Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | October 2013 | Ver 2000, Batman and some Angry Birds

Anyone heard anything new about the 2000 model? I don't want to get involved in the LCD vs oled that devours every other mention of the new model. I would hope some of those colors reach US soil.

So doesn't deserve a top of page, but since here:

I love HSG, Killzone, and sadly struggling to get through P4G.

Why do I feel like they're gonna make the Crash and Spyro games compatible come this week's store update?

Oh and based off ESRB.org, Mr. Driller is apparently coming to US PSN this week and will be Vita compatible. Also...Crash Bandicoot 1 and 2 are listed for a 'Playstation Certified Device' on ESRB as well...

I hope so.

I'm for sure getting Injustice next month. I'm also curious about Malicious Rebirth. I've been wanting it for a long while. I just am unsure of the pricing for it.

Give me a good reason to buy it (other than unfeasibly large boobs) and tell me which version I should get and I'll think about it.

Well, you could get it simply because it is a great and gorgeous game that pays perfect homage to the brawlers of old.

EDIT: oh wait this is the vita thread, I guess you're recommending the vita version?

Every game available on other consoles that I can also play on the Vita, I play on my Vita. It is a far more convenient, intimate and isolating experience for me (that without mentioning the great d-pad and tight analog sticks of course).

But feel free to get it for any console you feel the most comfortable with. It is a great game.

About 1/3 way through on New Game+. Persona 4 is hands down the best game on the Vita. The only thing thing missing in my opinion is the Japanese voices.

It's a good game. But I wouldn't put it at the top of my Vita list. Especially not "hands down". :P

Unfeasibly large boobs? That sounds like a sale right there!
But seriously, it's the best brawler I've played since I don't even remember when... if you like brawlers like Castle Crashers, Golden Axe, Double Dragon, Streets of Rage, Final Fight, etc. it's like those -- but with a good amount of loot-based gameplay and a nice leveling system to keep you invested. I spent 85 hours getting my platinum and enjoyed at least 90% of it (I still loathe the Fighter).

Not bloody likely.
I can't remember the last time that SCEA added a PSOne or PSP game to Vita -- probably Peace Walker... that's the last one I remember.
I'm not holding my breath on this one.

I couldn't resist the blue and white 2000. Ordered one last night, hopefully customs won't be to brutal !

As a result will have a original plus 16gb card for sale !

Is NG+ worth playing? I'm getting towards the end of the game (MAJOR SPOILER)
going for adachi
and I'm very ready for it to be over at this point. Maybe I'll give it a nice long break and come back to NG+ later.

That blue and white Vita looks nice.

My OLED screen looks better though. ;)

I love how Vita is becoming a portable machine for fighting games, so far we have:

Blaz Blue Extend.
Marvel vs Capcom 3.
Dead or Alive 5 Plus.
Mortal Kombat 9.
PSABR.
Guilty Gear (sadly only in America)
Street Fighter X Tekken.
The fighting game from Shonen Jump.

And now we are getting Injustice: Gods Among Us. Now I want Blaz Blue Chrono Phantasma.

I never have played so much this genre like now and sometimes saddens me that I won't be able to master any of them, since I am splitted already among the three fighting games I own (BB Extend, DoA 5 Plus and Sf X Tekken.).

yep just need Tekken now. And I don't mean Tekken Revolution..Tekken Tag 2 or a Tekken DR like game with new characters
I know we had a rumor about it a while back..hope it's true.

Here's a relatively long look at Worms Revolution Extreme

Pleased with all the features and play modes, but not pleased with the looks... I'd watched a quick Let's Play of the PC/console version, and was looking forward to that. It would have been preferable for them to nix the 3D backgrounds, in order to upres the ground textures and better the framerate.

Can't wait for Injustice, myself. Don't forget Yatagarasu/Legend of Raven.

Vita has made me enjoy and bother to try and learn fighting games again for the first time since Dreamcast. SF x Tekken is so boss. I'd say it's the best looking game on Vita next to Killzone. I can't believe that we get full-featured, current gen fighting games with really high parity on a handheld and the dpad is the shit. It really blows my mind sometimes when I'm just chilling playing for awhile, with cross-platform network play. It's not like finally getting a portable that can play 10-15 year old 90's fighters, or needs it's own unique game in order to be decent. I really wish Marvel & SFxT had sold more, one because they had full character rosters out of the box, and two so we could get Ultra Street Fighter IV.

can someone told me about Tokyo New World Record: Operation Abyss

here's some artwork, never heard about this before. who make it etc, I assume it's dungeon crawler game from the screens, chances of localization? I like the art

This looks great. I want.

I don't recommend playing NG+ right away. Beating P4G the first time took a lot of time and was a pretty long journey. As you mentioned, you're ready for the story to be over so you understand what I mean.

It is worth playing if you enjoyed the story. After I beat it the first time, I didn't touch the game for about 3-4 months. I forgot most of the details in the story and I'm enjoying NG+ quite a bit.

I recommend you wait a few months before starting NG+.

It's a good game. But I wouldn't put it at the top of my Vita list. Especially not "hands down". :P

Yep, everyone has their favourite game and P4G is mine. However, by the looks of things, Luftrausers will be a strong contender to be one of my favourites... whenever it gets released hehe.

Currently, KZM comes at a close second but there are several problems with it. I'm disappointed in the small player count in multiplayer matches. I was surprised that the max number of players was only 8. At times maps can get fairly empty. The second issue I had was the lack of weapon customization. While the overall character customization was good, I wish there were more options to tailor your favourite weapons to your liking. Lastly, I don't find collecting Valor Cards all that addicting. I hope they introduce a different progression system for the next Vita game.

EDIT: oh wait this is the vita thread, I guess you're recommending the vita version?

First post in a page must (should) have recommendations. And there are quite some people from EU VitaGAF buying it, so you'll have some co-op fun.

It's the kind of game that you could be playing for lots of hours if it clics on you, just depends if you think you can like the game or not.

On the other hand, I think PS3 version has local co-op.

Don't hate me please :(

That new Destiny of Spirits trailer is great. Increasing my interest... really looking forward to it. Q? games killed it with Lumines: Electronic Symphony, I like collecting/battle rpgs, and the art/theme kinda reminds me of Ogre Battle tarot cards.

November is awesome. Tearaway, Injustice & Ys: Memories of Celceta. That $10 I get back from pre-ordering Batman will come in handy.

Is Ys confirmed for release on Nov?

After some research, it sounds like you can have 2 vitas on one account, assuming you don't have any other PSPs activated and you can't both be online at the same time

this could be perfect for us. feel dumb for having purchased PSN games on his account, but that's minimal

Maybe late to the party but was there any doubt's to this? It's two consoles and two portables.

I've two vitas and two ps3 activated.

Nice! Character being ugly as sin really bothered me with MK.

How is the story mode/SP in this? As good as MK:s?

I haven't played it, but from what I've heard, the story revolves around Superman killing Joker, and just generally being a dick, and Batman being pissed off at him- which is why they're fighting.

Sounds like you were in an half empty room (which could be problem with any player count really), it can get quite then indeed. But if you play more, learn the maps a bit better and put on some headphones you know where the action is. I was afraid the player count was gonna kill my fun before I played the game, turns out Guerilla tailored the maps perfectly to the player count. Once you learn how to optimize your playstyle and make use of the sprint button/slide things can get pretty hectic..

Is Ys confirmed for release on Nov?

I don't know, but it says Nov 5th on amazon still:

ys11.jpg

Pretty close to the date, if they plan on changing it again. If it was uncertain, I don't see why it wouldn't say Dec 31st.

Been looking at sales charts and large merchant sites such as Amazon and Gamestop and it seems Killzone Mercenary is a Bomba. Multiplayer seems to healthy enough, but I doubt the game is getting the sort of numbers Sony wanted. Of course there is also the digital sales, but the Mercenary doesn't appear to be doing all that well on the retail side of things.

When given a major marketing campaign Killzone console games put up mediocre numbers. A handheld spinoff that was sent to die isn't going to do better.

The only reason I actually care about this is because it hopefully means that NRS will continue to support the VIta when they make a game that isn't Injustice.

Nether Realm not doing the Injustice Vita port would make it seem they're not interested in including that platform in their pipeline for future games.

So, the Vita Screenshot thread hasn't had a post in four months. There's been plenty of games out since then. I want to remind the old Vitabros and also the newer Vitabros that may not have even known we have the thread that we do have a thread filled with screenshots of Vita games. It would be great if it could pick up a little, as it's a great resource for people wanting to know what a game looks like. Go ahead in there, post some of your favorite screenshots you've taken on your Vita, and we'll get it going again.

Playstation Vita Screenshots | OS Level Captures

I just posted in there with a screenshot of a few different games.
I know how to take a screenshot, but that's about it. What else do I need to do to be able to upload it? I tried imgur, but it just gets stuck on the upload screen.

Made it to the Final boss in Persona 4 Golden! Is level 85 good? I have many high level personas including Trumpeteer and Yoshitsune. all of my other party members are around the same level (around 78-80). Any opinions on how difficult the fight will be with Yosuke, Chie, and Yukiko?

Nether Realm not doing the Injustice Vita port would make it seem they're not interested in including that platform in their pipeline for future games.

But Warner Bros. is publishing the Vita version, and they own NetherRealm. It's not as if Sony is publishing it and hired Armature to do the port.

I still have some hope it will have some good legs thanks to Black Friday + Holidays. But i'm being delusional too.

Still, Takao, what are the good news about Medabots? I've read the text below your ID and i'm curious xD.
___

BTW, I've just get my second platinum! It was painful farming arcanas,
and you people didn't listen me while i was begging T.T
and I hate the Steel First Expert trophy (the others weren't really that bad).

facebook and I think twitter app work too, but if you want to keep the screenshot integrity, connect to your laptop and transfer the screenshots over... can either connect with USB or wifi

But Warner Bros. is publishing the Vita version, and they own NetherRealm. It's not as if Sony is publishing it and hired Armature to do the port.

Plus this is a simultaneous release for the Ultimate Edition on all platforms, with no delay for the Vita version with a bunch of Vita-specific content and modes. Depending on the project and the studio, there's nothing wrong with divvying up a workload for a timely release.

And FF V as well...

And R-Types.
And R-Type Delta.
And Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain.

I wonder if tweeting Sahid about Crash and Spyro on Vita would yield any results, or is he completely the wrong guy for that?

Probably won't help. Shahid works for SCEE, not SCEA, so the likelihood of him doing anything to help us, even if he wanted to, is probably small.

Nether Realm not doing the Injustice Vita port would make it seem they're not interested in including that platform in their pipeline for future games.

It shows that WB, at the very least, is interested in porting NRS games to additional platforms including VIta. We got MK9 Vita and PC, so hopefully, we'll get the next game closer to launch, if not at launch, providing someone actually buys Injustice. (I won't, sorry, guys... you have to do the heavy lifting for me on this one.)

Congrats.
Sorry I couldn't help you with your farming -- I don't have room on my card to put Uncharted on there solely for that when it's 3.1gb.
Also, Steel Fist Expert wasn't that bad. :P

Is Ys confirmed for release on Nov?
Falcom is currently working on implementing the translation in the game. I think the current word is late November if everything proceeds on schedule.

Nether Realm not doing the Injustice Vita port would make it seem they're not interested in including that platform in their pipeline for future games.
They're not doing any of the new ports, which to me makes it seem more likely that they're simply focused on a new project. But hey, if you want to argue that they won't be publishing on PS4 or PC in the future too, be my guest. :P

The good news is that there's new games
that are unfortunately Japan-only.

Farming used to be so much worse when the game launched. They released a patch several months ago that made farming significantly easier- like, so much easier to get drops that it took like 1/4 of the time to farm. After that patch released, I got the platinum in like an hour.

EDIT: The quote below is related to Persona 4 Golden!!

Holy shit. I read "NG+" as "Ninja Gaiden+" and highlighted the spoiler because I've already played Ninja Gaiden, and didn't think anything of it. Thank god I beat Persona 4 about a month ago. Man. I completely brain farted on that, because I actually didn't read the comment you were quoting. Lol.

I think I did it before that patch. >_<

I'd say Gio Corsi is much better target.

What has that guy done besides "asked" for suggestions on Twitter?
