I'd say somewhere in the 30's because I've seen guys approaching their 30's and then guys older than 30. Upper 30's statistically. Generally Male. I think that's wherever you go though. Not to say there isn't a large female presence, but it becomes pretty niche when it does. My wife is the only female I know who plays a game from start to finish. She made a comment to me about it once.

The age thing, in all honestly is awesome, given how ageism sucks and how LiaB. That discussion has already been had. Lord knows we don't need to see countless threads about age again. Remember that?

With the strong 16bit era love, that's beyond just people who were buying their own consoles at that time. It's people whose childhoods were defined by that era. Outside of that, the oldest are balanced by the youngest.

This forum has been around a long time and some accounts are really old. But how often do "older" people join an enthusiast place like this as opposed to hanging around a long time.

My guess is we have a lot of older posters, but the new ones are probably averaging under 30. I'm guessing average age of 33.

As for male / female ration, I'm guessing 92% male. But not going to be shocked if EL reveals something much closer to 67.
