Well that's probably me when it comes to the Disney parks. I really don't care for any of their media but I sure do love Disneyland.
Well, that’s kinda me. I enjoy the park…with my kids. If some kid would ask me to give up my place for a ride I would do it since…they are kids, the attractions are for them. I’m just there to make sure my kids don’t kilo themselves doing something stupid.

I absolutely love Disneyland. Yes, modern Disney sucks but at least they still have some decent rides.

My two favorite are the Haunted Mansion and the Indiana Jones ride.

I like classic or retro Disney. I wouldn’t mind visiting Epcot again or staying in one of their honeymoon suites. Outside of that, I’ve got no real desire.

If they aren’t hurting anyone then they are fine. More power to them. I use to go inside the Disney Store at the mall years ago, but that’s not a thing anymore. Everything was super expensive.

I’m not even remotely a Disney adult, but I will say that going to Disney World is fun at any age. I went to Disneyland by myself on a whim once (I was flown out to Blizzcon by LG and fucked off to Disney after I was done covering things), and it was one of the best times I’ve had in my entire life.

I got wasted at the bar in Tron World and spent like 3 hours in a replica Flynn’s Arcade playing Donkey Kong and Space Paranoids.

Who cares? Let people do whatever makes them happy as long as no one is harmed in the process. You don’t have to understand it.
And that’s exactly the attitude that got us furries, and now we’ve got litter boxes in elementary schools ffs. Think of the children, man!

But someone is? Kids that are lining for princess , etc. are getting shoved and bullied by adults that also want that. Also for some limited edition crap you need to compete with scalpels that buy items by dozens in order to resell them to other adult fans.

I doubt that. The widespread portrayal of such kinks vis social media is what got us into this mess. I mean… serious question… would you even know about furries if it wasn’t for social media? I doubt it.

Let people have their kinks. People who spread that shit are to blame.

Not my thing and I don't care what people do with their time and money. I don't care what people do as long it's not bothering or harming anyone else.

We all have our own interests.

I have absolutely zero desire to ever sit foot in any of their parks, the thought of being surrounded by fat Americans queuing for hours for some 2min ride whilst being bombarded from all sides by a capitalistic evil company wanting me to buy shit at every turn is my definition of a fucking nitemare, I would've put up with it for the kids but thankfully we raised them right and when we give them the option of Disneyland or African Safari they laughed at my suggestion that the two are even comparable... Fuck Disney buuuuuut as a parent I can see how young children love it and ours did once upon time but for adults to not see through that thin veneer to the type of company beneath, well your a cunt... Horrible company

Nothing wrong with liking what you like and not letting a meaningless number dictate that you should stop liking something.

Well other than some exceptions :messenger_neutral:

But with Disney sure there is a level it ends up weird like some 50 year old woman still dressing up as a Disney princess harassing mascots for pictures but if it brings them enjoyment then they are not hurting anybody at the end of the day.

That's an urban myth spread by questionable people with an agenda my good man, the litter boxes that is, furries unfortunately do exist and need bate to within an inch of their lives whenever you find one

Same as any super fan. It's all fake stuff. Good, but the overblown crying and screaming reactions for Disney, Marvel, Anime, Smash Bros, is not normal. Internet has made behaving and reacting like a buffoon acceptable.

Don't think there's anything wrong with them wanting autographs or whatever in a line, long as none is shoving or fighting. Who knows, maybe they wanted it as a kid but never had the money or time. It's fine.

Everything in balance. Don't over act and go crazy. Accept it's enjoyable but still just a material, fake thing that can go poof too. I say this as a one time similar mega fan of lots of things.

I dunno. I suppose there’s degrees of it?
A lot of Disney comics are still good to read as an adult, especially those made in Italy.
Disney’s animated classics will be good forever.
Parks? Eh, every once in a while they can be fun, I guess. Haven’t been to a Disney park in almost 30 years, personally.
Cruises, etc? I don’t know what you can get there.

Disney is many things, and not all of those are strictly for children.
I’m much more suspicious about Marvel adults.

It seems like many people's taste in media is becoming narrower and a bunch of them want their childhood fed back to them endlessly rather than trying new things. Disney adults are one example of that.

Their parks seem soulless to me. Like.. how could I word this? As someone on the outside, looking in, the experience looks like one long advertisement as a day trip.
The last time I was there was in 88 and I was play fighting with Goofy, with my ping pong ball gun. I felt that moment was better than most of the stuff I've seen televised. Maybe because it was something personal?

It’s no different than looking at shopping mall Santas as an adult.
Also, I think Disney has become too many things. For people who were kids before the turn of the millennium, Disney was synonymous with very specific things. Now it’s Mickey and The Lion King, but also Star Wars, Marvel and Indiana Jones. It’s harder to be excited when a brand is so many radically different things.

Personally, I used to enjoy the cartoons a lot. We had Disney channel as children. Back then is was all of their classics on various rotations. Good, quality stuff!
But, now, like you said? Disney is something else, these days. It's Disney in name, only, IMO! To me? It's a soulless IP vacuum that may or may not put something out that I could be interested, still...
That said, I don't care for the current direction in their output.

The last time I went I was in 7th grade, it was fun and I always had a desire to go back until after I graduated college. After that it never really registered on my radar again. I think it's true for a lot of people that your tastes change as you get older, I know mine certainty have. I feel like these people are trying to re-live something that they should have grown out of 20 years earlier.

They can do whatever they want. It’s not something I’d recommend or want but adults can make decisions for themselves.

I’d love to go to the park myself. I’ve never been.

I never went to Disney World or Disneyland as a kid, but had the opportunity to go to Land 2x and World once as an adult and it was a lot of fun and I am glad I went. I did the run weekend thing they had so I ran half marathons in both parks. I would do it again, but a regular vacation, there is too much of the world to see. It's easy to get in the "disney magic" while there, as lame and gay as Disney might be as a company these days. I wouldn't consider myself a "disney adult" though.

one of my good friends is one. its super creepy and weird to me. I just chalk it up as its their "thing". We all are into something stupid that others dont understand. Its a "Hobby" that doesnt require skill.

This is pretty much exactly how I see it . One of my close friends married a "Disney Adult" whose entire personality is Disney. Her entire house is Disney, she tells people she works just so she can go to Disney, spends entirely too much money every year on trips to Disney World and on Disney Cruises. They have younger kids at the moment but eventually they're going to have a moment where she's going to have to choose her Disney obsession or her children's hobbies and future. Not sure how that's going to go over when it happens.

She's an adult so how she spends her money is her business but it still feels like a borderline obsessive-compulsive disorder, at least to me. I enjoy video games but they're not my entire identity.

I maintain a single shrine to old school Disney consisting of the Lego castle packed with 90's classics minifigs like Scrooge & Nephews, Gimoduck, Chip & Dale, Aladdin, Ariel and so on. I don't know if this makes me a Disney Adult, but I feel like my Disney life's needs are fulfilled by this 1 thing alone and I'm more than good...

My wife and I went to Epcot and Animal Kingdom because we flew out of Orlando for our honeymoon trip to Jamaica. So we were already there and it gave us an excuse to tack on an extra two days to our honeymoon. It was honestly pretty fun, but we both agreed we wouldn't come back until A) we have kids and B) they're old enough to actually appreciate/enjoy it. There's something a little sad and empty about being there as adults without kids.

Mr. Community
life is complicated and absurd as it is, if visiting a park couple days a year makes it easier to go by whatever i won't judge.... beats the traditional method which consists of getting drunk and punching your wife and kids

that being said, ive seen first person footage of some of their super rides like the star wars one they inaugurated recently and they're truly spectacular... so maybe try it for yourself perhaps you'll enjoy it

I went on a Disney cruise in November with my wife and kids and honestly it was awesome. Plenty of cool shit to do even if you don’t have kids and only care about classic Disney stuff. Some fancy high end restaurants, spa, salon, bars, etc. Disney even has their own private island that serves solely as a destination for the cruise. With a large beachfront that is empty and pristine when your cruise arrives.

Going to a theme park on the other hand sounds like my idea of hell. No thanks

I'm 40 and have never been to Disney, I'd love to go with my daughter in a couple years when she's a bit older and more independent, but I admit I would enjoy it a lot.

Early 2010s I was pretty immersed in Disney fandom blogs like Passports to Dreams Old and New, Parkeology, Mesa Verde Times, Dark Side of Disney, Long Forgotten, Disney and More etc

Back then this stuff mostly went over Disney park history and having fond memories of visiting the Florida parks as a kid, it was interesting, in those days this stuff either was edgy or at least spared no criticism of the company, that all gets replaced by the social media "influencer" era who are shills and hyper consumers, basically it was something cool a decade ago, but has turned into something stupid.
