what are the rarest gamecube games?

I can't believe Disney's Party is rare, though. That was the ultimate pass-on-it-for-$5-at-Circuit-City game for the longest time!

Disney's Party and Sports Soccer are nowhere near as rare as the Disney football and basketball games (which are the rarest GC games by a mile), they're just a little harder to find than a lot of the other NOT RARE AT ALL stuff listed in this thread so far.

I've offered several times to mod Gamecubes for free (you pay shipping to/from me) specifically so people could try out Drill Land, and not once has anyone taken me up on it. :\

Is this offer still open?!?!

I'll show a Play-Asia invoice :)

Disney Football is $22, Buy it Now, complete and apparently "mint,"

Disney Basketball is $55, Buy it Now, complete,

Thanks, just bought the Football one. :) That's a great price. A lot of people don't know how hard it is to find.

But you bought it to play, sit on for a few months/years and profit, or to just eventually have a rare GC game collection?

:D

Yeah, profit isn't the motivation. The only way you someone could profit significantly from video games is to find old, ultra-rare games at flea markets or garage sales, and chances of that happening were slim even 10 years ago. It's just my mini-obsession to own every console video game released in North America. I'm not too far away.

edit: Besides, many times these kids games are a lot of fun in an 8-bit gameplay kinda way.

Next question... just how much money do you have, and how?

I've been keeping games instead of trading them in for at least 15 years now. They amass very quickly when you don't trade them back in. Also used to manage a video game store who's business was 95% in used games, so I ended up with a lot of stuff through there.

By saying this you gotta KNOW that somebody would come out and ask for a few pictures :D

So, post some pictures :D

I'm in the middle of moving so none of the older games have a location yet, I've only set up the new (PS2/Xbox/GC) ones so far. Here's a pic on my ultra-shitty camera phone...

Top three rows are PS2, about 340. Middle three rows are Xbox, about 350. Bottom is Gamecube, about 90.

Wow, I got that Superman game for $10, too.

I gave them that much because it wasnt the crap romp that was Superman 64.

How about Tom and Jerry - War of the Whiskers? Sequel to Tom and Jerry Fists of Furry on the N64, and the first Tom and Jerry game with a T rating.

That is such a collectable its a complete crap game, too.

Oh, and Intellevision Lives? (God that was such a crap port)

There's a Micro Machines game that was supposedly released in some Southern California Toys R Us and nowhere else.

I've heard about that mythical game. Supposedly it was here in Sacramento for a bit -- I heard it was recalled, for some odd reason.

The GameCube kiosk demo discs are fairly rare, although not quite "games". I have most of 'em -- still looking for a few, though.

I bought Cubivore in "like new" condition last week at EB for 9.99.

The real rarity on Cube is:

:lol

This coming from a guy who only owns a Cube. Great Sys!

I haven't seen Beach Strikers in any bargin bins, or used shops for that matter. I hope it's not rare.

Best Buy had a couple of $10 sales on it, but usually no copies in (or left) when I'd check. I wanted to pick it up because of the secret Sega characters, really.

I bought my Doshin the giant for 10 Euro, would not pay more for this game, since this is the normal price in Europe.
What is quite rar here is Tetris Worlds. Just sold mine for 30 Euro which is quite good for such an old game.

Some guy just traded in the NCAA College Basketball 2K3 today for GC at work. I am probably gonna get it tomorrow for Ebay purposes. Is it worth much opened? Its in good shape and I can get it for about $7.

You should see the bookcase on the other side of the room. The shelves are practically u-shaped. Guess I should get some brackets one of these days before my shelving crushes one of my dogs.

An opened copy should fetch about $40, depending on how good it is. I can hardly believe it, but Gamecrazy tracked down the only sealed copy left in their network for me and I'll get it this week... that's worth over $100, and the same store also had a copy of Moto GP 2 for Xbox, which is also very, very hard to find in sealed condition.

Good luck. The basketball and football games are very hard to find, while the soccer and party games show up now and then, but usally no less than $40+. There were other GC Disney games, but nowhere near as rare.
Wow, really? I got a copy of Disney Sports Soccer when I wrote for Planet GameCube to review, and I still have it. It's opened obviously, but I could get some money for it?

Oh, so aside from trying to purchase all the games ever made, you're trying to buy all the books ever made? GOOD LUCK.

But seriously, I'll move in with you if you need someone to watch Spaced with.

Really!

I'll sleep in the garage.

It's bending!
I agree. AHAHAHA KIDDING.

Cubivore is a good fun game if any of you can find it. Highly simplistic and may not be worth the ridiculous price but if you're a collector do take the plunge.

I thought we agreed on it, and you went ahead and won an eBay auction for the game, but ended up getting ripped off by the seller? After that fiasco it was never mentioned again, and last I heard you were looking for a non-eBay source for the game.. At any rate, I'd still be willing to do it if you can muster the courage to bid on another auction, or if you can find it somewhere else!

But don't you remember that I ended up getting the game anyway through JackFrost when he had extra copies to sell to GAF members? Then you got all upset when I thanked him (or was it BuddyC?) for buidling it up so much that I still got it after getting burnt and "forgot" about your recommendations? :)
