What do you predict that the PSP's NPD number for March will be?

Closest wins a prize. (not really) Again, I'm sure there will be plenty of units sold that aren't on the chart, but I'm specifically talking about our monthly NPD.

That's not an option. NPD doesn't track every PSP.

you know what i mean.

if sony has a million available on launch day, they'll sell a million in march

if sony has 500,000 available at launch, they'll sell 500,000 in march

And if that were my question, you'd have the right answer.

If i had to give a number, i'd say 900k. They'll have just shy of 800k available on launch day. Those will sell out, and stores will get restocked with another 100k the next week.

as close to all of them as distribution quirks and the incompleteness of npd's data will permit. i don't follow sales numbers closely enough to hazard an estimate. this thing is going to be huge.

I agree that the PSP is going to be huge, but do you guys actually think they'll sell through a million units in a week? That seems like a high number, especially with the $250 price tag.

What is the fastest selling system of all time? Or at least fastest to a million here in North America? How many DS's were sold in the first launch week? Through the holidays as a whole?

I'm not even going to venture to guess what the number of PSP units sold is going to be, but 800k+ seems to be kinda high to me. At least in the first week.

Considering that the DS sold 479,000 in it's first week (which was the week that ended with Black Friday) I think the PSP will sell 400,000 in March.

7 days to sell with Easter weekend in the middle...what kind of effect does Easter tend to have on such sales? Any?

We'll see what Sony says shipment are in the US and I'll predict that at least 80% of them will be sold. ;)
Sony said shipments would be 1 million to North America this fiscal year, right?

Depends on whether The Passion sees a PSP release.

That would be hysterical if the two UMD movie releases available at launch were the free Spidey 2 pack-in and The Passion.

depends on how many units they can get into store shelfs...if they ship 500k on 3/31 it's not going to arrive in March.

Yes, but they've been wrong before, the second (or third) shipments might not make it to shelves soon enough to be counted in sales for the month, but will be counted as shipments by Sony. I'm hoping they actually give a launch number for day 1. We'll see.

predictions for how long it will take to see porn released on UMD?

Does Sony have to approve movie releases like they do with games? Is there a royalty to produce UMD movies? Can anyone but Sony actually press UMDs, for that matter?

If there are at least 650,000 systems at launch, I'll go with a 480,000 number. But they will probably say 500,000 sold.

No, no, no...

It's The Passion... the game. You play the part of either the roman gladiators / jewish pharisees, or that of you know who.

Like KOTOR, choose the good or the bad side.

Isn't Androgynous Satan a secret character if you can survive all the secret bonus torture rounds?
