sometimes being an american sucks. people are to liberal. now my kid wount get to watch cookie monster and enjoy him the way i did. probably the same asses who sued mcdonalds from being overweight. your the kids parent tell them no, dont give them a cookie. teach them exercise, yes you actually have to teach your kids. a funny concept huh.

IIRC, this is one of the three changes that was in the works some time ago. The second was Bert and Ernie officially coming out, which probably won't happen anytime soon, especially given that an episode of Arthur (or a spin-off) an episode where a character visited a couple of syrupers run by two lesbians didn't air in a lot of regions. i forget what the third change was.

The lack of interest in parenting is the most alarming problem with America. In addition to the lack of planned parenthood and the idiotic casual views of sex which lead to bastard offspring.
Kids can't eat cookies if you don't supply them.

his show was pulled from the air in australia a year or so ago because him taking proton pills was deemed as drug use and unsutable for children.

You people come from a line of great extremists...nowhere in any article does it say that he'll stop singing C is for Cookie. He, for the purpose of the health kick, simply sang a different song.
There is nothing stopping him from eating cookies in the future, singing his theme song; hell, he's put different foods in for Cookie in his main theme before.
While I agree that the character is a great one as it is, I don't even think this will change the overall character. It's not like he's on the show all the time anyways. All it is is the occasional segment where Cookie Monster realizes that cookies aren't a meal.
I don't think this rapes the character or anything.
