Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Master Crafted Edition Official Trailer - June 10th - PC/Xbox/GamePass (Remaster of 1st Game)

This is what I wanted. Good on them doing this for people who might want to check out the first after playing the second one.

If I have one tiny, tiny issue, it's that they seemed to have toned down or removed some of the bloom, fog, motion blur, and other post processing effects from the Xbox 360 era in favor of the more clean PC-look.

But I'm still going to purchase it as I've been waiting for this.

Cool!

That said, I replayed this before SM2 came out and while I enjoyed it I don't think I enjoyed it enough to play through it again, even with enhancements.

or like me still have not got to 2

No PS5 at launch is hilarious, guess they don't like money lol. Will buy when it inevitably migrates over, mistake not launching simultaneously though.

Played this alot on PC. Bummed theres no mention of a playstation version. Hopefully its just a timed exclusive deal.

What's the point besides to milk people without offering anything substential? They already released more modern version not that long ago. What this game needs is complete remake on a Space Marine 2 engine.

Anyway, if it's not free for all owners of the original = no buy.

I'm definitely interested, haven't played Space Marine 1, but the gameplay looks very cool.

I bet Space Marine 2 will also eventually make its way to Game Pass.

Do the owners of the Anniversary Edition get at least a discount on this? I remember THQ did shit shady things the moment SM2 was announced - they changed SM1 to Anniversary Edition and dramatically increased the price. What was selling for $2-3 never went lower than $8-9 on Steam recently.

It's probably either a delayed announcement or a short delay release.

Would make little sense for this to not come to PS5 or Switch 2.

You mean they still do this stupid thing where they pay the publisher not to tell folks that the game is coming out on another platform until three days later?

Who can say, it's been a long time since Sega did that and that was long before MS's recent multi-platform pivot. They didn't hesitate in announcing Gears for PS5, makes no sense they would ask Sega to hold back a third party game announcement.

Could be any number of things.

Timed exclusive seems most likely in these scenarios.

Why would you pay for a minor release to be timed exclusive when you've already started porting your own catalog to the competition? It really doesn't make much sense to me unless it's something from Sega's side.

Sega does what Nintendon't, afterall.

It's about boosting their subscription service, which is not on rival platforms.

While the enemies of the Emperor still draw breath, there can be no peace!

Worth another play through, enjoyed it 15yr ago!

I'll play it on GP on the Xbox, but would have preferred a PS5 version as I have SM2 on that console.

If the remaster is good, I might double dip and buy on the PS5, that is if the PS5 release even happens.

Oh wow I'm just now seeing this. It's a better game than 2 imo. Obviously not visually but game play-wise.

Will play it on GP but it sucks it's not on PS5.

The original game was only 5.6GB. That's quite a jump in data size, since this is just a remaster.
I hope it's nearly all in-game assets and not high definition videos.
(I can't actually remember what the cutscenes consisted of in the original game.)

It seems like a competent remaster. No performance problems.
Although it really is just the original game. If you have the PC version, I'm not sure this is much of an upgrade.

The trailer did mention new models etc.

The flat 60 line looks great. Maybe they should have offered a 1080/1440p 120hz mode as well.

I recall that one of the Tomb Raider remasters had an undocumented 120hz mode. This particular youtuber might not have even tried to play at 120hz. Although it's probably just a 60fps cap.
It's such a simple game, though. You're right. The Series consoles could both do 120fps at the right settings.

Ah phooey, doesn't look like taking a trip to New Zealand expedites playing the game. Ah well, making my way back to the U.S.
