Well, I'm a Junior in HS and I'm starting to think about colleges and such. I was wondering about NYU and UCLA in particular. If you do to one of these schools... what was your GPA/SAT score Junior Year/Overrall? And, if you don't go to one of the afformentioned schools, just state the University you go to and answer the other questions..

for NYU, shoot for 85 and upwards overall GPA, with 1300 and upwards SAT. UCLA would be tougher I believe.

I got a 1340 combined SAT (highest at one time was 1330).

edit - About UCLA....a lot of students from my class went there (so they would be freshmen) and their GPA and SAT scores went all over the place. Some people with outstanding GPAs and SAT scores, even lots of extracurriculur stuff did not get in and people with stuff that I wouldn't think would get them into UCLA actually did. I really can't explain it =(

I don't remember what my GPA was since my school used some idiotic 11 point scale.

I took the ACT instead of the SAT (since that is what most midwest universities prefer) and received a 31.

No chance there I don't think :-\ I'm beginning to think I'm screwed. I can probably pull off 1300+ on the SAT, but my GPA isn't very good. Overall it's about 75 or so.

I went to UC Berkeley with a GPA of pi (3.14, DUH2U!) and an SAT of 1270. I guess they considered me well-rounded since I lacked l337 scores.

Though, I heard UCLA is technically harder to get into.

University of North Florida. Mostly a place for the Floridian fuck-up kids that weren't good enough to get into UF or FSU, but still want an in-state tuition discount. Their pre-law and mock trial program is one of the best though. My SAT was 1460, but that didn't really matter considering that they seem to let in any idiot that's got the cash.

It really depends on your major when you're applying to places like UCLA or Berkley. You could have crappy sats but choose a crappy major and you'll get in. If you choose a popular one, you're going to need higher sat scores and gpa. (i had a 3.5 something and 1250) I recommend you go to community college and then transfer. I know so many people that got low 3s and like less than 1100 and got into USC and UCLA from CC. I made the mistake of just going to Long Beach State (cheaper and compared to the UC schools that I got into, this was a better choice IMO) when I could have just went to a CC and transfered to USC or UCLA later. (Although not really... Really hot girls and I plan on getting a masters somewhere else anyway) Although it is possible to transfer from a Cal State to a UC... (Friend had a 3.15 at Cal State Fullerton and transfered to UCLA) just harder.

I go to NYU. My GPA was 4.3 out of 4 (Yeah, that's correct), and my SAT was 1390. I'm in Film, though, so I don't know how much these things mattered.

UCLA class of 2004. My memory is a bit hazy on GPA, weighted was 4.1x. SAT-I score was 1420 and SAT-II combined was just above 2000. I pretty much messed around my freshman year and finally found my calling after changing majors 3 times. But eh, I'm doing accounting which I enjoy, at a videogame company, which is ideal. So it's all good in the end.

Fresno City College (Fresno California) I didnt get my foriegn language requirment done in HS. So i'm having to do that now. Then i plan on going to UC Santa Cruz. I'm already in a program that will get me in as long as i get 60 units out of the way.

3.9 all through out highschool.

SAT: 870, second time 940, thrid time 820, forth time 918 =/ God knows why i had this problem.
