Death From Above 1979 - You're a Woman, I'm a Machine

I've listened to this album every day for a span of months, and I'm still not tired of it.

I'm going to their show on April 2nd, so now I'm listening to it even more. And seeing them on Conan last week was fucking awesome.

I listed this earlier in the week, but at the time hadn't really gone through it enough to comment. Fast forward several days and probably twenty spins later, I find myself -- dare I say -- frothing with anticipation for more. If you were turned off by Dizzee Rascal, or if you've got even a remote interest in the grime scene, get. this. disc. Virtually everything on here is superior to Dizzee (and I <3 his stuff), particularly in the delivery: much less abrasive, although the two female acts might still cause some bleeding if you've got delicate ears. But if you like M.I.A., for example, you're golden.

After hearing Road, it's kind of baffling, really, how Dizzee managed to break in the US before some of these other guys. Kano, Roll Deep, Wonder and Plan B, Terror Danjah... a lot of this stuff could be huge here, given the right exposure. And I have no idea what the Streets are doing on here. As fantastic as Skinner's last album was, he feels out of place in company like this, "Fit" remix or not.

Travis - 12 Memories.

This album has been growing on me for the last little while... and I believe that it's massively underrated.

There's a very strong sense of resignation and life-affirmation [yes those are opposites, but whatever] on this, and I really enjoy it. If you like Eels, you'll probably enjoy this.

Not a music fan but I got this from iTunes when randomly checking Oasis songs after seeing a thread about them... I've had it on loop for days now. :lol
