Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

Well, I'm happy to see it getting a US release. I understand there are bigger releases people want out there, but it's nice to get something smaller and more old-school every once in a while, too.

I'm just happy it was a Vita release! That's the main triumph here!

Torchlight is super boring i had to play it in 20-30 minutes long sessions because it was unbearable otherwise

What purpose does this serve?

Debating on picking up a Vita, 16gb card and Persona 4 Golden today. What other game should I buy, Soul Sacrifice or Muramasa?

Soul Sacrifice is currently my GOTY.
Game is STILL getting free DLC. Try the demo when you get your Vita.
Also, the other poster was right, buy Guacamelee and Hotline Miami too.

Guess I will need PS+ as well. Should I go screen protector or no, (never use one on my PSP)

I have the Hori one, it was easy to put on, and works great. I'd recommend it -- your PSP didn't have a touch screen.

Yeah, I know, right?

Ehhhh....I wont lie, the moe factor really kills some of these localizations for me. I am happy for the people that wanted it though, hope its good.

He's giving his opinion about the game?

I love hearing gaffer's opinions; they've both sold me on games and steered me away from bad ones.

I kind of have the same opinion of Torchlight; it's fun in small bursts but can get a bit tiring if you play it for long periods of time.

I don't know about the other two games yet, but Demon Gaze is a day-one purchase for me. Hopefully they won't be digital only (not that it'll affect me).

Uhhh...is this true? I really wanted Demon Gaze, and no idea what the other game is but title is interesting.
Just announced today by NISA at the same expo Aksys announced its localization. Localizations for you, and you, and YOU!

Ehhh, that curry game looks a little janky. I'm glad it has a following in Japan but I'm sure as hell not buying what is obviously a budget game at full price.

Still need is Senran Kagura from XSEED.

Most of the discussion was by a bunch of the posters that were trying to contact Runic to get a Torchlight game ported to Vita to replace the gaping hole left in the Action RPG genre on the platform now the Ruin/Warrior's Lair is cancelled. I just don't see how randomly chiming in on the discussion by saying you disliked the game serves any purpose at this point...

Doubt the game has much in DLC department so it'll be safe to import. Although an EU release would be nice but I wouldn't hold my breath too much.
I dunno, seems like something Ghostlight might get around to eventually. But regardless, AFAIK, the DLC is item packs and cosmetic stuff.

Finally saw the thread, this is good news imo. Now can someone explain what the trigger happy game is, is it a visual novel like VLR?
Not really sure... I think it's some kind of surreal murder mystery visual novel with puzzles and rythm game section or something...

Anime expo does what e3 doesn't or should i say aksys and nisa do what scea deson't?
You don't think Sony's general push to make publishing of smaller games easier on their consoles deserves some credit? I mean, if we were to follow the popular narrative, both companies should be focusing their efforts on 3DS games now, shouldn't they?

Demon Gaze looks a bit like Etryian Odyssey with more.. japanese trappings?
Etrian Odyssey and Demon Gaze owe their basic gameplay to the Wizardry series, and in fact both Atlus and Experience/Team Muramasa made official Wizardry games before they went and made their own franchises. Biggest difference is that Demon Gaze is far more story focused.

Yeah Demon Gaze is a Classic Dungeon Crawler, first person and grid map etc. while making your own party by selecting from classes.

Ah I see - so with time and money for only one classic, first person dungeon crawler in my life what's 'better'?

I imported Demon Gaze the day it came out in Japan, really fun and has adjustable difficulty setting if you like your dungeon crawlers balls hard.

Yeah, you know I never thought about it, but I do wonder how Sonys changed policies effect the Japanese side of things, and if those benefits could also help companies like Nisa, and Akys in reguards to localizations. I know they are not indie or anything, but they are not mega pubs either.

Either way im happy with atleast the Demon Gaze localization for now. Im not sure about the Trigger Happy game, but sounds interesting and I liked VLR allot. Hopefully we will get Mind 0 announced, and a few of the other Japanese games I was interested in.

I wont ever hope for Legend of heroes localizations though, I have seen what that does to people.

Okay, now these are localisations I can get behind.

Some bad news - the game's gimped compared to the Japanese version. Just includes the first game.

Still better than nothing.
Hopefully the we can get the second game separately if the first sells okay, even if it means paying more. :/

Bought 3G/WiFi model with the year of ps plus. It's going to be a long night. :)

Congrats, get P4G, Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice and Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure(PSP) also Guacamelee.

and get the official stand if you have any extra money.

If we get MindZero and SDR at some point too my Vita will be in heaven.

Mind 0 is a GungHo ip, so it should be in the pocket.(I hope)

So is the Vita now both indie heaven and JRPG heaven?

or do localisations not count since they're not 'new'

Dangan Ronpa isn't a JRPG at all, but I guess Demon Gaze is. I am hoping DR will be Vita's Ace Attorney (which would have been nice to get on PS mobile in the first place :( )
