What’s the worst version of a food item you love?

There's a version of Cinnamon Coke without cinnamon, and there's an even worse version of whatever that is, called "Marshmello Coke" or something. It's awful, and it isn't even marshmallow flavored!

Orange juice without pulp. Yuck!

The worst hot chocolate is powdered with water. Or chocolate syrup with water? But those can still taste great. The best hot chocolate used melted Chocolate Cortés hot chocolate bars, milk, and cinnamon. Maybe add a splash of coffee, maybe some vanilla.
When I'm at a Dunkin Donuts I'll ask them to throw in a flavor shot which doesn't traditionally go with hot chocolate, like blueberry or something. Always tastes great. Not as good as making something with Chocolate Cortés though.

American style sweet and sour pork. The original dish is a rich experience that blends taste and texture in a satisfying way. American restaurants either don't sell pork dishes in a Chinese restaurant (!) Or they sell heavily battered pork cubes covered in a bland sugar sauce. It's so gross.

I bought a jar of peanut butter recently which said “no salt.” I figured, eh whatever, can’t be that bad. It’s edible, but my experience is definitely ruined

So my wife is Japanese and she customizes her recipes to what I like. She makes these incredible croquettes and I didn't know that she customized it so when I went to Japan and expected to have authentic heaven I took one bite and was like wtf is this? I had to ask her if I ordered the wrong thing in Japanese. She was like no, the ones I make are customized to you. Now I ask her before ordering. Mostly for me it's things I can't see like gyoza etc. I am not a fan of warm veggies outside of corn or carrots especially *gag* cabbage *shudder*

I love burritos. From any region of Mexico, mission style, whatever.

But, those microwavable burritos from 7-11. The packaging claims it's "Beef, Beans, and Cheese". I am pretty sure it's some kind of cheap beef/soy blend, the beans are basically some kind of paste, and the cheese is some kind of processed sauce. And they are dry. So dry.

For experience... Go to Coahuila México, there are the Best Burritos and Nachos!!

Macaroni and Cheese dinners with the squeeze out cheese sauce that looks like they took congealed blood, packed it with enough preservatives so it's more metal than meal, and then mixed it all up in a bucket of school bus paint.

Those little frozen chicken pot pies

Banquet brand are particularly bad. The little chicken cubes are so rubbery

Especially considering chicken pot pie is just soup in a pastry. I figured factory food processors would have been able to get that one right. Like a softball of a challenge.

McDonald's burgers. They are barely food. I still enjoy them occasionally just because of the relish, but the rest is utter shite.

Big brand American chocolate. Literal vomit.
Almost anything Kraft (or whatever they call themselves these days) make, that they haven't bought from someone else.

Any American 'pizzas'.

Pesto pasta.
I mean, I don't HATE it, but the flavor gets annoying very easily. It's bitter and has a strong and picky after taste.

Also, pre-baked focaccia is absolute shite. DON'T BUY IT.

instant noodles. THE WORST are the cheap supermarket brand ones, Lost the Pot Noodle, Maggi, and Super Noodles. These abominations:

they are disgusting, vile, and rancid. no matter what you do they end up being a gooey mushy mess and the flavouring is bland.

the BEST brands are these bad boys:

Agreed on both counts McDonald's burgers are so bland and American chocolate taste like vomit especially Hershey's just the smell alone 🤢

When non turks make "Kebab Döner". They just cant do it.
OMG, yes. Tried a Döner here in Mexico and they didn’t even have garlic sauce for it. Just the typical Havanero-stuff. How dare you!

Dominos Pizza in Amsterdam was great, but in every other country, they seem to have forgotten how to make Pizza.

McDonalds Signature burgers are ok, especially the one with Bacon and caramel-onions.

Frozen grocery store jalepeño poppers and similar things taste fine, but they don't cut right with the teeth, so I end up with all the green and 80% of the rest in my mouth in one bite, which is not right. From a restaurant (even a fast food restaurant), you can bite into it and take a properly sized bite

Any ketchup that isn't Heinz or (I'm being generous here) Huntz. There's just such a massive difference in flavor and consistency with off-brand ketchup, it's like a whole different topping.
