'm glad I got it for free instead of buying it. Decent game but really shallow.

Also about that R button thing it only happens in AC3:L any other game it should work fine.

P.S. did you watch those videos?

The soundtrack is Ok but luckily you can play your own music in the background, you can even skip using the rear touch!

What are you guys going to pick up on Vita next week? At least Stranger's Wrath HD and Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed for me, but Knytt Underground is looking very compelling to me as well.

Edit:...well, last post of the page. Maybe somebody will see this question.
