What AAA games have launched with zero technical/performance issues in recent memory?

Really? I remember it being pretty much a locked 30 but dipping momentarily when you activate a power.

Either way, when you consider the world and physics engine, it's a technical marvel.
The framerate suffered a lot the more companions you had with you and during the most hectic combat scenarios with explosions, a lot of ragdoll, fire etc.(You know, when a stable framerate is the most needed).

If you barely used explosive arrows, always had only 1companion with you, and avoid most of the hardest combat scenarios then it was...fine, definitely not locked, but i have pc sensibility for framerate so i probably notice more than switch\console only players (not a brag, it's just how it is when you play with locked framerate 99% of games).

I had to actively only bring one or 2 companions top instead of all 4 because the framerate wasn't acceptable enough.

It was a technical marvel (at least the physics part, the game is kinda ugly graphically, let's be real) but nintendo chose to go the gimmicky way with their consoles instead of making a powerful home console so it's their fault if the game doesn't run flawlessly, just cause 4 has a huge amount of physics and destruction (probably more than zelda but with not as much elements like fire or water interacting with each others) and people weren't gentle with it when it was not running good on consoles, nintendo doesn't get a pass just because.

Super Mario Bros Wonder is probably the smootest game I've ever played, basically perfect from start to finish. Nintendo coocked well with this one.

I thought nowadays, we define AAA games by budget. No way that game had even a 10th of the budget most big games now have.
 
Not on pc, the game had (not sure if still has) problem with steam input so many people (like me) weren't even able to shoot their bows at random moment, disabling steam input didn't worked for everyone.

Also the volume of the cutscenes was super low compared to the rest of the game but they fixed this one already.

Not groundbreaking bugs in theory, but it forced me to use a fucking dual sense (that somehow didn't had the problem as often as other controllers) in a game where i have to aim with super precision and with zero auto-aim against super aggressive enemies that can oneshot me (i hate symmetrical sticks) so it was somehow more detrimental than any visual\ai bug i had in 82 hours of cyberpunk pc at launch ironically enough.

I encountered the audio bug on day one but they fixed that pretty quickly in fairness.

Never encountered the controller issues though as I now use a dualsense for all of my PC gaming, so I guess that's why. It's most likely how they tested it as well.

I had problems while using the dual sense aswell, just less common, so it was very random, like the controller compatibility with stalker 2, some people get it to work, some people don't.

When using a dualsense on games with native support just disable steam input. You can do it for each game specifically in the properties or you can do it in the Steam global settings (the latter will require you to remember to turn it back on when you want to play a game that doesn't support it).

Just check on this list, if the game is there you're good to disable steam input:

 
AAA this year? I'm trying to remember I've got/seen. Tekken 8, Stellar Blade both perfect. Rebirth had that bad looking performance mode, but otherwise excellent. DD2 was so messy with that unlocked frame rate.
 
Loads have not that I worry about a game with a bug it in or games that have the odd frame rate dip.

I grew up in the era when people weren't pussy's or the bloody social media crybabies.

The era of when you just hoped your ZX Spectrum game would load, the era of when no one gave a toss about the appalling frame rate of Zelda 64, Golden Eye 64, Star Fox Snes, Super Ghouls N Ghosts Snes, Daytona USA Saturn, Shadow Of The Colossus PS2.

Thank Christ we didn't have Digital Foundry in those days far from classics they're all be branded as unplayable

I don't use the dual sense at all unless i'm forced to do so, my other controllers works fine 99,99% of the times, but thanks anyway.

(Btw i disabled steam input while using the dual sense with horizon and the problem was still there, just random, even the devs said that disabling steam input wasn't a final solution, they still listed the problem in the patch notes even after 2-3 patches).

Yeah, forgot about the companions.

I turned them all off apart from the bird dude for the boost. The rest were pointless and got in the way.
 
Almost everything that comes out of Sony studios, their games may not be to everyone's taste, of course, and this is a matter of taste. But the quality bar for their projects is very high compared to the rest of the industry.
 
That would be stellar blade
Stellar blade is a very small game compared to veilguard, the bigger the game the harder is to make it with virtually no problems.

I think veilguard still take the cake given the size of the game (and taash fake dick)
 
Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Easy 120 FPS, no crashes, no bugs.

Not sure if it can be considered AAA, but the game was in development hell for a long time.
 
Tears of the Kingdom.

Which is incredible when you consider it's basically running on a toaster.

Framerate in that game was far from "zero problems".

It was a miracle on switch, but hardly perfect.
There were definitely performance issues, especially when using ultrahand, but BOTW/TOTK were basically the first virtually bug free open world games ever made and that should be acknowledged.

No they weren't, sony open worlds are usually ultra polished and some of them were released before botw or at the same time.
 
But... but... that is how every game of that "type" should be. 🤔
I was pointing that out because if you don't play on ultra hard, you have a bit of autoaim with horizon.

I disable autoaim when i can but not every game let you do that.

Also, horizon on ultra hard is tough as nails, it's not your average tps, forbidden west even more than zero dawn.

Strangely enough, i think selene was straight.

Also, it can't be returnal, that game was losing 20-30 frames during the most hectic moments, hardly perfect.

It also had a big bug that let you cheat the game to make it easy.

Many Nintendo Switch games have no patch years after initial release, already perfect on 1.0
 
yep veilguard. baldurs gate 3 outside of the xbox version/save issue.
the only ones that seem to have major issues are ubisoft games and thats even after delays.
 
Outside of Pokémon, maybe every Nintendo game ever

Others... Yakuza? Don't remember problems with Forza 5 too
