Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

Two things I have to complain about - unless you've played EDF you have NO right to complain about the price, and Virtua Tennis 4 turns from good game to complete bullshit when you're winning in tournaments.
I think I have the right to complain about any price I feel like for any platform.

If you reactivate it you have back your games and your money, you can check it on the online Playstation Store ^^

So nothing bad happened when I deactivated? Yay! So do I have to deactivate the accounts when I want to switch now? Or do I press no on that part?

You mean switch between two account (Us-Pal)? Always deactivate previous then login with new one username band password

Yeah, you always need to deactivate your Vita when switching accounts 'cause if you try and use a memory card that is tied to a different account, I'm pretty sure your Vita explodes into a thousand splotches.

If you're switching cards and just flip flopping between a couple of your own accounts, then you don't need to deactivate

Ok thanks! Cause it says something like: you won't be able to deactivate again if you do it now or something like that.

Really? So which is it? Lol I'm confused :(

I'm interested as well because I plan to buy another memory card to use multiple psn accounts (I need a US one for decent PSOne games). So according to this IGN video demostration these should be the steps:

1) with your first memory card on synch your trophies with the server so you don't lose any when removing the memcard;
2) remove the memcard;
3) vita tells you it needs to be rebooted and does that automagically;
4) when rebooting is finished you have to go to settings and do format - restore ps vita
5) [apparently very important step] choose YES when asked to deactivate your account. if you don't you won't be able to deactivate it later, whatever that means;
6) system reboots. when it's finished it asks you if you already have a PSN account. here you need of course to insert the second account for your second memcard you want to use.
7) when you pop in the second memcard system needs to restart again (jeez). then you have to go to settings again, playstation network, and find the setting to activate your psvita again (this time it ties it to the new account, that's why you had to deactivate it in the fifth step i guess).
8) enjoy.

Looks bothersome to have to do this everytime, especially since I'd like a memcard only for PSOne games but I already loathe the idea to have to wait all this time to switch accounts. Maybe I'll just buy another Vita later on :3

So step 7 is while you have the JP account memory stick you want to use in the system? Then I go to settings and activate? Or is step 7 for when you have your US account stick back in?

You really don't need to deactivate the account if you are going to be flipping often. All deactivating the account will do is free up a system activation (you can have two portables), which you probably don't need if you will be flipping accounts often.

THAT'S what I needed to hear! thanks Kyle you're the best as per ;__;

FINALLY my importing obsession can COMMENCE. I shall use the UMD Passport to finally transfer my 2 FF Type-0 UMDs :D and YAS MHP3rd in my downloaded list xD

Soul Sacrifice demo, Ys Celceta demo and Tales of Hearts R Demo downloaded.

EDIT: OMFG Soul Sacrifice is GODLY *___*

Thank goodness I'm fluent in japanese. Can't imagine you guys playing this with all the kanji cause the story is pretty great RIP. I love the Merlin name being thrown with mages being in this.

So apparently Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus 2 got announced.
(Fuck me that is a stupidly overwrought title)

Is there any hope this one will be 60-fps?
Instead on the 30fps cash grab of the original.

You're just not going to get 60 if it's going to run in 960x544 (native) + 2xaa like the original Sigma. Other games are scaling back their internal rendering resolution drastically to hit 60fps.

The Persona 4 Golden hype machine has pushed me back into the Vita camp. Just waiting for the next sale or promotion to pick one up! :D

I'm kind of disappointed in it so far. Granted I just got to the point where I can do what I want each day but the things I've done have amounted to "press X, read a few lines of text, time advances, repeat". Like I joined a sports club and I'm getting the feeling I won't actually get to play it at all, it's just there to raise a few social links.

I hope I'm wrong because this is the stuff I was looking forward to.

Erm welcome to any computer rpg ?

A crpg has great writing, multi layered quests that usually have choices involved too, and free roaming exploration. I've run into little of that in here but that's alright since that's not what I was expecting. I was led to believe the social stuff was the best part of the game.

I should stress again that the game just unlocked a lot of that stuff for me so these are only my early impressions. It could easily change I guess (I hope).

Got mine coming from playasia for less than the UK price and means not waiting until the end of February.

No idea if I'll even like the game :p

EDF next week!

Good man!

I think your opinion probably will change, I'm a bit further than you and you're yet to really experience the game properly yet. Personally I love grinding in the dungeons to doing the social links though.

I'm in this just for the sim stuff since one of the reasons I quit JRPGs is because of turn based combat. I put up with it here to see the other stuff.

Persona 4 is a visual novel, mixed with a light RPG, mixed with Pokemon.
It is not standard RPG fare at all, which is why people love it or hate it.

I'd rather they pare the graphics back to reach 60fps. Otherwise why bother really.
I don't hold much hope though, the original apparently wasn't even a stable 30fps, bleegh.

The social link stuff really expands as you get further in the game. A lot of characters you won't have met yet, and some of the other's you have met require certain events to happen. A few also require certain level stats in Courage and what not.

Haven't played Golden, but it's probably even more time constrained than the original, meaning you are not gonna get near all Social Links in the first playthrough

You know you're supposed to
run from the Ultimate Being/winged Ultimate Being to the ships Galley to set up to blow,
right?

Wait, I thought that was in its 4th form? I fought the baby, then the winged thing that split apart, and the one after that keeps getting me.

I guess I just want to know if the sim stuff evolves to become interactive at all. Like on the 1st day I was able to do what I wanted I chose to go to the library and raise my knowledge and all that happened was a couple lines of text and it was over. And I already explained the first day of joining the sports club was the same way. At this point it seems like "time management-the game" and that's all I have to focus on.

There is no sim stuff, where did you get that impression from?

It isn't really. Increasing the social links with party characters gives them more battle moves.
Increasing the social links with everyone else lets you make better Persona.

Thats not what he means. hes looking for things like blitzball when you actually do the social link. Not sure where he got that idea from though. Its a shame because when you build up an entirely different game in your head then what it is you are of course going to be disappointed no matter how good the game is for what it really is.

I got that idea from Gaf. I didn't think this place would hype up the social stuff as the best part of "one of the best rpgs ever" if there wasn't any interaction involved in it. So I guess the writing must be the thing that's impressing them and I already know that's a dead end since it's normal jrpg writing so far.

You have been listening to the wrong people I'm afraid.

The story is ok, a bit middling, but the characters are entertaining.

The main draw is the interplay between the real world time management and the fantasy world battling and persona collecting.

Think of it like a harder Pokemon with better characters.

They're charging $40 for a digital only version of a multi-years old port?

A six year old budget title!

It does look like there's some new stuff. Jetpack lady is back in it, there's some new enemies, fifty new weapons, and seven new levels (does that mean seven new missions or areas? Probably the former, eh.)

Not enough to justify buying it at the same price I bought it six years ago.

*sigh* foiled by gaf hype again. One day I will stop listening to this place about niche japanese games. Thank god I don't have a wii anymore or I probably would have bought Xenoblade too.

Then someone lied to me.

I have been wasting valuable seconds of my life deactivating ._.
