What are some truly bad games that are just ridiculous and hilarious?

So yesterday I was watching this video, I remember this game. Not that I ever played it, but this video perfectly shows what a ridiculous game this is. It makes zero sense, has no logic, has utterly ridiculous voice acting and just genuinely makes you wonder what the fuck these devs were thinking. 😂

But holy shit if it isn't entertaining to watch.

So yeah, post yours here, I'm sure there's way more.

Oh easy. Balan Wonderworld.

I'm convinced those praising Deadly Premonition are in on some dumb running gag.

The game sucks on all levels
I will not sit here and listen to this nonsense.

Deadly Premonition is the best bad game ever made.

(It's the story and the quirk that makes it endearing. Either you like that b-movie camp or not)

If you want to cringe, those early Xbox 360 era JRPGs are a goldmine

Yeah I have given up on those games because iirc there wasn't a option for japanese voices. And I can't and won't deal with ear raping English dubs in jrpgs. That dinner dinner part is so bad, lmao.

And lyml in Star Ocean is......yeah...

Yes! I never got this either.

Genuinely curious what makes it good.

I think it's the sheer strangeness of it. The weirdness of the characters in particular. For instance, Francis York Morgan (lead character) is apparently schizophrenic and has conversations with a voice in his head named Zack about old movies and other nonsense. Other characters are equally weird.

The game was consciously aping the qualities of Twin Peaks, a show by David Lynch. Have you seen that? If so, that is some of the "weirdness" that the game trades off of. Francis York Morgan is a direct reference to the main character in Twin Peaks (I forget his name). I'm just scratching the surface here. The Twin Peaks weirdness pervades the game.

People who say that it's "so bad that it's good" are missing this piece. The game is good because it is so weird, so strange - and because it embraces its weirdness enthusiastically. The "bad" aspects of the game (e.g., poor performance) are a sideshow. The real charm is how weird and unique the game's characters are.

I believe any form of human expression can be art, even if the end result is a pile of dogshit.
I don't know why they see a bad game and consider entire "game not art" even tho many different artist work on one game.

We have MANY terrible music made but that doesn't mean music are not art….just like everything made by man it doesn't always will turn out great.

Agreed my man. Imo being good or bad isn't what defines art, but the fact that some person put their feelings and a little part of themselves into creating something new out of nothing.

Oh, and Gollum! Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet.
That game has 100 ridiculous and 100 hilarious. Also pitiful, preposterous, shameful, despicable, disgusting and perhaps just about any negative adjective.

If you add an apology letter for how bad your game is, you are truly bottom tier. And of top of that, the letter was filled with errors.

Deadly Premonition but it's also very good

You saved face with that :messenger_grinning_sweat:.

Deadly Premonition is legit one of my favorite games of all time.

Genuinely curious what makes it good.

It's a title with great ambition made on a shoestring budget. Imagine if Kojima actually wrote likeable characters.

Game play is not the strong suit but the world but the world and characters are some of the best.

If you're remotely a fan of Twin Peaks season 1 and 2, think of it as an unofficial adaptation in terms of the broad plot and character outline. Even if you're not and want to play an ambitious AA ass AA game, it's a good choice.
