I don't know why they see a bad game and consider entire "game not art" even tho many different artist work on one game.
We have MANY terrible music made but that doesn't mean music are not art….just like everything made by man it doesn't always will turn out great.
Holy crap those character designs.
We shit on a lot of modern western games for their awful "modern audience" character designs and for a good reason, but these fan service weeb characters are just as bad.
The issue with Star Ocean 4 is not character design but rather its 3D models thats really bad.....Which is something Tri Ace is struggle with most of their games.Holy crap those character designs.

2D art works is not bad at all.
The story and character is not great but in my opinion it has best combat in modern Star Ocean games.looking for this game to buy.
do it, it's one of the unique JRPG out there.Which reminds me, I need to buy Resonance of Fate for PS4 again in the future.
Thanks, Danjin, I already have it on PS3 and PC.The story and character is not great but in my opinion it has best combat in modern Star Ocean games.

If you're familiar with Twin Peaks, it has that sort of vibe. Personally I never thought it was actually a good game but it is pretty hilarious.
I think it's the sheer strangeness of it. The weirdness of the characters in particular. For instance, Francis York Morgan (lead character) is apparently schizophrenic and has conversations with a voice in his head named Zack about old movies and other nonsense. Other characters are equally weird. And the dialog is goofy as hell at times.
The game was consciously aping the qualities of Twin Peaks, a show by David Lynch. Have you seen that? If so, that is some of the "weirdness" that the game trades off. Francis York Morgan is a direct reference to the main character in Twin Peaks (I forget his name). I'm just scratching the surface here. The Twin Peaks weirdness pervades the game. Several characters are direct references.
People who say that it's "so bad that it's good" are missing this part. The game is good not because it's bad (e.g., has poor performance and wonky controls). It's good because it is so weird, so strange - and because it embraces its weirdness enthusiastically. The "bad" aspects of the game are a sideshow. The real charm is how weird and unique the game is (characters and dialog in particular).
Oh, and Gollum! Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet.
That game has 100 ridiculous and 100 hilarious. Also pitiful, preposterous, shameful, despicable, disgusting and perhaps just about any negative adjective.
If you add an apology letter for how bad your game is, you are truly bottom tier. And of top of that, the letter was filled with errors.
You saved face with that.
Deadly Premonition is legit one of my favorite games of all time.
It's a title with great ambition made on a shoestring budget. Imagine if Kojima actually wrote likeable characters.
Game play is not the strong suit but the world but the world and characters are some of the best.
If you're remotely a fan of Twin Peaks season 1 and 2, think of it as an unofficial adaptation in terms of the broad plot and character outline. Even if you're not and want to play an ambitious AA ass AA game, it's a good choice.
The Walking Dead Destinies
This could've been decent but... no.

I remember enjoying Two Worlds on the original Xbox. It ran so poorly, there were framerate hitches that lasted 6 or 7 seconds. The character design, the movement, the combat, the enemies - it was all trash, and I thought it was hilarious. I'm not sure I would have the same reaction now, 20 years later, but at the time I thought it was funny as hell.
Damn, Kojima doesn't write likeable characters in your opinion? I never really thought about it I guess, but off the top of my head comes some Metal Gear Solid characters. I have Death Stranding but have yet to play it. But the characters aren't likeable there? Then what is all this immense praise for? Story, gameplay and atmosphere only?
Speaking of Deadly Premonition, didn't that creator also make D3 for Xbox One? I tried that briefly.
Kojima's character are fine but too pretentious. There's a certain earnestness about DP's character progression that makes it so lovable. When the game starts, your protagonist comes off as a dick to the other major NPC's in the game and you can see that play out, you're basically an outsider FBI agent who sees everyone in the town as a suspect but they do such a great job building rapport over the course of the game that when the late-game twists start flying, you're genuinely left befuddled. Mechanically, it plays like an Xbox 360 era AA open world game but the shooting etc is not what you play the game for. It's for the world-building, plot and characters. I recommend people play the game on easy so combat is the least of the problems.
And, yeah, D3 was fine but it was an unfinished game so we never really got to see his full vision
Now, being a massive fan of DP (no, not that kind), I do have to be perfectly honest and say that if you ever get a chance to play Deadly Premonition, consider it a one-and-done game, don't play the sequel. They went the Highlander route and ruined a lot of the good from the first game.
You're better off getting it now or whenever you're willing to spend 20 euros because Deadly Premonition has never gone on sale since it was relisted on the Microsoft Store almost five years ago.I definitely want to give it a shot now, but I'll have to see if I can find a copy somewhere here or online because it's 20 euros in the Xbox store. But perhaps during a BC sale.
That's the one.Omfg, is that the one where you walk through a hallway and only at specific spots there is smoke where you can hide for zombies? The whole hallway should be full of smoke but it's just certain areas, logic and common sense 0,0%
Fahrenheit has one the best intro I've ever seen in a video game then it went retarded after that. It's so well written that I thought it's gonna maintain that whole vibe throughout the game. It's like David Cage keeps losing braincells while developing the game. Shit was so baffling. The hell is wrong with that dude?David Cage's games for dogshit writing.
That's the one.The stealth is very... straight forward, you might say.
This is not s bad pick at all!Too Human?
Thank god that me and my brother played the Japanese dubbed version, holy fucking shit bro!
There's a limit to what I can and am willing to put up with.
