Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

No, because tamaster's youtube account is "MRtamaster" and has a male voice, and here he was talking about a bf, so I was confused if that was the bf or tamaster, and I don't want to use the wrong pronoun. No need to get all defensive...

Well, you can only have one activated psn account per vita, so unless he's playing on your account, he can't play them on his vita.

I reckon ill grab a 4gb to let him mess around on Xmas day and Boxing Day then grab a 32gb later that week :)

Can't wait to play with him. What's some good co op games?

Edit : Ooo top of page!

I recommend you all buy;

MBA, surge, velocity, strangers wrath, gravity rush, wipeout 2048, motorstorm RC, NFS:most wanted and many more!

Sometimes misters have boyfriends. Sometimes misses have girlfriends.

Huh, you are correct. Put in my other memory card, and no files.

Perhaps it was to save money on production, because the US one will sell less? Or maybe it's just because the US one is cheaper to buy.

As an aside, it seems the game just won't run with no memory card inserted.

It's not only US version. asian version (chinese and korean) requires additional memory for save too.

It boggles my mind since US version doesn't have voice actor commentaries, thus should have more storage option.

Okay here's the list of things I own for Secret Santa. I have a PS3, so I can transfer stuff from there if necessary. Also since my US account is secondary to my main UK account, can whoever gets me not get me any Vita games, and stick to PS1 and PSP only thanks :)

so what I am getting is the person that gets you should just get you Grandia... as it's a jrpg and you don't seem to own it for some weird reason :P

I think almost all of it is usable but I am not 100% sure

I don't like Sony JRPGs, I think?
I hated Legend of Dragoon...

Yeah, looking at gameplay, I can see why I never gave it a chance. :)

^^^ I think it's too small for that at the moment.

Well, if you're difficult to buy for, I'm not the only one. In the very least I can take solice in gifting someone a good game. ;)

I imagine unit 13 would be fun co op with someone in the same room. With a random on the web it was a bit crap though. However with someone you know who you could talk to I imagine would provide a much nicer experience.

Also god eater burst must be awesome co op as single player was fantastic even with bots. Its a psp game but still.

I'm playing dungeon hunter and its pretty fun. If you can find it cheap then, again, that could be pretty fun co op as well. Its a Gameloft game and has no soul but its a fun enough dungeon explorer loot fest.

it was just published by sony it's a game arts game (people who made Lunar)

Oh. That makes it worse.
I preordered the $70 version of Lunar back in the day cause I loved Final Fantasy games and thought "oh, hey, it's like a Final Fantasy and I dig the anime artstyle." I played it for a few hours and immediately traded it. :)

Unit 13 and lbp could be fun :) some cod too I'm sure!

Ragnarok is due in feb in UK right?

If Unit 13 is coming to plus, get him a PS+ sub. Then you can both play Unit 13 for cheap! :D

You just became a Vitabro! :)
You joined the sisterhood. now buy Persona 4 Golden.
Gave yourself a wonderful present.
Welcome to the fold.
I'm all cool about it now, my valve money came in a while ago so I had cash lying around :P What better to buy then games with game money! Since you guys seem to be in the know, does this vita come with a 4gb card? It doesn't seem to mention it but I thought all bundles came with one.

I have actually done the same. It will be here on Wednesday. #YOLO
Brothers for life yo.

You're horrible. :)

I do what I can with what I was given. ^_^

Brothers for life yo.

If it's just a regular Wifi Vita console only, no card, which is pretty much the best thing that could ever happen to you.
You will never know the chains of a mere 4gb unless you decide to go that route on your own.

At the very least, take the cost of a 4gb and get a 16gb, though I heartily recommend a 32gb myself.

You might get more participants if you post a separate thread. If you want them.

I actually dont. Its more of a small thank you to the participants in the Vita GAF community, i.e. this thread instead of being a huge happening.

Besides, the more people participate, the more people I need to PM(One PM every 30 seconds guys... Made a tournament with 60 people once. Not fun) and higher chances of someone opting out right before so that someone is left without a present.

secret santa should have a separate thread.

I'm still surprised we're allowed this thread. I though we'd have been moved to community long ago

I accept I might not get a game I really want. I looked through Gamestop's entire listing and only found 3-4 games that might actually be useful for me. I don't mind though since it's all in good fun. I'm more thinking whether if I can succeed in getting an appropriate game!

hmmm it also seems that you are lacking chrono cross (which is sold by gamestop) I am guessing you had some sort of problem with that one despite being the best chrono game (you heard me trigger fans :P)

I'm lacking a couple good PSOne games by Square, actually.
Chrono Cross, Xenogears (never played it), Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI (the last two because I know the load times for random battles on PSOne were atrocious, so I never bought the digital copies for PSOne... not sure if Vita/PS3 emulation fixed that or not).

Chrono Cross was excellent. I don't know that it could replace the ranking of Chrono Trigger, but I liked the game, I liked the story, I liked the sheer amount of characters and I just plain liked it. Hadn't re-bought it because I wasn't in a hurry to play it and didn't want to drop $10 in my flurry of purchases when PSOne games became playable on Vita (not sure it was in the inital "it will transfer" batch either).

There's some other RPGs in there that's I've considered too that I've never played but liked their predecessors (*cough*BoF*cough*).

And since I never owned a PSP, I'm looking and seeing there's probably a decent amount of games there that may be worthwhile... I've been buying the $5 ones on a whim just because they look decent (The Red Star and Strikers 1945 Plus, for example. Prinny! too.)

Same. I figure I'm doing it more in the chance of giving someone something good in the spirit of the season...
Though I do recall being rather pissed when I gave someone a rather nice gift on Steam (Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, maybe? I'm pretty sure it was on his/her wishlist too...) to have them return the favor by gifting me Dear Esther. Ugh. I still refuse to add that to my library. It's sitting around waiting to be regifted at the moment, I think. :lol

i need to get around to playing xenogears myself. For me my list that I own ps1 wise would be tiny because I just got them physically instead. I will likely have to pick up chrono cross at some point assuming it plays smoothly on the ps3/vita I know for a fact that the physical copy plays like garbage on the ps3 after you reach the pirate ship.... that area causes a lot of freezes as well as an underwater area... so I am hoping the digital version doesn't have those issues.... or at least doesn't on the vita.

I'm still surprised we're allowed this thread. I though we'd have been moved to community long ago

I honestly don't get why this thread isn't in the community section as it really does just feel like vitagaf (a community) in here, but w/e you get more fresh faces in non community.

That's good, was going to mention it but for some reason I thought you wouldn't like it. LBP and PSASBR would be the fun ones. Perhaps NFS:MW but haven't gotten a chance to try in co-op. Lumines wouldn't be bad either.

Oh yeah NFS too.

Might import edf as well now it's psn only in USA.

Lumines isn't multiplayer is it?

Damn, I forgot my phone in the kitchen(2 stories downstairs), just about to sleep and can't be bothered to go get it, DAMN YOU Sony where is Wake up club when I need it.

Did the first puzzle/starting area on VLR. I like it but it was very talky...unnecessarily talky. It's a problem I've had in some genres of japanese games for a long time now. Like I'm pretty sure the 2 characters in that scene said "what's going on" to each other in some form or another at least 5 times with a bit of rambling dialogue in between each one that got us nowhere plot-wise, not even background character information.

Small complaint for now I guess. Hopefully it's not like that the entire time.

There was a thread about definitive PSP RPG's that were compatible with Vita. But I've looked for a while and can't find it.

Does anyone have the link?

Posting for those you didn't want to believe me and are looking to buy a rock solid 30fps Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed tomorrow:

It’s not as if this visual downgrading has any noticeable improvement on performance, either. Quite the contrary, in fact: we noticed more frame-rate hits on the Vita version of Transformed than any of the console versions, while the poor lighting in some areas led to a few unavoidable mishaps while racing.

(IGN's review from the OT) - http://uk.ign.com/articles/2012/12/17/sonic-all-stars-racing-transformed-vita-review

It's still decent but manage expectations, for happier gaming.

Welcome to japanese games in general. JRPG's are equally awful, that's the main reason I bailed out of the genre; I can't stand it anymore. I wonder how come I had the patience as a teenager.

Aveline is badass too.

really want to see another AC game from Sofia (Highly unlikely tho)I think they can do a better job next time with more development time and since they know the hardware now, and if Ubi give them more freedom with AC universe it will be even better to see their new ideas.

I dunno, Aveline isn't a terrible character but given the really disjointed (even the "Erudito cuts" don't really help) story, it's hard to say her strength as a character.

Really, that besides the framerate is the biggest issue of AC3:Liberation: The damn story is hard-to-follow.

Yeah I don't think it's something I really noticed when I was younger. But growing up and being in really advanced English/literature classes in high school and college kind of makes it hard to not notice. It's a wonder I'm able to put up with any video game story now lol.
