And everybody was afraid Marvel killed her off.

Though I guess we have skrull impersonator, shapeshifter, time traveler, dream sequence and alternate reality ms Marvel to investigate.

WarOfTheMarvels_Teaser.jpg

Today, Marvel released a teaser for the July issue, called "War of the Marvels."

i thought MM died when Rogue drained her dead? (admittedly, don't really know the comic book mythology and am operating under the 90's animated series canon :lol)

Ever since Civil War, Carol Danvers has become a major part of the Marvel universe, leading up the Mighty Avengers teams.

I love the Ms. Marvel book, so this is pretty exciting. I dropped off in the past few months but I think I'll come back for this.

I would imagine things serious injuries and death mean very little in the long run in the comic world.

I have a rather silly question involving comics. I see a lot of popular superheroes like Batman or Spider-man having tons of different books dedicated to them. There are these stories meant to be connected? Also, how do comics handle the fact that these characters have been roughly 20-30 years old FOREVER?

DC has rebooted its continuity a couple times. Marvel uses a sliding timeline, so no matter how long Marvel comics is around, time in the Marvel universe only goes back 10-15 years (and all anachronisms are forgotten). So for example, in marvel time, Spider-Man got his powers about 10 years ago, even though in the real world, Spider-Man has been around for 45 years.

she survived in the cartoon too. shes been a prominent marvel heroine for a while now, although due to bendis and his mighty avengers and those damn thought bubbles, people have begun to dislike her as of recently

Would be nice it they had the courage to let characters go.

They're both supposed to be Ms. Marvel, right? The black-suited one has two major edges on the red-suited one. :lol

However, she might be disadvantaged by the fact that her hair apparently ate her right arm.

Edit: Wait, not, she's catching the red-suited Ms. Marvel's punch. But then her shoulder... what the hell?

The red one is Moonstone, Osborn gave her the old Ms. Marvel costume to be part of his Avengers.

Carol Danvers exploded in the last Ms. Marvel, everyone said she was dead but explosions kind of hide bodies. :P

Also, why does Ms. Marvel have her own thread but War of Kings, Flash Rebirth or Captain "fuckin" Britain vs Vampires from the friggin moon doesn't?

But look how her shoulder's set compared to where it should be. It even continues up under her hair.

I think her right arm was originally pointed upward.

Go make them? :P

Honestly, there are more DC fans on GAF than there are Marvel fans. And even most DC fans didn't seem to be blown away by Rebirth to the point where they thought it needed a thread.

I love the MU right now. Dark Reign is a great status quo and makes up for the disappointing Secret Invasion.

But yeah, that's a pretty awesome cover. :lol @ anyone who thought THAT was really Carol's death. Come on now.

Good to hear. I think post-Civil War it was a really fun and entertaining book. The SI tie-in, I thought kind of sucked. But everything since has been good again.

Though I think if Marvel wants to push Ms. Marvel into the mainstream "big leagues", they need to get a writer who isn't just writing a "fun and entertaining" book, but someone who is going to get critical acclaim.

I'd like to see Wells take a crack at Carol, considering how fucking good his Dark Reign: Elektra was.

I've only read up to issue 31 (i.e. everything on Marvel's digital comics site), so I have no idea what the fuck is up with Carol there.

I do know that she's had plenty of weird schizophrenic Marvel on Marvel episodes before, so this isn't really unprecedented.

Yeah like in the newish Ironman comics the one ennis wrote, his origin takes place in desert storm. Stead of well the 60's..

Ms. Marvel is a hot little thing.
