What game are you currently playing?

Resident Evil 4 remake (PC, replay). My waiting for DS2 for some reason changed into replaying RE Remakes, 2 and 3 are already completed on PS5 Pro (great versions BTW).

I considered replaying DS1 but this game is fucking long, beginning is boring etc.

I'm replaying MGS3SE (Master collection).
Still awesome although survival is both cool and disrupting, i end up pausing and managing things many times.

So I had to wait a few weeks to get a chance to start it after it first came out. Got some time off and was intending to play it front to back over a few days. So on the first night after I started, I busted my toe. Sort of freak accident. It might have been jammed but it was swelling up super bad so I think it was broken. Without insurance at that time, I had to fix it myself which was really funny considering the way the game had introduced dealing with injuries lol. Friends thought is was just hilarious to watch me pull it straight out and howl in pain. Went through the game with my feet nice and elevated and a popsicle stick tied around that toe. A fun memory, believe it or not!

Not really feeling Stellar Blade. First area of the game was kinda fun but it started getting repetitive very fast, and now that I'm in some kind of town and the game asked me to go talk to people and get some sidequests... I'm a bit tired of this kind of game design, so I've dropped it. Might try it again later on.

Back to Thief it is.

Started Ender Lillies - seems okay. Made me realize how awesome the platforming an movement is in Ori. Not particularly drawn into the game so far, but it's not bad. Will see where it goes.

If only EA could put out a sale for F1 25. Have you played that? You're one of the few I see on here that plays sports games.

Yes, played it via Gamefly when it came out, finished the "story campaign", played some of the career mode and won a season then returned it when I got my fill.

That game is also pretty good. Technologically, diminishing returns over last year I guess, but still a fun game to play with great presentation.

Thief GOLD, you need the Tfix and the HD texture mod to enhance the experience. If you like hardcore Dishonored with stealth as its main gameplay mechanic then go for it. Be warned, in expert difficulties, the objectives will make you do treasure hunts like finding those trinkets in Uncharted except it is NOT optional.

I beat SaGa Frontier 2! It only took me 25 years and two full playthrough, and actually I soft locked myself a second time but luckily I went back to a save from three hours prior and made some better life choices. I will never play that game again, but it feels good to be finally done with it.

I started playing Armored Core 6 again and beat Chapter 1, that final mission does not eff around lol.

Got a PS5 pro recently and first OLED TV (LG B4) so I jumped straight into Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. Just completed it the other day and absolutely loved it. Visually stunning and so much fun! What gaming should be about

I've moved onto Hogwarts Legacy now which I've been looking forward to play since release, just hadn't got around to it. I'm having fun but I have to admit, considering I'm playing on pro, I've not been blown away by picture/performance. I've tried fidelity and performance. Not the same experience I felt with Ratchet and Clank. Very fun game early on though, looking forward to more!

Astro Bot

Finished the main story levels. I imagine a lot of people have already played the game, but for those that haven't - the reviews scores are no exaggeration! It's an utter delight to play. It's stuffed with great humour, adorable characters, inventive designs ... It didn't take me long to get to the end, but I loved every moment of it. Cleaning up things now, and going for the Platinum.

Im having tons of fun playing Crypt Custodian. It looks like a kids game but is actually a quite challenging Metroidvania with some hard mf bosses. The map is huge: I've completed 50% of the game and the stuff I have explored already is bigger than most games of its ilk. A word of advice to folks playing on xbox: the game doesn't use QR so make sure you save after rach session, otherwise you will lose progress.

On my journey to reduce my backlog I started this one today, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas. It's a 2006 game developed by Ubisoft Montreal. I'm enjoying it so far, the graphics aren't great, but the gameplay is fun.

Not sure I will carry on with Ender Lillies. Seems like an okay game and everything but I just don't feel motivated to play it. I don't really feel anything when gaining experience and leveling up, the abilities are okay but nothing really keeping my interest, the setting is fine but nothing extraordinary. I don't know, seems like an okay game but it's not holding my attention at all after about 4 hours. So probably time to move on. Almost feels like a mobile game.

Played around 2006 or 2007 on X360. Fantastic title. Coop was great, too.

Playing some Dying Light with the Retouched update.

The game still holds up remarkably well, character models aside. The anti aliasing could use some work, as this still uses the ancient SMAA which shimmers in motion.

Series X - Balanced mode.

Went back to cp2077, its so much improved over launch window, both bug fixes and tons more content, especially on pc, it feels like legit current gen game despite being over 4,5years old

Finished Red Faction Re-marstered. Pretty fun game. I played it on Switch first but couldn't finish it due to an annoying bug that wouldn't let me finish a mission. So I replayed it on PC. Felt much better with higher frames and resolution. Very smooth playthrough I must say.

You don't see these kinda physics based games anymore. I was a big fan of Just Cause back in the day and Red Faction is similar with its focus on liberating areas from oppressive forces. You can destroy pretty much anything in the game, with bombs, rockets, nano guns and even a fucking big ass hammer you carry around. This part of the game is so much fun. You just go to town on everything you see. Explosions everywhere. Debris falling over your head. The gameplay can get kinda insane sometimes.

This is why I'm excited for Donkey Kong Bananza. It seems to be a return to physics based gameplay where you can destroy everything in your path. Looks like good old fun is back on the menu.

Continued. This game is scratching that stylish John Woo action movie itch. Its one of those games that lends itself naturally to record footage of varous tricks and stunts:

Currently on New Game +.

Sonic the Hedgehog 1 (Sega Genesis Classics) - Holy fuck this lag is horrendous

Sonic the Hedgehog 1 (Sega Ages) - That's more like it. Pretty cool version. I doubt they can do better.

Sonic the Hedgehog 1 (Sonic Origins) - Wow, they did better.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
Finished. Really enjoyed playing this again. I think it was my third playthrough. Going to jump into Birth By Sleep next; I'll probably play Aqua first.

Lunar: Silver Star Story
Made my way to the guild in Vane.

After dropping Ender Lillies, I decided to try Prince of Persia the Lost Crown to scratch the 2D itch. Game seems great! Played for a couple hours - surprisingly more to the combat than I expected, solid platforming and exploration, nice visuals. I like the Divine Challenges, too. This team should be working on another game, not disbanded.

Recently picked up Expedition 33. Slowish start....then the shit hit the fan 😮😮. Combat is pretty addicting not gonna lie. I put in about 2 hours into it and so far it's really fucking good. I can see why this the physical copy is so hard to find on PS5 and why the prices are all jacked up on eBay.

Playing Saga Frontier 2 like before. Early game, but this time I'm grinding out learning weapon skills before pressing on.

Stellar Blade is working on PC now, FUCKING FINALLY. God damn this game is so pretty on PC. Feels like I need to get a new monitor, with 32" and 240hz.

Recently got my copy of Starfox Assault for the Cube but to play on the Wii, never played it before so it was interesting checking out the initial missions so far...went back to Unmetal a little while ago, but the sewer stage is proving to be a bit of a drag....recently got my copy of Project Gotham Racing 4 having never checked any of the previous entries, so that'll be a game to check out soon!

So as I've mentioned before on here, every summer(technically late May or early June depending on if I'm in the middle of a playthrough of something else) I start my summer of RPGs. I bang out as many as I can all the way through August. This year I started off with Clair Obscur(great) and then did Ys X(meh). I had others lined up, but I just couldn't get into them. Tried to do Lunar Remastered, but IMO it doesn't age well. The battle system is so dull, I literally fell asleep last night trying to play it. I tried Fantasian Neo Dimension - it was decent, but the random encounters turned me off, I just don't have the patience right now. I was counting on those two strongly, now they're off the list. I'm gonna try Bravely Default for Switch 2. If that doesn't click... it has random battles, but apparently you can adjust the encounter rate so I'll see if I can stomach it.... then I have a couple more I could be in the mood for to try. Cosmic Star Heroine and Banishers. If those don't click, I may be ending my summer of RPGs early this year. I'm not gonna force it. Usually I have a bunch of things lined up I'm chomping at the bit to play, but this year I really don't.

Might give Death Stranding a chance finally if those fall through. I'll see.

Still enjoying indiana jones. It's still fun, but starting to feel a little long. If this was robocop, which I find similar, I would have finished it a few hours ago and be left wanting more. I'm getting a little worried that there is too much game left. I'm not one to ding a game for having lots of runtime but it may be losing it's luster before it's over.

So I wanted to try something else to break it up. I bought shadow of the ninja reborn on summer sale. This is another recommendation from markmsx on his yt channel electric underground. I splayed it for 90 minutes and I fucking love it. Going to have to switch to fight stick though because the game takes lots of inputs plus some mashing and it was threatening to explode my wrist so I had to put it down.

I can tell you it's a proper fuckin game, though. I've got a problem with indies that try to use classic japanese games as their "bible", but seem to have a shallow appreciation of those games. An egregious example would be freedom planet. If you remember, the cool thing to say was "it's the best sonic game". In reality it was a mess. But not only did someone make it, tons of people loved it, and I can't really argue with that. I't just my tastes.

This game is not that, though. This shit is Real Japanese Steel. Go in prepared for tricky handling - the kind you would find in sonic or ghouls & ghosts, maximo, or even street fighter. ie: you can't have everything. You don't have a roll AND a dash AND a parry AND a double jump etc etc. You get a limited moveset and you have to make the most of each move. Each action has little quirks you have to mitigate or turn into advantages. Seems to have a reputation for being really hard but I can't say how hard it really is. It clearly has a learning curve and it's the kind that will lead a lot of people to call it hard. The kind of people who loved freedom planet...

Trigger Warning: man doing girly things ahead.

Inspired by a stone cold classic that I'm not playing rn but is often at the back of my mind and has been lately...

I like sporting game "stuff", but I like a deep cut that non-gamers can appreciate and only the more hardcore will recognize. Wearing a goldeneye shirt or one of those those ones with the hadoken input for instance is not my style. Respect to those who like it, though. And I'm always happy to recognize a gamer out there.

So that said, I got mah nails did and I fucking love them!!! I'm kinda rough on my hands and usually I don't hold back, but I'm going to try to be mindful of these ones. It's summer and I'm going to be doing stuff where having them this long is a bit of a liability.

A song that pops into my head for what must be thousands of times over the last quarter-century, and one of the the best, if not the absolute best, cg intros of the 32-bit era:

Homey goes from balls out racing his car to using it as an ass magnet in 5 seconds. That's what you call a full-spectrum motoring enthusiast.

Been my current main 3 at the moment. Quite impressed so far with Kingmaker as this is my first full time trying out a game by Owlcat.

Isn't that overkill? Or does it look really that much better?

To be honest, there isn't much of a style difference between 5K and 8K, but it's definitely really clear and uncluttered, lol. The game was locked and coded at 30 frames per second, and I've had a lot of fun getting used to it and making everything seem good and fluid once more. Playing this again has been a lot of fun; it's my favorite 3D Zelda game, followed by Majora's Mask.

Yeah, it's my favorite 3D Zelda game as well.

I decided to give Death Stranding 1 a shot. I really don't think it's going to be for me, but everyone seems to like it. So far, I don't hate it. I can see some makings of how it could be fun. Traversing an environment, figuring out how. Almost like the trek itself is kind of a puzzle or challenge. But I can also see some ways in which it could get annoying. I don't like having to keep my balance standing upright. And I can already foresee myself losing my cool with this game. If I'm in the thick of a hectic moment, carrying a lot of packages and I fall over and they all get destroyed.

As someone who has a zero tolerance policy for do-overs, if at any point in this game I'm making a long trek(I've heard some can be quite long) and something happens where I lose all my packages and can't reload a checkpoint and have to start all over again, then I will quit immediately and never go back. I have no tolerance for games that don't respect your time. And I could also see myself quitting if the balancing gets too annoying or if the game in general starts to get repetitive or bore me. But I'm going to play it and see where it goes. Like I said, I can see ways both in which I can see myself liking it a lot and also hating it.
