I have to say WoW is one well programmed game. I picked it up 3 days ago at the urging of my coworkers and I was surprised that it can run on a slower PC.
Gaming rig;
P4 2.4ghz
1gig DDR ram
GeForce 6800gt
Web PC:
Celeron 1.1ghz
512mb ram
GeforceMX 440
While there is no doubt the fast PC runs it better the slower PC still runs it remarkably well (better than it run EQ1). Last MMORPG I tried on that PC was COH and it ran like garbage.
Order a $6.00 300watt power supply from Newegg during their T-Day special. With that I hope to be able to install my old 9700 on the slower PC and smooth out the framerate.

Hell, people are reporting running it on a Dell 700m laptop, which usually have 1.6Ghz Pentium-M's and they all only have integrated Intel graphics chipsets.
Of course, one could argue that it's not so much that it's well programmed but that it's just not the most taxing thing on the planet judging by screenshots and videos.
Speaking of videos the GUI looks damn confusing whenever I watch any of the videos from the IGNvault website, I guess I'm used to FFXI's more console friendly UI, a bit more streamlined. Then again, I played Asheron's Call at one time, so I guess I could get used to it again. Still debating whether to pick this up - it might not help me in my quest to finish my thesis though.
well, looks like I need to look at this game some. Already some of my old FFXI buddies are in, and I just can't get back into ffxi. I've started my "sell off everything" phase, before giving it to whoever's left in thier, and moving on for good.
for you guys using ctmod and/or gypsymod, is there a way to show how long timed equipment buffs like fishing lures, sharpening stones and shaman weapon buffs have left? that's like the only thing keeping me using cosmos because without it, playing a shaman requires too much checking the screen to see how long your weapon buff thing has before it's gone.
