Playing FFTA (GBA).

So far, it's more of what I've been needing. It's like climbing under the sheets with a nice warm beverage in the winter. Cozy...

Streets of Rage 4 DLC: Mr X Nightmare

A lot of bang for your buck with this DLC. You get three new characters, all bosses from the main game. There’s a survival mode, with randomised stages of increasing difficulty where you choose a power up each stage. Lots of fun.

On top of that, you can unlock up to 5 new moves for each character (depending on how many moves they have), which can drastically change the way each character plays. There’s also an additional classic character that can be unlocked, again with 5 unlockable moves. 3 new palette swaps for all 4 characters, and Survival has new music (I think it’s by Tee Lopes, who did Sonic Mania).

Between the main game and the DLC I’ve done over 100 hours, and it’s a perfect game if you want to pick something up for a quick session.

There’s also talk of new DLC in the pipeline, and there’s at least two more characters that people want to see return with SoR4 versions.

Currently playing Twilight Princess for the... 4th? 5th? time, and I'm still discovering new stuff.

First, I found out there was an elevator in the Goron village, going from their hot spring bath to the elder's room and the entrance to the Mines dungeon. Not that you have many reasons to go there that often, but it's still neat.
Second thing is... in the Arbiter's Ground, you know how there are rooms where spike walls burst out from the sand when you get close and block your path? Well you can use your wolf-sense to actually see where they are after you've already triggered them once, which really helps in one area when you have to navigate through them before a door closes.

God damn, I love this game.

After I'm done with it, I'll probably go back to the Tales series. As I said in the Tales of Arise demo thread, I have Symphonia, Zestiria and Berseria on Steam that I haven't installed yet, Vesperia on Switch that I need to continue, and I just "obtained" undub versions of Eternia (one of my favourite games ever, although I never completed it) and Graces F (let's see how that PS3 emulator runs on my new computer!), so it should take me some time to play through all of them...

With a friend, we picked up Streets of Rage 4 last year for coop session and it was a complete blast. We spended several dozen hours doing Story and Arcade in Mania.

We picked up the DLC last month and it's really awesome. I love the survival mode, the new characters are really cool and the new moves to unlock really shake up the gameplay.
I am amazed how good this game is.

It's official that they are considering another DLC ? Seeing the quality so far, I am all for it.

Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and now also Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island.

September will be huge for me since I like most of the titles that will be released during the month (Tales of Arise, Diablo 2, Kena, Lost Judgement, Deathloop and Death Strading Directors Cut).

The only thing approaching a source I’ve seen so far is someone who worked on the DLC saying “More to come” or something like that, so it’s nothing official and merely speculation.

It will probably come down to the sales of the first DLC. They could just move on to the next project, which surely must happen based on how well SoR4 has done.

ok let's see.

Dotemu is involved (as publisher) in the upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles : Shredder's revenge". I am looking forward to it.

How are you finding Elex? I ended up giving up, it never clicked with me because I couldn't get along with the gameplay
Phew, good question, all in all I like it but it has certainly it flaws. I'm 20 hours in, the fighting mechanics are certainly lacking but i like the design of the world and the quest system. And i love the jetpack.
I'm a huge Gothic 1 and 2 fan but Elex is solid i would say and i like it but nonetheless i'm waiting for Elex 2.

The shoot

The concept is actually pretty fun, but you can tell the game's production values were somewhat strapped by a tight budget. Its just a stone throw away from being a great railshooter classic if Sony had put a little more effort into it. Still, very enjoyable. A PS move game I'd recommend to anyone whose into railshooters.

Max payne 3

Catching the last window of opportunity to get the MP trophies. Probably one of the most unbalanced multiplayer experiences I've had. Playing side-by-side or against people using hacks/exploits, high level players who've played the MP religiously, and other peeps who bought P2W weaponry, plus perks (bursts), isn't a very fun experience. Pretty much designed to strong arm you into buying the DLC to even out the balance. But, hey, whatchu gonna do.

I can imagine the multiplayer was way better back in its early heyday before the introduction of the P2W extras and such.

Played Tekken 5 (PS2) last night, it is amazing. One of the most complete fighting game packages out there, I'm grinding to unlock the last two extra costumes. I also played Onimusha 2 (PS2). I am enjoying it but it has the worst controls in a game ever. Which genius thought to map the movement to the d-pad rather than the analog stick. Its terrrrrrrrrrrible but I am trying to stick with it because I know at least the game is short.

Decided to try Cyberpunk again after a break of four months. Started a brand new game as a street kid. Honestly? It's finally starting to feel like how it should. First thing that caught my eye was how it looked. Apart from the SSR fix that's in the new patch notes, the graphics seem sharper, the colors more vibrant. The visuals look much more coherent and well put together. I've ofc played through the street kid part before, but today just found myself looking around a lot more. The murals, the NPC's, the texture detail and colors all pop out more somehow. The small changes to the journal also helps. Now the job screen has little links to areas of interest. For example links to the description of the high-end car you steal, details about the area etc.

Good start! I'm excited to play through the game, this time hopefully to the end.

Finished Sekiro yesterday. Pretty good game. Clearly the most polished of From's modern games too... but I definitely prefer BB and DS3. Maybe even DS2. I have never been good at parrying - I've gone out of my way to avoid it in previous titles - and parrying in this game never stuck well with me. Most of the time, the window felt far too early. I'd raise my block, see Wolf block, realize I was too early, let go, drop my sword, and hit it again and still not be on time. Much prefer parries that are closer to the hit. When parrying does work in Sekiro, I can see what From's going for. It's sure something and fits the aesthetic great.

After I'm done with it, I'll probably go back to the Tales series. How do you plan on selecting a game? I've played all those games (except Eternia; anything before Symphonia in general) and while they're all Tales games they all have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Got the urge for some sweet old Dark Souls so booted up the best in the franchise, Scholar of the First Sin, and made a new character. After all these years I´m still madly in love with this game. And it holds up so well, even more so today, for its sheer amount of original content, the ambition to try something new and fresh and the overall amount of crazy things you can discover and see. It has the best exploration in the series, going from one exciting area to another, beating up enemies and bosses left and right.

Doing a cosplay of Sir Yorgh, the famous knight who went to Dragon Sanctum with his Drakeblood Knights in an attempt to kill Sinh, the Slumbering Dragon. I love roleplaying as NPCs in Dark Souls, it´s so much fun trying to delve into these characters and do what they do, equip their weapons, armor and rings, and just go nuts. As Yorgh, I will be wielding a spear, with the goal to acquire Sinh´s soul and claim Yorghs spear. Doing a pure faith miracle caster to with lots of lightning infusion and bolt throwing as well as having a crossbow as sidearm.

I really like the feeling of adventure that Dark Souls 2 invoke. You set off on a grand and vast journey, meeting all sorts of crazy characters and creepy enemies, puzzling together the lore (I think DS2 has the best story in the franchise), about King Vendrick and his battle against the giants. So far I´ve opened up all the paths to the Old Ones, and currently resides in Grave´s Saint, a quick detour to claim the Disc Chime.

The game also has a surprisingly active online. Been summoned several times as a Blue Sentinel, did co-op against bosses, messages gets ratings pretty consistently. I haven´t been invaded though, other than NPC invasions. And that´s one more thing that DS2 did so well. They really amplified the offline experience with loads of summons and NPC invasions. A lot of the invaders have great AI too, especially in the expansions where invaders tended to fuck with you in the most creative ways.

Tetris Effect Connected (PS4 but it's crossplay). Loved the single player in Tetris Effect and now I'm loving the multiplayer added with the free upgrade of Connected.

This game is a fucking masterpice, the best thing Tetris did since its Game Boy version has been to give this game to the Lumines guy.

I'll get Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut later today.

You playing in VR?

No, I tested all headsets (one of the games I played on PSVR was Tetris Effect btw) but I don't have VR, I'll wait for PSVR2.
It's amazing in VR. The actual VR doesn't really change the gameplay, but it's just an experience, especially with surround sound or headphones.

Kind of like Thumper. The game still technically plays the same, but it feels like a completely different experience.

I feel like I should like Fable, as I'm big on fantasy games and RPGs. I played the original a while back on 360 through BC. I beat it, but didn't like it much.

So, I've held off on this (I actually bought all three games a long time ago). My backlog is pretty cleared out, so I decided to give the series another try as I'm looking for something to play on Series X.

I'm just an hour or so in. It seems okay, so far. I absolutely hate the British bathroom humor. I'm trying to look past that stuff and enjoy the rest.

Love tetris effect, might buy it again for switch but very interested to see what those guys do next. I would like a remaster of Child of Eden, maybe in VR. I have a number of Genki Rocket CD's.

Currently playing 12 minutes, about 3.5 hrs in/down. Need to figure out new puzzle now.

Yep. I think VR, specially with good 3D audio, really changes the gaming experience because it makes you feel you're inside the game. It multiplies the inmersion by 1000.

It's one of the reasons of why PSVR2 will be bollocks: great resolution, proper 3D audio, better visuals and proper controls for certain games.

Dark Souls 2 sounds amazing with my Pulse Headset. Never really played with headphones before I got a PS5 and the headset. It's a completely different experience now. You can hear every little detail. Winds, raindrops, enemies gurgling from a distance. It comes together beautifully. You can tell From has gone to great lengths with the sound design here.

Dark Souls 2 is so underrated. It has a lot more heart than DS3, which feels like the SouthPark memberberries just talking about previous Soulsborne games.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Rocking this on legend and can't stop doing all of the side shit. Game is full of some of the wackiest, goofball and absurd nonsense I've ever gotten hooked on. The OST is hype as fuck with some legit bangers. Definitely belongs on my all time favorites list. :messenger_fire::messenger_fire::messenger_fire:

Finished Bravely Default. I liked it a lot but I could not be bothered re-energizing the crystals 20 times. I got the false ending but I'll watch the real one on YouTube. I need a break from jrpgs so next I'll play either Hyrule Warriors or a Mario game

Just an update on Max Payne 3: went back to finish the story campaign and, man, this game is raw. What a great send off to Max. I know the third installment has its haters, but It feels complete. Its one of the few trilogies that end on a high note imo. Really well done.

I doubt we'll see something like this from Rockstar again.
