That's the teaser? I kept thinking teaser trailer, ready to get excited or shun it like expected. Bah! Need to read more carefully

Anyway, I want to be optimistic, but I see little chance of this turning out well... I'll still probably see it, though. Same goes for V for Vendetta.

I just don't see this being turned into a competent movie without it being 4 hours long. V for Vendetta could work well... I'm just very afraid of bullet time action. :(

i wish aronofsky had gone ahead and done this. but then i don't see that comics need film adaptations any more than novels do. considering hollywood's malicious parodies of from hell and league of extraordinary gentlemen, i don't think i'll watch this.

Paul Greengrass is an amazing director. Bourne Supremacy rocked, but if you want to be blown away by a movie -- check out "Bloody Sunday." It's definitely one of the best films of the decade.

Well, I don't think he chose not to do it -- he's working on The Fountain now, and Paramount really wants Watchmen ready for summer 2006 -- so they wanted a director who'd be available sooner. I'd have a hell of a lot more faith in this if he were involved, though.

How many Moore movies are in production, anyway? The "Destroy the work of Alan Moore" Department must be working double shifts.

Just wait, as soon as Marvel manage to get Miracleman published, Hollywood will announce the adaptation with Pauly Shore as Mike Moran.

Although, unlike almost all of Moore's works, Miracleman would make a brilliant trilogy. Put that in the hands of a capable director, you'd have one of the best action/fantasy films ever made. It really has the makings of a great film, from a truly evil villain to this struggle with inner demons.

Watchmen should be made into 12 movies -- one for each comic. Film them all back to back ala Lord of the Rings. 2 hours each should just about do it.

Actually, I really think it would be best if the comic was adapted as a mini-series. For HBO of course.

There's no way to capture the depth of Watchmen in 2-3 hours but if they focus on Rorschach, Dr. Manhattan and Oxymandais it wouldn't be a bad 2-3 hours to me.
