I just watched Before Sunset with my girl yesterday and it was great. The only problem is, I didn't expect the movie to play out like it did. She hadn't seen the first and I think some of the impact and closeness of the characters was lost on her. I expect Sunset to be just like the first movie, except set at their "meet again" moment and another day spent together, withlove, romance, etc. Before Sunset is quite different from that. It's straight dialogue, even more so than the first and takes place during a much briefer moment in time. And that moment in time is not when I expected it. If you haven't seen it yet, then I recommend having seen the first one before watching Sunset. There is some references to catch, but its more about understanding what the characters are feeling and why the characters are feeling so.
The other thought is, with the girl and her killing off of romance and falling in love, that's something I can identifying with well. After one certain relationship, I just decided to not give myself away or let myself get carried away. Maybe it's a part of maturing in dealing with relationships, but maybe it is as sad as it seems for her.
