What game are you currently playing?

Karma - The Dark World (PS5)

It's definitely 100% another one of those walking sims with vaguely horror undertones. For some reason I assumed this was going to be closer to an Atomic Heart, but it's a completely no-combat kind of walking sim.

Presentation is nice, some areas look like they're ripped straight out of Twin Peaks but the overall game is just ok.

If anyone wants to play one really good one of these that came out recently, I'd recommend try Still Wakes the Deep instead.

Sadly just Pubg with a friend at moment. Hoping Path Of exile Gets massive patch in August with new Acts and Templar so i can start a fresh new run.

Finished first route of Tsukihime and ngl it was pretty garbage, doubting is it even worth it starting the second
The remake on Switch?

My understanding is that it's not as good as the original, which is available for free via your browser.

I haven't read Tsukihime yet, but I thought Witch on the Holy Night was pretty damn good.

Gonna start Dying Light's The Following expansion next. I think I've only played it once and have little to no recollection.

Kinda fascinating that they took a game all about parkour and expanded it to wide open fields with very little parkouring opportunities.

I tried the demo of this and it was Ok, got a bit tedious but was interesting at the same time.

Still wakes the deep was great though, I agree.

I recently restarted The Callisto Protocol.

Got it free with PS+ and got fed up and stopped playing.

Near the end now and it's not bad really, it's just tedious - the combat is really wank and annoying plus there's no atmosphere to it.

Graphics and sound are amazing though.

Finally unlocked all the secret skaters in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 on the heels of THPS 3+4 release. Officer Dick was a real pain in the ass to unlock!

Also doing a first run of 2008's Dead Space and just offed the Leviathan. The secondary fire sucks compared to the remake and I am not really enjoying the zero G platform hopping. Outside of the Ripper for crowd control I am not seeing a reason to invest in any weapon other than the starting Plasma Cutter.

Finished off DQVIII, was a great revisit. Toriyama's art never gets old, iconic and zany characters around every corner. ❤️

Just fired up the GC version of Skies of Arcadia, sky pirates go! 😁

Let's face it, it's no Dead Space

Primarily Death Stranding 2.

Peppered in between: Mario Kart World, MLB The Show 25.
When i play a singleplayer story game i tend to be very focused on that and only play games i can pick up and put down in between for breaks if need be.

Not a chance.

The Dead Space Remake is one of the best games I've played this gen tho honestly.
And the sad state of affairs is that it'll remain the only remake or new instalment, for a long while to come...I'd be up for seeing a new motion comic even for it, if not a new game..

I finished collecting the 150 Question Panels in Mario Kart World and along the way did 311 P-Switches and found 88 Peach Coins. Was a little surprised to read that there are 394 total P-Switches and 200(!) Peach Coins.

Just MKW and Monster Train 2 atm. Tempted by THPS3+4 but I barely touched 1+2 and I'm day 1 on DK Bananza. My stepsons just beat Bowser in SM Odyssey and are excitedly diving into the post game in preparation for Bananza.

Robocop: Rogue City
Completed the tower section and made my way to the police station. Did the sidequests and the firing range. Really solid first impression of the game. I haven't seen any of the Robocop movies in quite some time, so I may watch them this weekend.

No Rest for the Wicked has just finished downloaded. Going to play that for the rest of the evening.

Having fun sending peasants from primitive worlds to be lashed / executed in the name of the God Emperor on Mankind.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

Just started System Shock 2. Pretty cool so far, but I've disabled that bloom effect since it seemed out of place here.

Also, wow, wasn't ready for the rave.

Haven't played it in over 15 years, but remember loving it dearly. The whole game is a vibe. Going to dive into this remake a bit down the line, enjoy getting called insect by our beloved Machine Mother. 😁

Got a Switch 2, but hate Mario Kart.
So I'm playing Mario Wonder.
Its good, but it feels kind of soul less? Its hard to explain, but after playing Mario games for 30+ years I expected something more.
Love the Switch 2 console tho. Excited for the rest of the year with it.

Intravenous - A top-down stealth-action game inspired by the likes of Hotline Miami, but slower and more cerebral. There aren't a lot of good sneaky-breeki games anymore, which is a shame, because they're kinda my jam. The plot's amateur-hour, but the moment-to-moment gameplay is quite satisfying once you get used to the lack of a third dimension. Plenty of opportunities to go ghost and/or non-lethal, if that's your thing.

Just finished it. It's pretty alright.

So.

Mario Kart World.

Shell Cup 150cc started testing me.
Banana Cup ended in a bronze.
Leaf Cup is fucking me up. I can't even win a race.

I'm just playing through for the character unlocks, but I intend to race all these again until I'm winning them all lol. I'm not good enough for online, and I don't have friends to play this with. So solo shenanigans it is!

Alone in the Dark (PS5)

The game is ok but the controls are total ass. I am on the last boss and it's difficult because you move so slow, even reload slow, and you can't run while reloading so you have 5 monsters coming for you plus the boss and you have no way of safely reloading while not being able to run away, it's so stupid.

Call of Duty: BO6 (PS5)

The skins have gotten downright silly in this game I mean I have the La Jaguar skin cuz I love wrestling and it's still kinda ridiculous but now with the Beavis and Butthead skins, the stupid basketball goat, dinosaurs….yikes.

Next on the list.

Obviously have played these before, just getting to play them now on PS5 that the physical version is out.

Yeah everybody was like "this is the return to form for 2D Mario" but I didn't find it very different from the NSMB series, just an evolution rather than a new take on it.

playing Fantasian Neo Dimension for few moment now.
for starter, I think it's also more final fantasy than current final fantasy games : ))
got the vibes of good old FF and golden era of square soft already

I tried it but couldn't get into it. Random battles and battle system just wasn't interesting enough for me. I can't tolerate random battles anymore unless I adore the gameplay and I wasn't enough to tolerate it.

Man, Gamefly has been killing it for me lately. Third game in a row they've delivered in 2 days after shipping.

Current game: WWE 2K25 (I have a soft spot for these and the UFC games).
Next: Soul Reaver 1 + 2 HD Collection, console port.
In the pipeline: Infinite Undiscovery (X360), The Alters (still need to play this) and Warcraft 1 and 2 HD Remasters

Going into the final boss battle in 2008's Dead Space I had 10+ large med packs, 300 plasma cutter rounds, 100 ripper blades, and 3 dozen force gun rounds ready to annihilate anything in my path as the remake really kicked my ass.

I only reloaded my Plasma Cutter once before it went down.

P.S. I think the hardest battle would be three or four of the fetus ejecting wall sprawlers with tentacles on opposite sides of a room. Two on the same wall came close to killing me multiple times. Or rather their spawn did.

EXP33, sorry fellas this its just not grabbing me. Random thoughts.

End of Act 1 and the combat is alright but everything else is just too French.

Think it's trying to be too clever for its own good.

The music is good but missing the mark? I need a breather sometimes.

Another game to go in the backlog, I dont do story based games and should know better but can see why people like it. KCD2 wipes the floor with it imo. Thats a story based game with plums.

Just started my first playthrough of Skyward Sword on the Wii U. Maybe it's because I'm experiencing this outside of its time, but I don't see what the big fuss is about. About 3 hours in and I'm loving it.

Resident Evil 4 Remake
Defeated Del Lago, grabbed my favourite handgun: Red9, and cleared out the caves.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Cleared Enchanted Dominion with Aqua.

Yeah indeed. When the game threw me a cutscene in black and white and 4:3 I realized someone on that dev team really loved to sniff his own farts.

I dropped it at the end of act 1 as well. Think the game's either overrated or just not for me.

Thats weird complain, but then again I have seen people complaining about Japanese games being too Japanese.

I never understand this type of complain.

I couldn't make it past the first 10 minutes. I read all about it being some great jrpg and all I saw was some baguette bullshit.

Adding my voice to the chorus of people who thought E33 was mediocre, baguette bullshit.

The combat was entertaining for the first few battles, but I quickly realized that it would be pretty easy to break the system and trivialize combat, which isn't fun.

I also didn't get the praise for the plot. If you play a lot of JRPGs its cliche as hell.

This might not fall into technically "playing" but I am watching Event Horizon (1997) for the first time ever, apparently it is rated as one of the most underrated sci-fi movies of all time, but also the fact that this film was a major inspiration for Dead Space which was a decade later....(2007/8) USG Ishimura meet Event Horizon, the forefather of it all... :messenger_grinning_smiling:
