I mainly game on my PS5, but when I do game on PC I have both a desktop and a new laptop I just bought:

Desktop: Homebuilt in 2016/i7-5820K/EVGA 980Ti Classified GPU/32GB DDR4
Laptop: Asus Zenbook 14 Pro OLED (just got this)/i9-13900H/nVidia RTX 4060/32GB DDR5

i7-13700 (non k). My only complaint is that I have to leave my RAM at 4800 cl40 or I get random crashes. Have tried multiple RAM kits, same result. Could be the motherboard, could be the locked SA voltage on non-k CPU; I'm not sure. It's stable at 4800 and performance is fine, so I'm not interested in pursuing it further. I'm still pretty happy with it.

Also ARM I guess because of Switch.

5800X3D

I got it because I wanted to prolong the life of my AM4 system and I think it will turn out to be the longest I'll be able to get out of a platform before needing to upgrade the whole thing.

Thanks AMD.

I've been using my newly acquired xbox series s quite a bit since I got it too.

7950X3D pretty good CPU, I need it for work, does not hurt for games tho

Monster CPU..

With 138 votes, I'm surprised at a few things.

I was expecting Intel's 12 and 13th gen to have the most CPUs, and there it is.
But I was not expecting the 3Dvcache CPUs to be in second place, and so close to first place.
I was expecting more Zen1 and Zen+ CPUs. But it seems most have already upgraded.
I was expecting more people for the normal Zen4 CPUs, without the 3dvcache.
And there is still a decent percentage of people with older AMD and Intel CPUs.

12700k
runs way cooler than expected.

that's rough. probably mobo. i assume you've tried turning off xmp profiles and tried manual OCing.
im at 6600 cl34 and i was disappointed with that.

AMD 7950X3D, 16 cores/32 threads. Bought it 4 months ago. At the same time I bought 64GB of DDR5 RAM and got an AM5 motherboard.

Previous CPU was a 9900K (8c/16t) that i had since mid 2019. What a difference. In some games I'm getting more than double FPS. I had upgraded to a 4080 and i guess it was bottlenecked.

I could've got a 7800X3D but i don't just game on my PC. the extra 8c/16t come in useful. I was originally looking at the 13900K but it runs too damn hot and uses a fuck load of power.

In idle this CPU runs hotter than my old 9900K by ~10C but when under load it's about the same in games (60C) and under intensive workloads it runs cooler. The 9900K could go to 95-100C but this CPU doesn't go past 89C no matter what I do. I'm using the same cooler/case/fans as I did with the 9900K.
Exact same here. The idle power draw is a lot higher than my old i7 7700k but under load, even a minor gaming load, is night and day. The performance and power draw under load is exceptional in comparison to Intel. I can never go Intel again with their power hungry performance cores and stupid eco cores.

Though I wish I would have waited for the 7800X3D
