What game are you currently playing?

Just finished Golden Sun and just started The Lost Age. I bought these when they first came out lol. Just hard trouble playing single player games back than I guess.

Just started Nier automata today. Laughed my ass off at dying during the first serious boss fight and getting ending W. Taro is a magnificent bastard. A trolling magnificent bastard.

Fallout - New Vegas, heavily modded and unstable AF :)

The only way to play any Fallout game in my opinion. I remember when I built my first proper gaming PC since the 90s, a few years back, and one of the first games I seriously got into was Fallout 3. After a few failed attempts at getting into the series with the PS3 version of the game - it was a pretty awful port, all things considered - I loaded up Nexus and just started to add mod after mod after mod. It was a pretty incredible experience, a bespoke version of the game that I'd carefully crafted myself. It was wonderful, as were the crashes. So many crashes.

I'm playing so many games at the same time I literally hate myself.
I got Yakuza 0 and SOTC on PS4 (without even considering all the VR games I just got with the headset), I'm playing Odin Sphere Leifthrasir and Hotline Miami on PSVita, Halo 2 Remastered on XBONE.
I do also play SMT: Dx2 Liberator and Hearthstone few hours during the day.

i'm playing WAR Field as well! it seems like it's really may work to make money, if you have good skills of course!

Love both of these. The plot is a bit of a mess and the combat gets a little too easy but the puzzles and dungeons are designed so well. The third game is a bit of a step back but the dungeons are still the strength.

I'm on a Wii kick as I just finished Muramasa Demon Blade and I'm starting Wario Land Shake It. Seems like the standard Wario gameplay but with added challenges to focus on...though these often just result in repeating levels. It's okay so far but not blowing me away.

Ys Memories of Celcetta but I encountered a glitch where if you reinforce a weapon or armor many times, it disappears completely from the equip menu, you lose all the weapon extra stats and have to rebuy and reinforce it again.
Stopped playing. Besides once you set difficulty to easy, if say you encounter a frustrating boss, you can not set it back to normal or hard. Because I was not aware of the glitch above, I thought boss was way too hard and set difficulty to easy. Totally ruined the gameplay this way

Everything VR still, Superhot VR came in the mail, imported from the U.K for a physical copy. Started playing Gran Turismo Sport in VR last night and just, wow. I've got the Firewall Zero Hour Aim Bundle pre-ordered for Aug 28th, I caved and wanted to grab an aim controller for this, Far Point and Doom. I got the platinum trophy for Job Simulator the other night too, definitely the easiest platinum I've ever got.

I did plug in 4.5 hrs into the Valkyria Chronicles 4 demo, maxing out the demo upgrades, orders and finishing the story portion of the demo and all that save data transfers over to the actual game when it launches. Such a generous demo and this game is on par with the original Valkyria Chronicles, should be a great fall/ winter gaming season.

Excellent games! I think you'll enjoy the second one if you're just coming off the first one. They're kind of a pair and I tend to think of them as one big game.

TMNT 3 was a surprisingly fun game. I played through that a few years ago and loved it.

Wii has a great library of hidden stuff. Any other Wii games on your horizon?

Overwatch (Widowmaker) and SC2 regularly (Zerg).

Failing to get into The Evil Within 2 (never played the first one). It feels like a low budget horror game.
I'm at the place where you were chased by a woman with many heads who was armed with a chainsaw.

The woman with many arms looked really great and majestic. I'm not expecting much from it, but I will give this game a second glance.

The Mass Effect trilogy. Currently on Mass Effect 2. Since I started playing it right after finishing the first game, it made me realize just how restrictive and "streamlined" it is compared to the first. Mass Effect 2 is the Resident Evil 4 of this series: The best and the worst thing that ever happened to it.

And to the Bioware developer that came up with the planet scanning mini-game to replace the Mako exporation segments, you deserve a high five... To the face... With a brick. At least the rover missions had you do actual exploration and discovery.

Also, the removal of some of the RPG features turn the game from a Sci-Fi role playing game into a pseudo Gears of War with shittier controls.

Doom 2016 (not liking it much. it's ok I guess)
Total War Warhammer II (first Total War since Shogun)
X-com 2 War of the Chosen (enjoying it but a little bit overwhelmed so far about what order to do things on the map)
Enter the Gungeon (old favorite - almost done with it again after finishing off the Resourceful Rat boss from the new expansion)
Slay the Spire (satisfies my desire for card based strategy without the overly addictive free to play elements in other strategy card games that I have to stay away from)
Valkyria Chronicles 4 demo (disappointed that it seems like the same game as vc1 with only minor improvements)

I downloaded Mad Max when it was free on PSN plus a few months ago and started it last week. Really underrated game, its awesome.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (whatever that's supposed to mean)
Fun monster collecting, but man, the written dialogue is bad (german version). Yeah, some of the one liners about capture balls, ghost whatches and animus dreams are almost worth a chuckle, but what the hell is a line about Tarkowskis "Stalker" doing in a friggin' Digimon game? :pie_roffles:

Agreed. Mad Max is awesome & its only problem is the slow first 30 minutes. Once the wasteland opens up, kaboom, it's great. I wish we'd get a sequel because it deserves it.

As for the topic here I'm currently playing Mafia III on ps4 which I also downloaded via psn plus (it's free this month). The graphics are actually far better than I'd expected, although the opening "disclaimer" screen from the dev vis-à-vis rejecting the "racism & bigotry" of the era in the USA was total cringe & blatant virtue signalling to God knows who. I mean for f*cks sake, we play as a Mafioso criminal who mass murders people - including cops (who statistically speaking aren't all horrible). In real life in every era he'd face the death penalty.

I usually don't care at all (it's a video game aka fun) but when they attempt to insert ultra-serious social commentary about "ze evils of 1960's/70's USA" & then ignore the cognitive dissonance of the main character being a total psychopathic scumbag killer, it's embarrassing.

It never ceases to amaze me how bad I am at schmups and top-downs. I love Enter the Gungeon but never make it very far, maybe the fourth dungeon at most. But its fun.
I'm mainly trying to plow through a few games before the rush, currently knocking out Ghost Recon for the Plat and started up Phantom Doctrine for some variety. My current slice of fan service is Nights of Azure 2. Ghost Recon or Tom Clancy's GTA is nice enough, a bit ugly at times but serviceable. What I'd love for a sequel to do is add in some Mercenaries flare. The whole house of cards to bring down, etc is right there for the picking. I want some real destruction man, if I want to go loud I want to call in some damn air-strikes and bunker busters! God I miss pandemic and the Mercenaries/Saboteur games.

Recently went to play my Monopoly app on iphone, which I haven’t touched in ages. It won’t load because apparently EA haven’t updated it, so it is effectively useless. I think they lost the license?

So, I discovered that there’s a game called Rento, which is basically Monopoly in everything but name and it’s free.

So, I’ve been playing that. Fuck you EA.

The way it works is it's rogue-lite like Rogue Legacy. You definitely get better skill wise as you play but a lot of the difference between early and later runs is how unlocks of guns and items make an average run easier (I write average because there's still randomness to the quality of the drops that can make or break a run). So early on you just focus on getting unlocks. Unlike Binding of Isaac it's a lot less common to have a run with an insane combination but it does happen sometimes

I've been playing Blood Omen 2 the last few days and really enjoying it. It's a game that I never got around to when it originally released, but glad to finally be getting around to it. The graphics are certainly dated with that blocky polygonal motif from the late 90s, but gameplay is still enjoyable.

Trying to go back and finish Persona 5. There's a lot I like about the game but it's kind of become a slog as I realize I preferred the old style of dungeons where you could just focus on the battles. I really hate all the new crappy puzzle/exploration/stealth elements.

Demon's Souls and Death's Gambit.

And boy lemme tell you, Demon's Souls is a major challenge with no online and phantoms spawning in worlds going dark.

I personally like dungeon in P5 waaay more than P3&4 but seriously if you have that much issue with P5's dungeon then makes wonder what would think about games like Strange Journey or Nocturne's dungeons.

I am between games. I just finished 107 percenting Hollow Knight on Switch. Nothing really right now is really catching my interest, so I am not sure what I am playing next.

Breath of the Wild sure does have a lot of secrets with places to visit, shrines to conquer and monsters to slay. I really like that you have different armor sets to choose from and right now I´m trying to obtain most of them. I got a hold of the Dark Link Set and thought it was supercool, until I found out that you can´t upgrade it. Thanks Nintendo for wasting my time and a lot of materials that I could have used to actuallu upgrade my fucking armor. Talk about trolling the shit out of you.

I have also beat the game, killed Ganon in a fight I thought was pretty similar to the final battle in Twilight Princess, at least how it played out in my memory. I´m a little bit disappointed that you
didn´t get the opportunity to explore Hyrule Castle without it being covered in Ganons purple excrements.

I have a lot of sidequests left to do, as well as all the memories. It will be interesting too see where all of that leads too. I´m not bored yet with the game, I can see myself pushing through a couple of hours still, but the main excitement has left the building. I probably won´t pick up the DLC, it sounded pretty uninteresting and I feel that 60-70 hours with this game is more than enough. I don´t think I will manage all 120 shrines, and I will certainly not look for all 900 korok seeds either, unless I want to be committed to a mental institution. In any case, Breath of the Wild is a great game, although I don´t think it deserves 97 on Metacritic. It´s not a masterpiece in any shape or form, but it is a solid experience with a lot of fun content and easily a must buy for the Switch. However, Wind Waker is still my favourite Zelda to date.

Finished Far Cry 5 recently, picking at Dragon Quest Heroes 2, playing Overwatch daily (usually a couple of quick random matches), playing Lumines on the Switch while on the can, and thinking about picking up God of War on PS4 while it's on sale.

I got resident evil 7 on sale yesterday and oh my God it's awesome. I replayed REmake a month ago and I'm loving resi7, it feels like it's heavily inspired by 1, the setting, the puzzles, even some rooms are very similar. Awesome game so far, totally recommended for people who loved 1 and are on the fence because it's first person.

In final chapter of Ni No Kuni II and first time I put Koudelka to play, love this game atmosphere, soundtrack, dialogues, but damn this game is so slow and you cant see sometimes items in chambers, this game is old school resident evil with rpg gameplay

Finished Angels of Death

Nice atmosphere and design, poor writing, as with most RPG Maker games. Surprised they even made a manga and anime out of this, since it is the atmosphere that counts instead of the writing.
Last lengthy game I'll play though. From now on I'll devote my time to short arcadey game sessions on PC

EDMIX

Writes a lot, says very little
knee deep in Yakuza 1 remake, started playing some Tekken 7 and got COD4 remaster on sale.

Trying to go thru Yakuza 1 remake before Shenmue I and II remaster release!

Currently deciding what game I´m gonna buy next for Switch since Dark Souls and Diablo is months away. I was thinking Hollow Knight at first, it´s looks really good and is rather cheap since the purchase of Switch murdered my wallet. But I pulled down a demo of Rayman Legends and it was really fun. It was a game that did fit the Switch in the best possible way, with beautiful handdrawn animated graphics and fast and fluid gameplay. Didn´t really like the touch screen controls with Murfy so I hope Ubi plays that to a minimum. I also downloaded a demo of Octopath Traveler which I´m gonna play later this week and I´m also keen on Salt & Sanctuary and VC 4.

Wind Waker HD again. After playing it with a friend recently and after beating twilight princess HD I just had to play it again. It is a great game especially for exploration. One thing I absolutely hate is that nintendo got rid off miiverse so now I can't see what other adventurers have to say or see what they are doing with the pictures. It was fun seeing what people where doing and it kind of felt like we were playing an adventure together.
