I say we...to not offend anyone really, but I have some people in mind (and it will be clear who) when I say the following. Secondly, to some degree, I think we are all hypocrites...some moreso than others though. :)

The biggest threat to marriage is not homosexuals getting married. It's adultery.

I'm not saying which is right or wrong (though I have strong beliefs regarding this), I'm just saying that gay marriage is not a threat to marriage.

Terri Schiavo could have been kept alive, yes. But so can thousands of children (who are by the way fully functional human beings that aren't brain-dead*) who are forced to die via malnourishment, all around the World.

*I could be wrong about the status of Terri's mentality, but you have to admit, it is a debated issue...while the thousands of children I'm referring to are CLEARLY not vegetables or in any similar state.

I'm addressing those who feels so passionate and strongly about an issue, people who cite moral values and integrity...but when it comes to addressing bigger and more important issues, fail to make a contribution to it's solution.

I could be wrong though...maybe these very vocal groups who speak loudest against gay marriage, are equally loud when it comes to issues such as adultry. But I'm inclined not to think so since people I know who are against gay marriage have committed adultry. Sure, adultry is the norm...but does that make it ok according to the Bible? Nah...these people against gay marriage will conveniently dismiss what paints them as criminals, and would rather point the finger at someone else.

A child dying in Iraq isn't the best platform by which to bludgeon your fellow Americans about the head and neck with your Bible. Nor is adultery apparently half as interesting as dicks in poopers. You, sir, have no nose for proper American journalism.

Score 1 for common sense: we are all hypocrites. Yes. Don't assume any one preson is above hypocrisy, you'll be sorely disappointed.

but don't blame christianity.

There are 1 billion christians.. are we all supposed to be perfect?

You could sure try to be.

At least worry about the usury and the adultery before you sweat the gays bumpin' parts and the vegetables getting composted.

In a way Iceman, I AM blaming Christians (not all, only the noisy ones on these particular issues), and I'm not blaming Christianity at all, but rather asking these few Christians to follow their own faith before asking others to do so.
