What animal do these eggs belong to?

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated

These were found under a tarp that was covering a stack of boards in my front lawn. Now, I live in the Houston area, so the spot they were in was bound to get pretty hot during the day, although the area had a fair bit of condensation in the morning. I'm guessing they belong to some sort of snake (especially considering it'd be pretty difficult for a bird to work its way under there) I just have no idea what kind. The eggs have kind of a rough surface with a few blue splotches. Call me curious. Thanks.

Do rattle snakes make nests??

Heh, sorry, this warrants explanation. The eggs had to be moved. I couldn't bring myself to just throw them away, so they're inside a bucket near a similar area with a little hay thrown in it.

How big are they? They look pretty big in that picture but there is nothing to compare them to.

Sorry about that. Here's one in my hand. I'm your fairly normal-sized guy, so hopefully that'll give you a better idea of scope.

well if you found them on the ground they are most probably snakes, take a flashlight out it up close to the egg and if the eggs are mature enough you might see a shape, you will see if its a bird or snake

Hold them against a very bright light, you should be able to see through them. You might be able to see a recognizable embryo if they've been there long enough.

edit: hmmm... back to reading 101...
