Atm I'm juggling a couple of games, mainly Turok 1 for Steam (I'm on the 3rd level), RE 4 HD for Steam w/the HD Project 1.1 mod installed (Just rescued Ashley for the first time), Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt Complete Edition for PS5 (just met the Bloody Baron), and Sonic Frontiers on PS5 (Just got to the second island).

What’s your level?
I wouldn’t recommend fighting Margit unless you’re around level 20 but if you’ve beaten Leonine then I assume you’re already fit to give it a try.
If you want you can skip the whole Stormveil castle by going around it at the eastern side and reach a whole new area. But that’s boring.
If you want to get some easy runes then you can go around slaying giants, just go in with leg attacks from the horse and go for a critical once they fall.

Vigor is not going to help you much tbh, he’s going to stomp you anyway unless you dodge his attacks. I always put my points in strength for a melee build early on, and intelligence for magic. Vigor makes life easier later on though but early on I always focus on what the build is supposed to be good at.

Vigor is not going to help you much tbh, he’s going to stomp you anyway unless you dodge his attacks. I always put my points in strength for a melee build early on, and intelligence for magic. Vigor makes life easier later on though but early on I always focus on what the build is supposed to be good at.

I personally think you can’t go wrong with Vigor for early game Elden Ring. It’s always the stat I bump up first because weapon upgrading and stat benefits for weapons don’t have big gains early game.

There’s lots of way to fight Margit, learn his attacks and dodge. Learning when it’s safe to attack and being patient works well.

Having auxiliary damage is really helpful. Your Jelly spirit summon will poison him, he can be pretty easily bled. Fire damage using pots or or the fire spell work well, and the fire spell has a really low faith requirement if I recall correctly.

Once he’s in second phase he is really difficult to fight up close, keeping distance and baiting his big attacks to punish and retreat works well. But also just having some ranged options like fire spell of bow and arrow.

He’s easily, in my opinion, the hardest first souls boss, but there’s also a variety of ways to take him down. Either way, he’s very hard solo. Some people save their summon til second phase to manage Agro.

Good luck, hope some of this helps. I banged my head against him forever my first play through, and I still find him difficult.

Ah okay. Personally I like to plan the build early on to easier get powerful at what I want. But I understand how you think. Vigor is important too so it’s not a waste but it takes longer to get a build specific advantage the longer you start focusing on something. Haven’t tried a jack of all trades type of character tbh.

I just finished replaying Flashback for the first time since my Amiga years. Sadly the controls are absolutely horrendous by modern standards - climbing, jumping, shooting, rolling - everything is crap and it's sad they didn't try to improve it in the 25h anniversary edition. And add to that plenty of places with opportunities for cheap deaths... at least the rewind mechanic removes tons of unwanted frustration. The animations and the cutscenes and most of the environments are still cool though, I remember being blown away by them when I first played the game on the Amiga.

On the last stretch with several games. I'm probably done with Horizon 2 in the following week, as well with Inversion, Broken Sword and Beyond a Steel Sky. Should be able to finish Silent Hill too. After that, I will be more conscious and not spread out my gaming time with so many different games. One or two at a time.

I also did an effort of counting my backlog and I came up with 40 games. I'm going to make a serious effort of clearing all of them up during 2023 while limit myself in buying new games to a minimum.

I'm nearing the final chapters of Lost Judgment. Fantastic game and I don't want it to end. Combat, overall gameplay, story, music, graphics... it has it all, and I can't wait to play the next game produced by RGG Studio.

Upgrading your weapons can also make a huge difference. Mines are a good place to look for upgrade materials and they're easy to spot on the map (look for holes with a red/yellow-ish border around them).

Norco. Finished it yesterday. One of the best point and click games I've played the last years. Highly recommended.

I've also started The Entropy Centre. A well made Portal like game. It doesn't reach the level of Portal of course but it is good.

Just finished Grime, well the main story, a new dlc just came out. The game has a nice art style(though the environments can be a little repetitive) and good combat, all in all a solid Metroidvania with a light "souls" mixture.

Now playing: Greak Memories of Azur, another kind of Metroidvaniaish game but it lacks a proper map.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, waited for it to go on sale and it did on BF finally. So... for starters.. it looks amazing! playing the regular performance mode and 120hz toggle on and sweet baby jesus it looks so sharp and smooth as a baby cheek, It's so colorful and i love it. Gameplay is ace, i always liked the R&C formula and this doesn't disappoint, i got to the part you first play as Rivet and damn it looks good, will resume tonight.

In Blasted Tokyo (Shibuya) in SMTIV on the hunt for Ixtab, trying to balance my alignment. Started using the other save file just before coming to Blasted Tokyo just in case I stray too far to one side. Went with a magic user for Orion (my MC). Got all the elemental "dynes" and Megidola, plus the heals and Recarm (going cheap on that, since demons don't return to the party anyway when recarmed, so pointless to waste the MP on Samarecarm.

Finished Broken Sword: Director's Cut. Never played this version before. I love Broken Sword, so of course I love this version too, but it did have a few things I wasn't too keen on. They've changed a couple of the puzzles and removed the ability for George to die. I was also not really a fan of the new character design that you could see in the small screens whenever you talked to someone. I did appreciate Nico getting more screen time, even if it barely made any sense regarding the main plot. Overall, it was a good remaster but I prefer the original any day of the week.

Just finished Trails from Zero Kai (Steam)
Man - the last chapter was something (for story wise). It's basically a one-way street, but things really kicked up quite a bit.
Chapters 1 - 4, I thought was little too... relaxed mostly. Reminds me the original Sky FC, which it just felt like pretty much going around the kingdom of Libel for a tour...
Understandable that you are literally starting, with brand new set of characters from zero... and it had quite a bit of circumstantial lore/background info to take in... but a bit too long.
But last chapter, things really blew up in quite a bit of urgency - at least the story wise. I guess that's part of the charm I guess?

However, it didn't end up as cliff hanging like original Sky FC, so that's a good thing. Still left quite a bit issues unsolved, so I am looking forward to play the next chapter... but will see.
I wish Kia character would have been introduced a bit earlier though - it's nice they dedicated one short intermission chapter for her, but felt like I didn't get to really bond with that character.
Then again, that mystery is part of the whole grand scheme of the things, so it's understandable.

Now moving onto... hmm. Thinking about replaying Persona 5 Royal on XSX - but may play Resident Evil Village Gold Ed that I bought myself for Christmas gift...

Since doing Steam and GOG for the first time 2 years ago, I've conditioned myself to be a cheap fuck like a lot of other PC gamers, but I might bite bullet and buy Roll Player tomorrow. Early access status at regular price. So who knows when it'll go on deal. But the dev notes say the only thing left to add is MP and cross plat play which I dont care about. So for me it's final enough. It'll be my most pricey purchase ever on Steam at $17 cdn! lol

Finished Beyond a Steel Sky. I'm a big fan of Charles Cecils work, in particular the Broken Sword franchise. I consider him one of the best in the point and click genre (or adventure genre), up there with greats, Tim Schafer, Ron Gilbert and Dave Gibbons. Beyond a Steel Sky is Cecils other franchise, and it differs greatly in tone and use of historical fiction that is so prominent in BS. The art design, voice acting and main plot are all very good, with some convoluted puzzles that drags the narrative down a bit, which is par for the course. It features loads of references to the original, so if you haven't played that you might miss some jokes and character development. Either way, Beyond a Steel Sky is a great game that is a must if you're a fan of point and click adventures.
