What can Microsoft announce at E3 to turn it around?

The 360 is my favorite console ever, and I've been playing since the Atari days. But the One is leaving me sort of cold, which I never expected. I still believe MS can turn things around with a great E3. Personally, I would love to see what they can do with Halo on next gen, and a great Halo showing would really get me to believe again. Also, if the rumor about dedicated servers is true, that would also go along way.

So with hope, I created a GIF. What will it take to turn things around for you guys?

Microsoft has barely touched on any XBONE titles and they said theyre saving it for E3. So since they already had a presentation on the console I expect sweet ass titles to blow us away. Totally gunna happen.

This years E3 will be insane on all parts. So excited, best E3 ever?

Gears of War TV series

In all seriousness, they would probably have to ditch all of the drm stuff, which won't happen, to get my purchase.

Could be, although i'm not getting myself too hyped. When I do I always leave disappointed.

Cancel all their current plans to restrict loaning/selling games, cancel the daily online authentication, and make kinect optional.

Yeah I know this ain't happening.

Honestly I think the only thing that could save the xbox for me is if Sony announces that the ps4 will have the same DRM stuff as the xbox. That way I would be equally pissed off at both companies.

I'm still shocked by the notion about the 360 as favourite console ever after 25 years of gaming, but i'll try

- no more blocked used games, no more always online, KOTOR 3 exclusive

Games.

People will grumble yet probably buy the box. They always do.

MS still has a huge Brand they created. If E3 is disappointing with games, if price is too much, they will have suffered third gen curse.

I do think Sony has a major advantage this gen so far.

For the record, the 360 never interested me and the One sure isn't helping.

I'm sure if the price is right, and they have enough Dudebro shooters, they will do okay. Not win this gen, but stay afloat.

Yeah.. i sorta agree for the last few years. But for me theres so much to be excited about from all 3 major companies.

But im a nintendo fanboy really so give me HD mario/mario kart/smash bros and im yours (and thats all guaranteed to happen)

Yup, no game will save them in my eyes. They have to reverse their anti-consumer measures and make some (even vague) statement on how they regret exploring that path.

The Kinect thing I can still learn to deal with even though it is pretty much gonna create a headache setting up and moving around when I have to.

But yeah, online requirement for the console to be functional, and physical disc based game DRM have to go in order for me to take the console seriously.

As I posted in another topic, as long as those things don't get removed, I will only be paying attention to the 360 part of their conference & the 3rd party next gen games. All X1 exclusive next-gen games will be treated like tech demos.

15 Exclusives?
Many of them Kinect BS?

King Kaz says:
Killzone: ShadowFall
Knack
DriveClub
TheWitness
Infamous3
Super Stardust
another Project from Super Stardust Studio
Blacklight: Retribution
Primal Carnage: Genesis
NaughtyDog Project
SantaMonica Project
ReadyAtDawn Project
MediaMolecule Project
Quantic Dream Project
Planetside 2
MLB:TheShow
Maybe GT6
Maybe TheLastGuardian
lol
Maybe Agent

Those are 19, and thats pre E3.

If you think about it, 15 Exclusives isn't that exciting. Especially after seeing their casual dudebro approach I wouldn't put to much hope in those titles.
It could be very good, but it could also be pretty disappointing.

They don't need to save me. I'm so pumped for the new system, can't wait.

Plus Dedicated servers for Xbox live games is amazing, I don't see sony doing this. This is incredible when it comes to online.a nd makes the price of Gold worth it. Halo on the new live system will be fantastic, no more bullshit hosting issues.

Also 15 exclusives from Microsoft studios in year one, I think 360 owners have nothing to worry about when it comes to the One.

I'm sure that once they start displaying games, assuming they don't pull wallguy or whatever out, sentiment will begin to soften and people will start to warm up if only ever so slightly to Xbox One.

However, my position is solidified.

The continued and heightened emphasis on features I do not care about, Kinect, forced online, paywalls around functionality that is free everywhere else on the planet, they way they have steered the industry towards more and more nickel-and-diming for content at a rapid pace since 360 debuted, the lack of backwards compatibility, the lack of a guarantee that even the games bought on One will be playable in a few years.... there is no way on this earth I am going to support that vision of the future.

That future might come regardless, but I am not going to continue to help Microsoft achieve it. Other people might like it, might welcome it, and good on them. I hope you find great enjoyment. I don't like or welcome it, so I am tapping out.

* No Gold fee required for peer to peer multiplayer, day one demos, or apps. Gold is shifted around to provide a collection of services instead (clan integration & ladders, unlimited friends list size, extra storage, dedicated servers, an ad-free environment, etc).

* Full offline mode supporting playback of games on disk. Diskless playback requires internet connection at install and/or deauthorization. No 24 hour phone-home.

* Kinect can be fully disabled - and I mean a hardware off switch or unplugging the damn thing.

* Announcing a game, any game, where your car transforms depending upon how awesome you are. You took this from us Microsoft, and we haven't forgotten. Oh no, we haven't.

This would be a good start.

The confirmation of the Xbox mini that when plugged into the xbone allows you to play 360 retail and arcade titles through it.

Online multiplayer not behind a pay wall.
