Vixen can fly?

Zatanna would be perfect for CW, as well as Nightwing or Batgirl. They'll never touch the bat family though

I love Zatanna, but the problem with her is that she has very little lore. Few classic enemies, almost no classic stories. If they would ever want to expand into mythical/magical side of DCverse I think (considering Constatnine is already taken) Books of Maigic would be the best choice.
I'm actually really surprised than among all those upcoming shows nobody is trying to pull off Books of Magic.

I'd like to see them put Alan Scott in the arrow verse, or at least another green lantern. It feels wrong that the next time we'll see a live action green lantern is 2020.

They could also go with Doctor Fate, unless that is caught up in the constantine show (heard it was planed for constantine, but we don't know if constantine will be sticking). They seem to be going the JSA route with canary, wildcat & flash.

They apparently never showed her flying in the Justice League cartoon, which is many's (includng myself) only real exposure to the character.

IIRC she even took the aspect of a waterbear or something similar to survive in space. She's a really cool character.

Definitely down! Like the character and the style. Not sure what limitations being in the Arrowverse puts on it.

Pretty cool. I thought she would show up on Arrow sooner or later. It'd be pretty easy to ground her character as someone who knows the five animals of kung fu.

I don't think we're ever going back to that universe.

There was a strong rumor last year that Bruce Timm was back working on a new animated series that would debut between Batman V Superman and Justice League. It was unclear if it was something new or a return to the existing universe.

Dude. It's over. They've moved on. Bruce Timm working on a new animated series would be great, but don't expect it to be a return to the DCAU.

DCTVU going all-in, and I love it. Seems like Flash really opened the flood gates to do whatever comic book stuff they want. The CW should just rebrand as The DC channel.

My only questions are...

1. Will they mention her in the live action show?
2. Will there be a live-action version for her? Or will she only cross over in the animated stuff.

,

RIP McDuffye
I love that this exists.

I want a Nightwing show so fucking bad.

They are never going back to it. Any rumors about whether or not they are...well, they're precisely that: rumors. Dini and Timm already did Green Lantern The Animated Series, which was never going to return to the DCAU, and based on the name, it was the most likely.

Plain and simple, it's over.

Actually, yeah, now that I think about it, I always preferred the Hawkgirl pairing. I think I liked the tension between the 3 though. That was entertaining
I liked Hawkgirl and Vixen hanging out and talking about John. It was nice that they still got along.

I'm okay with the DCAU being over. But I don't want a "darker" universe. :(

Since this is a digital series, I really wonder what kind of budget this is going to get for the animation.

So hyped the character style looks awesome. I wonder if Phil Bourassa is the lead animator on this ?

? Bourassa isn't an animator, he's a character designer. But yeah, this is very much his work.

Bruce Timm has been involved with a majority of DC animated projects since JLU ended. No reason to assume they're ever going back to that universe.

Huh?

Tardigrades can survive in extreme environments. For example, they can withstand temperatures from just above absolute zero to well above the boiling point of water, pressures about six times greater than those found in the deepest ocean trenches, ionizing radiation at doses hundreds of times higher than the lethal dose for a human, and the vacuum of outer space. They can go without food or water for more than 10 years, drying out to the point where they are 3% or less water, only to rehydrate, forage, and reproduce.

Now I just discovered an animal more diesel than a honey badger. Sheesh mother nature.

i keep hearing good things about YJ

does it end in a satisfying way? i'd hate to be left hanging...

Yeah.
Season 2 ends like season 1, it wraps up the arc for that season while teasing what's to come.
You'll kind of be left hanging but not really since everything will be resolved.

We are getting Nightwing with Titans.
Wouldn't surprise me if Batgirl has an appearance or two considering their history in the comics.

Cassandra Cain (Batgirl) having an appearance on Arrow out of costume could also work as she fits that show, especially if Arrow ever brings Lady Shiva in.

LOL do not watch it.
S1 was good but the whole thing was a setup for a horrendous S2 then both seasons turned out to be just a setup for a 3rd season that never happened because it was cancelled.
S2 is the single worst bit of DC animation ever.

It's an excellent show, but if you're looking for a satisfying ending look elsewhere.

And ignore Razgriz, Jaime's presence alone puts season 2 at least on par with season 1.

I'm sort of upset this is digital. I was genuinely hoping this would be broadcast and maybe, just maybe, this would pave the way for western action animation to be taken seriously. Not just comedy.

I'll take what I can get, I suppose.

season 2 at least on par with season 1.
If zero character development or progression is your thing I guess.

S1 was great because every character was well developed, S2 just tossed in a load of characters who got almost no development or screentime.
Red Arrow/Cheshire
is the only meaningful thing the series had.

The expanded cast did mean that each character got less screen time, yeah, but I still think the core members got plenty of development.

Just because the show was focusing more on plot and action as opposed to characters doesn't mean that's a negative. It's different. Besides, Blue Beetle and Impulse got solid arcs, as well as the core cast from the previous season.

Nolanverse would have been a terrible fit for a shared DCCU. Not that I think MoS is a great one by any means, but at least there's already some blatantly fantastic elements there to work with.

I think it would have been a great launchpad. The 'grounded' feeling on the Nolanverse worked and could have worked even better across the other heroes. Each to their own :)

Despite some improbable technology here and there, the Nolanverse was so grounded that it didn't feel like a universe where superpowers, aliens, magic, etc. could or should exist at all. But yeah, to each his own, I suppose.

The great thing about Arrow was it started out seemingly in the Nolan universe but slowly started to shift where other stuff could be possible(like a comic version of Bane for example)
And now that Flash exists in that universe real crazy stuff like aliens or a certain pit don't seem too out there.
