Looks like talks are starting to bring Odallus to the Vita.

I'd buy the heck out of a new old-school Castlevania.

Fuck - the game case I ordered got posted to my old Uni address...![]()
don't you have any friends there? tell them to pick it up for you.
if not, well, maybe someone will buy a Vita to fit with the free case he/she got.
Some of them have added content, there is the portable aspect and a few (like Velocity Ultra, which is brilliant) are Sony exclusive.
A good game is a good game. I doubt a title like Killzone Mercenary is as good as Guacamelee or Hotline Miami to be honest.
I'll pass
Indies are nice if they bring new conception to the table or restart an old and forgotten genre - not when they are 5 generations behind versions of normal games.
We already got Guacameele this year and there's also Batman coming later this year.
you can always get Castlevania Chronicles or Dracula X Chronicles : )

Anyway, I was wondering if you guys have any good game recommendations for kids, specifically a 2 year old. My sons love playing with my Vita (I also have a 5 year old), but all he does is unlock the screen, start games and press the PS button to cancel them.I tried using Paint Park Plus on him to no avail. Imaginstruments keeps him for a little bit, though. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The good thing that they spend the time trolling there and they won't troll here.

Get him a Leapfrog Leappad, it is a gaming handhelds/tablet hybrid designed for small kids.
You say that...
Welcome Park, surprisingly. The rear touchpad game and camera-face thing are fun for young children. That Shahid thread...

Every single post there is some peace and quiet here. Shahid will be trolled for our sins.
Esoteric, I trained the new Nova BNB with fly, and I think that I can do farly consistently, but Sentinel fly combos have a very strict timing, so I will stick with my main combo for now. The thing is mix up a little.

For me, this is a perfect compliment to something like Guacamelee. Their brand of NES-like graphics is pretty unique, too, with the whole "shades and tones that lend a specific feel" style. It's not one that's often translated well to HD or 3D either, so that's good to see.
It's an international alternative to Kickstarter (which only officially supports UK, US, CAN I believe). It's interesting - is IndieGoGo a bit like Kickstarter?

Yes, but it allows for funding to projects that do not meet their goal.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll get one and see how it goes!Yeah, those things are pretty cool actually

@Esoteric, my older son enjoys SF X Tekken a lot. I'm probably gonna get Marvel if it goes on sale again; can I count on you and Shinriji to play against when I do? I'll likely just be apunching bag for you, though xD.
fly/unfly with nova is easy, depending on the combo. I really love the launcher, H, Fly, H, unfly, H, launcher combo. I know it can be done in the corner. not sure about mid screen.
I see - my question then is - could Sony potentially be looking at guys on Kickstarter/Indiegogo etc to offer them an alternative to crowdfunding?
I wish I knew how all these negotiations worked - but it seems odd to go after a game that is yet to reach a crowdfunding goal doesn't it?
I would love to see Sony take a million dollars or so, and invest in a bunch of small indie projects. Most of those kinds of deals are signed at GDC, IGF, or PAX though.

See this is why I wish we didn't have an "I HATE SHAHID" thread - he seems really open about the processes and thinking behind what he and his team are doing. I would LOVE to know what they think about Kickstarter etc - I asked him about Humble Bundles and he said they were "open to the idea."
"Beat the average to get PS VITA keys for these games!"
But I agree - Micosoft have invested heavily in first party software and exclusive for the One (as they should) but if Sony took that $1 million and invested in projects, kickstarters, or took a bunch of proven indies; Team Meat and the like, and said "here you go; go nuts!"
For me THAT attitude is a system seller - it would appeal very strongly to people who predominantly play on PC (like me) and spend a lot of time and money on indie games and love to see creativity in that field.
The naysayers in there aren't really worth the time and are a minority. I dig what they are doing with the indie stuff and hope they continue with it.
I know - but we had a guy who has happy to talk to us and honest about what was happening and now we don't, in part because of that thread.

I have no problem with the idea of having indie games on the Vita, but most of them simply don't appeal to me. What I want more than anything on the Vita right now is a good loot-based RPG, and that hasn't happened yet (RIP Warrior's Lair). Any developer that makes something similar will instantly have my money, no matter if it's indie or AAA.
I have Binding of Isaac on Steam, but it's just another example of an indie game I see the appeal of but don't enjoy myself. Maybe playing it with Vita dual-sticks instead of the keyboard might change my mind. :/See that's a sentiment that I understand - much for the same reason I don't care for the more typical AAA games on the system.
Binding of Isaac (when it arrives) is in a similar vein but not quite what you're looking for... Diablo on remote play will be nice though!

my son who is 4 now (very recently) absolutely loves UMvC3 on simple controls. I tried buying him games like Rayman and he won't play them. He does play Mario and is into that, but not much else will keep his interest.

use a controller. i put 29 hours into it on steam. i never got very far, but enjoyed every minute of it. when the vita version comes out i'll be all over that.
Dragon's Crown is the loot-based action rpg you're looking for.

Runic is one of those big indies, but I guess it's worth a try.Best thing to do honestly is find those indie games that interest you, and direct them to Shahid. Its what I have been doing, and have gotten largely positivw results from the devs I have contacted.
So in your case, you should direct the Torchlight guys Shahids way as qn example of loot games.
It's definitely a start. Enemy scaling is a bit of a turn-off though.Dragon's Crown is the loot-based action rpg you're looking for.
