What were the intentions of creating the wax statue in the first place? They weren't trying to educate people on history... they wanted to generate publicity by creating a controversial replica of a hated dictator.

It's stooping pretty low when you claim that you want to honor those who have died, yet you recreated a wax statue of the very person that put them all to death.

See the issue here?

Edit: I'm not so much defending the guy who ripped the head off the thing as I am against the notion that the wax museum was innocent.

Actually the Wax Hitler was displayed in a Wing of the Museum filled with Famour or Infamous German Politicians and Leaders. Hitler was in the company of Wax Hindenburg etc.

The Germans just need to grow a sack and get over it. Hitler was a bad man. Hitler was real. You cant hide from the facts forever.

I dunno... the Madame Tassaud's wax museum that I saw in Victoria BC had all kinda of baddies, villains, historically repugnant characters.... There was a "house of horrors" sequence with people like Vlad the Impaler, etc.

It's not really a museum... more like a sideshow attraction.

Of course... I did notice there wasn't a Mohammad statue... so maybe there is room to excuse certain characters for culutral sensitivities ;)

WTF? They did WHAT?! Is *nothing* sacred?? ;)
ps. vandalism sucks, the artist worked his butt off, and the model looks quite good... good for a Hitler wax figurine, that is.

Well, having a wax figure decapitated is different than having the artist decapitated.
