Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Master Crafted Edition Official Trailer - June 10th - PC/Xbox/GamePass (Remaster of 1st Game)

Anybody heard/read anything about a PS5 version? Or why it's not on there release date
This is a small porting studio located in Lithuania. It's likely the budget allotted for this port was not all that high.
Since PC and Xbox are "code once" using the GDK, that's the cheapest route to getting multiple versions out. They might be waiting for any Game Pass residual payments (and complete sales) to come in before they begin work on the Playstation version, or it might just have been put 2nd in line behind the easier DirectX port. Since Sneakybox has ported other games in the past to Playstation, it's likely PS5 will get a version of this. But hard to say when that will be.

Some SX pics from the first 10 minutes.
intbal intbal can confirm there's no 120hz option. A flat 60 through and through, so far.

Playing some more, it's a mixed bag of a remaster and if it weren't on GP. I would not be paying $40 for this. For reference, Gears of War 2's One X enhancement looks better than this .. and that was a free update to an X360 game.

I guess it's good for purists who want the same game just running better at a higher resolution now.

Not all character models get a facelift.

Titus is the only one who seems to have gotten a decent facelift.

This on Gamepass pc as well or just console? I have it downloaded on my Xbox but I'll be at my pc for some D&D tonight and would like to give this game a start at least.

Maybe I will try it with gamepass....never was interested in to the Warhammer universe.
Is it close to Gears of War games ?

Complaints about the upgrades not being significant for the price and what not, is it the best way to play the original game or not (outside it being the only way for some platforms of course).

Edit: I guess I should replace "and what not" with "aside" to get the answer I want as both replies I got are just reiterating that, the upgrades aren't worth the price, without saying if it's better.

If you have a PC that can run it at 4K, stick with it.

On console, this is the best way to play. You only have a 720p/30 fps option otherwise, even that is not backwards compatible on current consoles for Xbox and I'm not sure if PS3 even has it on its streaming service.

Seconded.
I originally played this on 360. I picked up the PC version some time later. There is just nothing in this new version that's worth the upgrade price if you already have it on PC.
It's not Grove Street Games-bad. It's just very plain.
Awesome game, though, if you've never played it.

Yeah graphically, its pretty underwhelming. The controls are a bit stiff/janky- but then again so was the original one. Its a lot simpler than its new counterpart. I am still in the opening few missions and most of the enemies can be light melee attacked, stunned and finished to repetition. The gun play at least with the bolter ( based on how far i am in the game), is no where near as good as the sequel- but that is to be expected.

That being said, the game is hella fun, and definately a throwback when not every game had to be AAA. But i agree, i dont think i would have paid 40 - or $60 (CAD) for this if it werent on gamepass. That being said, the story is quite good in this one, plus orks (👉゚ヮ゚)👉

No PS5 release is a big mistake. Gamepass subscribers will play this for 2 hours and then move on to something else. I hope the bag from Microsoft was worth skipping out on paying customers and building more anticipation for the next game...

I think it's just a timed exclusive.

Space Marine 2 sold the most on PC, followed closely by PS5. It makes sense to release this on PS5 at some point.

Err the next game already sold extremely well?

Microsoft isn't even shy of keeping their own first party IP exclusive, not sure why anyone thinks they paid to get this.

Probably some kind of developmental or time crunch issue on the porting studios part, they could only focus on one version first.

The strange thing is I can't even find a single comment from a journalist about whether this is a timed exclusive or not on PS5 at all. Like, did anyone ask SEGA a god damn question about this? Strange.

The original game seems to work totally fine (on my PC at least). I played through Space Marine 1 right before the sequel came out. Modernized controls would be nice. I think I had some issues with one or two actions on keyboard + mouse and where I should map them.

Removable HUD?

It fades away itself after a few seconds when not in combat.

Also, I don't think I ever got this far into the game before but damn there is a *LOT* of long empty hall running in this. Like, every few minutes I'm running down a veeery long empty hall.

That sounds like typical PS360 era level transitioning design to allow the game to stream in the data for the new area.

I feel like you got to the part where I originally fell off the game awhile ago when I tried it.

I'm only at the start of Chapter 5 right now. I had started Space Marine 2 but when this got announced I figured I would wait and play through it and go into SM2 so I'm hoping I don't hit the same wall I hit before.

Using your typical X360 Gears as an example, these empty corridors are 5 times longer on average.

Then Sega would have said that ps5 version is in development, this got xbox's gp day one, play anywhere traitment, the most logical answer is a deal for exclusivity, maybe timed.

Played upto chapter 2 I think with the big cannon part and really liked it - bit janky but its old school cool.

Really into old games at the moment - playing through Turok and Quake at the mooment.

I'm almost done with it. It's enjoyable for what it is, and it's always fun to run around in Ultramarine armor and kill orks and heretics, but it's very basic as remasters go. As a Game Pass game, it's fine, but if I had paid 40 dollars (let's say) for it, I'd be disappointed.

I recently replayed the original in the build up to 2, so dont think this remaster has anything to offer me, right now at least.

More like Weaksauce 40K. This is one lame ass port. Playing the original on SD was nice but this on a big screen not so much.

Game is fun. Plays like an old game but there's good ideas here. Executions healing is good. The jetpack is fun as fuck.

It's just a straight up 4K conversion of the original with the character models getting a nice improvement.

A very barebones remaster. They priced it way too high. If it weren't on GP, I would never put down money on this.
