Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

So, guys, since we are talking about practicalities concerning Vita ownership, I have a question: do you guys ever, like, clean the exterior of your Vitas? I don't mean the screen, I've been going non-nude since I got my Vita, but I haven't been as careful/smart about the rest of it, so it's gotten a bit smudgey/greasy/fingerprinty, and just wiping it with a cloth doesn't really seem to help a lot. So does anyone know of any kind of safe and reliable way of cleaning it properly and permanently?

I like to use paper towels. *GASP!* As frightening as that sounds, I usually wash my hands, dry them with a couple paper towels, and then let them sit for about 5-10 minutes, then use those. They are damp, they have good surface abrasion to break up the dirt, but they never scratch anything. I've been using this technique since GBA days, and it has never failed me. I have a microfiber cloth, but I only use that for minor blemishes. A full cleaning is different :D

I'd like to add I usually clean my Vita at least once a day. Clean meaning full wipedown. But I'm very anal about my Vita, as it's my favorite piece of tech I own. I love my 3ds, ps3 & xb360(to an extent), but I only deeply clean those suckers out once a month.

Now, on a side note, decided to finally watch a trailer for that dang blastid Terrarria a few minutes ago..I am sold for sure, day 1. Looks pretty fun, can't wait to see it all pop on dat oled.

Brining up old topics -
sorry!
for those wanting 999's story, it's best to just find a way to play the game. I am on my 3rd playthrough now, takes 5 total to get all the endings. The only way to fully get everything out of the story from a video is to have a video of all 5 playthroughs. Catching all the minor conversations has added more depth to these characters than I thought. This is something you would miss just watching a playthrough of the "true" ending. Granted, I am not on VLR yet, so I don't know the connections between the games, but still, 999 is worth your time. Especially since you NG+ sorta, and you can skip fast scroll over everything you have already seen. If I timed it right, I did my second playthrough in a little over an hour, skipping everything I possibly could.

Plus? Try saving to cloud, if no plus try backing up save wirelessly to computer or PS3.

PS+ is the easiest and certainest way.
There is a possibility that you won't be able to back up the save to your PC from the kart (I cannot remember if MK does this, I don't think it does, but UMvC3 does for certain).

I demand to know what Sony Bend are working on!!! If this is not revealed at Gamescom I will lose my mind.

Is it another Uncharted? Syphon Filter? Another Sony franchise (God of War for example)?
NEW IP perhaps??

The people demand answers. Bend is awesome.

If anyone is interested in possibly getting Runic to bring Torchlight I would suggest joining me in contacting them at Contact@runicgames.com , andd send them Shahids way. you could also contact them on twitter, personally id love to have great native vita dungeon crawler. Torchlight would fit that bill quite nicely along with Legend of Grimrock who I have also been trying to work on also.

Torchlight is super boring i had to play it in 20-30 minutes long sessions because it was unbearable otherwise

Still better than Diablo 3.

roguelike usually don't fit handheld because they require very long sessions, but I think something like Ubi's The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot can work really well because the dungeons are short (like 3 mins max) and full of social aspects.

Well Im just one person so I can only do so much, but I have been trying to seek out the devs of indie games that I love, and enjoy to see if I can help push them. It probably wont work on all of them, but I was able to find out that Chasm is coming, Magrunner might be on its way(though Focus would not give firm confirmation), and JoyMasher is now talking to Shahid about Odallus. So already some positive progress imo.

I suspect a team like Runic will need alittle bigger of a push though, and im finding out there still seem to be quite a few devs who are unaware of Sonys changed policies reguarding things like self publishing, patch fees etc. So if I can help get the games I want on thr platform I will do what I can.

So I bought New Little King's Story when it was released but never played until now. I didn't play the Wii version so this game and it's style is totally new to me and I'm loving it. Kind of reminds me a bit of Pikmin but so far I've put more hours into it than I ever did Pikmin. Only bad thing about the game is the slowdown, I've only got 12 followers right now and it's chugging pretty bad in the city area, wonder if it's going to crash when I get into the 20s, lol.

Also wanted to thank SAB CA for responding to my earlier post.

Yeah the slowdown is a shame. The game never locked up on me though, even when I had the max 30 people following me lol. It was better when you leave the town. I still got the platinum, loved the game - just wish the slowdown wasn't so bad :\

Done and done. Really would love that game on Vita. Also, I'm finally back into the swing of things with my Vita, sorry I've been gone for awhile guys :\ I'm about to finally beat the second dungeon in P4G. Also, Grim GOT DAMN at that avatar, lololol.

Did you play it in co-op?

torchlight doesn't have co-op so i doubt they played it co-op.

now torchlight 2 has co-op and is a vastly superior game to torchlight and i am really hoping people are pushing for 2 not just torchlight in general as the first game really isn't worth playing since torchlight 2 came out o.o;

No thank you.

Alternatively, you can submit a ticket on the Runic support site. I sent one under Torchlight II > General Questions.

Yes, please!!! I was shrugging it off initially, because it seems that in general, the first game is the one that gets ported when there are sequels out. In that case, T1 no thanks. I never played T1, but I have put a fair amount of time in T2 solo & coop. My PC gaming days are long behind me, and my current laptop barely runs Torchlight II. I'd love to get one of these new dungeon crawlers with all their fancy shmancy graphics available. I am likely going to pick up Diablo 3, but since the PS3/4 version will be so different from the original game, I wholly support T2 on Vita. Support from me has been sent.

I kind of figured that was implied at this point, but yes. do specifiy that you want Torchlight 2 as opposed to the first game when contacting Runic.

Dumb question, if I have an MK cart, and sell it and buy the downloadable version how do I handle not losing my save?

You don't need to do anything, just make sure you still have the "bubbles" of your retail games installed. I recently switched from retail to digital on Gravity Rush and Soul Sacrifice. Next time I tapped the bubbles I just didn't need a cart. Painless really.

I had a dream last night that this thread was locked and weren't allowed to have new ones going forward.

So, um, yeah... i dream about videogame message boards.

I also started a Hashtag on Twitter #Torchlight2Vita which you can tweet to @RunicGames if youd like. It would likely be helpful to include @ShahidKamal In the tweet so they have someone to contact directly if they decide to take the requests seriously.

so yeah, MotoGP 13 is actually good, R for acceleration is kinda weird but it's not a deal breaker, handling and weight shifting is pretty damn solid, physics is solid , the port is good, exceeded my expectations both graphically and performance wise (30 fps, don't struggle much) and is fully featured (GP, Championship, Career, multiplayer) I'm not sure if drivers or teams are missing since I don't follow the MotoGP like the rest of the world, no one care about motorbike racing, and it's is still a very very difficult game for new comers but yeah... the port is good.

Milestone srl is doing very decent work on Vita (WRC 3 lack content but it run and look good) their engine run better than codemaster's, now this studio need to be smart and make a GT circuits racing game for Vita (they made a game called V8 before which was like Toca).

Fuck. I didn't realize there were states that didn't charge tax on PSN. I've been paying sales tax (8.25% here in TX) on my PSN purchases for years. I even changed my address to a fake one after the hacking incident, but I must have picked another state that charges tax. I had no idea.

I've now switched my fake address to North Dakota. They have a law that strictly forbids the taxation of digital goods.

I'm so pissed.

Wtf is this. Downloaded Unit13 from ger psn. Vita is set to english so usually all the games are in english. Unit 13 is in french!?! How can I change that? Could a redownload help?

Edit: apparently this game doesn't support an english voice pack in this version and I won't change the system language just for this game. Unit 13 go home.

How were you even able to acquire Unit 13? Every time I try to add it to my cart I get this message:

But everything else on the page works just fine:

Feels so shitty to have missed Rayman. :-(

Holy shit...

I don't have a Vita, I'm waiting on new models or a bit of a price drop, but after looking at how many games I can play on the thing both because of how many PS1 games I own and through Plus, I really want one now.

However, because all of those games, a 32GB card at the current price just isn't cutting it. I need more memory storage than that, at a cheaper price than $80. I really wish they'd do something about that because there's no way I can bite at that.

i dont know how diablo was converted but it seems like a lot of work to translate into console controls unless it's just a touch interface in which case they would just want to have it on ios. anyway not something i personally would want to play even though most of the abilities on my embermage were spammy aoe that would probably work ok. i like selecting specific dudes to attack and something like shoulder button scrolling through enemies would suck some of the fun out of it (also I finished Torchlight 2)

Dunno, downloading worked just fine. Got it with PS+ on Wednesday already :/

@Totobeni: as I said, ger psn and system language is set to english. I would be able to play in german if I set my system language to german but I won't bother with that. Since it has no english voice pack it apparently defaults to french.

Its been done numerous times already so it should not be that difficult to accomplish really. They did it with Diablo, Diablo 3, Sacred 2, Baulders Gate DA, Champions of Norrath, and the original Torchlight on 360 (I dont recall if TL2 released on 360). So I dont see why it would be extreamly difficult to bring TL2. The only barrier I really see now that Sony has the policies they do for indies is Runic knowing there is interest, and knowing Sony will help them more then they might have in the past.

Same goes for the Grimrock guys, because I remember on their forums.someone had asked about a Vita version, and a dev said they were not against it, but their resources were limited.

Hold the fuck up - can you post the confirmation of this?

^^I just like rouge-likes in general, games like Shiren took up lots of my time and its actually hard now to find a classic style rouglike that's not a PC release, where there is plenty but I feel are of lesser quality or become too-obssesed with their subsystems beyond the classics like hunger, step-limits, and death resets of course.
