Werewolf |OT| Was it all just a Dream?

Here's a secret: people die in this game. And, *gasp*, maybe even the Sheriff will eventually bite it. If he didn't Deputize anyone before he did... well, guess what? No one else becomes Sheriff and the only person who would have ever been Sheriff would have been Drop!

Man, what an odd reaction, huh. I feel like I'm at a circus just thinking about it.

You've got some nerve to be cute considering about 2 hours ago, you commented on a slip I made which I had already pointed out myself and corrected, and have now misread a role PM.

Oops.

So there could actually be a way to prevent the Sheriff from being reborn.

Drop deputizes X.

We vote out Drop.

We have a town killing role (if one exists) kill X during Night Phase before a new Deputy is made.

However, I don't think this is a smart idea at all. It would also require us to confirm a town killing role exists, and please for the love of god nobody confirm this if you ARE a town killing role.

I think that there might be secret rules in place to prevent the elimination of the Sheriff chain

Just a thought though

This would maybe be something to consider late game, if we have no confirmed townies.

Not now, though. So that's all I'll say on it.

People are going to consider every possibility on Earth since we keep going on about it, but what I had in mind was the Sheriff making the Deputy the person who's about to get lynched that Day. They die before ever being able to become a Sheriff and the next Day comes without a Deputy. Rinse and repeat.

That took you guys a while.

To be fair I should have just told you myself, but I would have preferred to keep it away from the wolves.
In retrospect that didn't make much sense and I should have just said it.

Huh.... that actually seems to work.

Am I missing something because that's a very solid plan. And if mafia ever wants to make use of the Deputy they'd have to spare Drop until somehow we fumble it. A fumble could only really occur if there were two people neck and neck in the votes and people purposely fucked it over so that the Deputized person was left alive. In which case we could assume anyone who sabotaged the process is scum or SK.

I'll be posting very sparingly today due to the holiday but, I think Flux's plan seems a bit too risky to continue on later day stages. But for now it seems good!

That's actually a really good plan. Unless anyone comes up with any major hole in it that's been overlooked, we should try going for it.

I guess the biggest risk would be drop nominating then someone pulling a vote last minute?

But then Drop can use his double vote ;)

That's a pretty cool plan, Drop.

Down the line, if we continue with this idea and Drop gets NKed, then we no longer have the power to double vote. Is everyone ok with that? I think it's fine. It will play out as if Drop was a Mayor.

Like CornBurrito said, whoever does that would be put under suspicion as a werewolf trying to screw us over. The same goes for a Sheriff who wouldn't go along with the plan and would attempt to deputize someone who wasn't about to get lynched.

Better to lose double voting than constantly having the issue of the Sheriff role to take into consideration.

Under this plan, there never should be a sheriff not named Drop.

Worst case is mafia says fuckit and kills Drop and we lock both sides of the conflict out of having a double vote. Town needs double vote a lot less than mafia I feel.

Nothing stopping a wolf from pulling a claim out just before deadline, resulting in some last minute drops. Can't go after everyone in that situation.

Simply make last last minute role claims a policy lynch? We need to work around the sheriff role.

Anyone doing something to change the lynching target after Drop has elected a deputy can be regarded as scum. It gives us a straightforward cutoff point, so it would be pretty hard to hide an attempt to manipulate things. If Drop gives us a half hour warning or something before electing, that gives time for last minute role claims too, in a way that won't interfere with things.

I'm suspicious of Darryl, although I'm not sure if that's just because he's being aggressive.

That said, just out of curiosity, why would scum want to get the deputy role this early on? It seems to me like it'd be a way to unnecessarily put yourself on the spotlight. I could see it if the intent was to somehow get town's trust by deputizing whoever they want, but I don't think whatever amount of trust that would get you, which wouldn't be much IMO, would be worth it. I don't doubt if anyone had some crazy day-1 deputy scum strategy it could well be Darryl though :p

Do you want to be deputy?

Thanks kitty, I see your reply and have nothing further for now, enjoy your thanksgiving.

Ultron

No good tidings for you! I wanted to get a read on you independent of your claim, but I just looked back through the thread and you haven't commented on anything else. Literally not one throwaway line in any of your posts relating to anything other than your claim.

So help us out, anyone standing out to you at the moment? Either as scummy or town? Any notable interactions you'd like to comment on? How do you think deputies should be handled?

Where is Time? I mean if he is in the US then he might have familial obligations, but a check in would be nice.

I'm doing the family dinner then insane shopping thing (my young child wants a paw patrol HQ tower... I hope it's a dog law and not a
werewolf
paw...)

As far as reads, I'm still getting to know some of the new folks (or even new to me folk from other season 2 and 3 games). so far there are no glaring changes in behavior.

Don't really get all the fuss about the deputy, given that we know who has the role. Potentially problematic, I don't disagree, but I'm not sure if it's worth to focus all our energy on that discussion.

Yeah we should probably just not post about anything at all.

Ok here's some quick reads, doing the thanksgiving thing. More later.

-I don't trust Xam. The second reveal seems too convenient. Could be fine, but it's a little weird two are so upfront about it.
-Ultron could be scum and baiting sleepwalkers to roleclaim. But why?
-Re: Deputy - fuck this. This is going to bite us in the ass, guaranteed. I'm more inclined to give Drop the power to do what he wants.
- CB seems suspucious, but I don't know why.

I don't have that much to add on this day. ヽ(。_°)ノ
We don't have too much information to go out from (also it bit me when I tried to be investigative last game).

Are you guys throwing out random votes based on hunches or am I missing something here? An explanation for voting would be nice. >_>

My vote is on Darryl because he is so passive compared to last game it is jarring. I suspect he is scum because of that.

I'm pretty sure everyone who was really aggressive last game has toned it down a bit. Seems to have burned some out that we had to start over.

There's also been other stuff to focus on, like the role claims and deputy issues, which has been dominating the conversation over accusing others. Now that we're moving away from those, things might get a bit more aggressive.

Possibly, but no one wants to throw a target on their back.

Chasing in-actives is actually a viable strategy for days 1 and 2. A lot of Mafia just want to coast until a couple of days go by
