In Japan, our Turbo Express handheld is called the PCEngine GT. but what does the GT stand for? while it is pretty obvious that the 'LT' in PC Engine LT stands for 'Lap Top' because that's what it looks like, the GT in PC Engine GT is not so obvious. I am 90% certain that GT stands for

was one of several names NEC had in mind for their handheld PC Engine. another possible name was

Handy Grafx

and in EGM's rumor column, they referred to it as the

PC Engine 3

before the handheld was fully revealed by NEC.

the FAQ could easily be wrong but then again, that does make sense. never heard that before btw.
