Came here to hoping to see Come and see, and was very happy to see it in the OP.

Greatest war movie of all time? Possibly. It is certainly one of the most harrowing films I've ever seen.

Finally saw it, Hacksaw Ridge (2016).

Really good movie.

EDIT: It's on page 1. :D

1942 UNKNOWN BATTLE Official Trailer (2021) War Movie HD

Pretty much another propaganda modern movie, but it is actually pretty good w. the acting and shots.

Wounded as tank driver in 1941 during WWII, Kalashnikov sees the latest Soviet machine gun fail. As he's also an inventor, he starts looking for improvements and in 1947 ends up with AK-47 assault rifle.

This is actually a really good movie, but, yes, there is a ton of propaganda in it... :p However, I think the acting semi make up for it.

Though, you really should watch the subtitled version, not the dubbed over one, the english version is horrid to hear, you can really tell the difference in the trailers..

April 1940, Second World War. A Danish industrialist (Jesper Christensen of James Bond fame) cooperates and profits from the German occupation of Denmark while his family fights back against the Nazi.

A group of young Russian soldiers are deployed to the Ilyinsky line of defense in a bid to defend Moscow against the onslaught of the Nazi advance. Hopelessly outnumbered, they will bravely fight for almost two weeks...

Yamato getting a english release.

Based on extraordinary true events, Erik Poppe’s superbly-realised box office hit is an absorbing story of morality and honour set during a pivotal moment in World War II, when an unprepared Norway was invaded by German forces and their monarch presented with a terrible ultimatum. 9 April, 1940.

The Soviet army breaks through the Finnish defenses on the Karelian Isthmus in June 1944, advancing with overwhelming force. Somehow, the Finnish troops must find the strength to fight back, with all odds against them.

This one, is special.. :)

Yeah, it's a great film, but really hard hitting. Been trying to buy a digital copy in the UK, but can't seem to find it on Prime or Google Play.

That's the issue with buying digital. There will always be some films are unavailable. There needs to be a dedicated digital film store that allows you to buy and download every film known to humanity.

More people need to see Come and See.

Most popular ones were posted and I remember seeing one others probably did not. In fact... I went to the cinema twice as I was impressed this is a polish production.
The movie is kinda naive and have some really out of place slow motion kissing/shooting scenes. But other than that is is gut wrenching at depiction of Warsaw city destruction caused by uprising.
The ending especially when they show totaled burning warsaw and transition to modern rebuilt city... not much of a spoiler but it's good.

Nothing oscar worthy but IMO kinda unique. At least nothing I saw before.
