What game are you currently playing?

Booted Cold Fear yesterday evening and... kinda like it. I love it when I discover one of these obscure games I missed from the PS2 gen.
The game is certainly flawed but kinda fun. Like how you have to shoot the infected heads off as they otherwise get up again.

Also, made me remember how much I miss the old era where you had these awesome CGI sequences in between the gameplay. Always felt like a high point in a game when you got to see one.
Man, can I add just how hilarious the German VA for this game is? Coupled with the B-movie plot this is comdey gold. Just laughed myself to tears.
What a fun game. Can recommend!

Arkham origins done thank god.

Trying Assetto Corsa Rally "career" but it just annoys me at the moment, way too easy to just turn round with no way of stopping so that game can fuck off for now. Really want Dirt Rally w or EA WRC to have a decent sale.

Giving Duke Zero Hour a go now and also got GT4 set up with high res packs which looks pretty decent now.

Still playing Shin Megami 5 Vengance. I was frustrated at first because I played the initial release the slight changes in the beginning were messing with my memory (like "was this in the original game or is this a change") but I'm like 50 hours in and once you hit Da'at: Shinjuku the Canon of Vengance route really does become distinct from the original game. Also playing Dragon's Dogma online on a private server off and on.

Put a Bloodborne replay on hold to dive back into the new Elden Ring: Nightreign DLC.

The new content is awesome and I'm a little shocked you got it for free with the deluxe edition. Finished the remembrance for Scholar and will be starting Undertaker now. I loving the new Nightlords and especially the new map stuff. What a win for Junya Ishizaki.

After that I'm back to trotting through the Forbidden Woods in Bloodborne. After playing so many games at 60 FPS I'm surprised at how easy it is to adjust to Bloodbornes framerate. But the game is just so good, it can't really bother me.

Hogwarts Legacy on PS5. I like it. I do wish we knew more about the protagonist though. Would have been more interesting if they started as a first year and then the game works its way up from there. Kind of like how Dragon Age 2 takes place over the span of 10 years and has several time skips. Also, Sirona Ryan can go jump in a lake. I will say this though. At least it is not top scars or pulling a barv, or nonbinary Kunari like in Dragon age 4

On the journey to platinum all old GoW games. Next one is GoW2 and then chain of Olympus.

Damn those games ages so well, better than most nowadays ones I would even say. Tight control, all gameplay no fillers, great pace, basically everything the modern games lack of.

Gotta give it to our man Jaffe, twas his prime.

I just finished Banjo Mumbomania on Dreams. It's awesome and as good as Banjo Kazooie with all the annoying things of this game improved. There are plenty of new game mechanics that are never gimmick and always fun. Game encourages exploration with clever ways of doing it.

It's really the Banjo Kazzoie 2 I always wanted (and never got with Tooie). I highly recommend it!

Well, it's about time but I'm finally clicking with Streets of Rage 4.

And I have Fight N' Herd and Shredder's Revenge on tap if I want to keep the beatemup train a-rollin'.

Played through the demo of Final Fantasy 16. I liked it a lot. Very grim and dark for a Final Fantasy. Lots of R-rated killings. Slit throats. Mutilated bodies. They even killed a chocobo which I thought was rather unnecessary and cruel. They didn't have to show that. I guess SE is aiming for a very adult and mature experience with this one. I liked the setup of the story, it left me wanting more. My only criticism was the long cut scenes and limited gameplay, which often was scripted with cinematic inputs that felt kinda boring. Sometimes I wonder if SE wants to make a movie or a game. Graphically very impressive but I wouldn't expect anything else from them.

I had the same experience and it turned out to be largely the best part of the game. It wasn't a bad game, it just wasted its potential with little to no actual RPG elements.

I bought this for my daugther on the PSN sale for £9.

Never heard of it before, but after a couple of hours we're hooked, it's got some stunning environments and really whimsical / kid friendly to play. Loving it honestly.
It's nice to just buy a random game on a whim without knowing a thing about it only to find out it's great.

Kena is awesome, and looks amazing. I was impressed how engaging the gameplay was, and it was even more difficult than I expected at times. The main story doesn't outstay its welcome unless you are going for 100%.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition had massive improvement to its UI compare to the original Wii release.

As much as I LOVE Xenoblade 2, it's UI one of the big criticism against the game.

Having only played XC:DE, but I own 2 and 3 (and will buy X:DE), what order do you think would be the best experience?

Original release order: X --> 2 --> 3
Release order: 2 --> 3 --> X
QoL/improvements: 2 --> X --> 3

Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep
I haven't played anything Borderlands since the third game released. Was getting a little bored of the series. I fancied jumping back in and heard this was a lot shorter than the other games, so decided to give it a bash. I really like the setting and the whole tabletop thing. Fighting skeletons and dragons and other monstrosities is great fun. I've gone with Axton as my character.

Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep - Finished - 8/10
Really enjoyed that. Was quite short and didn't outstay its welcome. Had a few sidequests left over but they were 'trivial' difficulty and I decided not to do 'em. I was going to try the other classes out but remembered I have Tiny Tina Wonderland on Epic so I'll play that instead.

It's one of my favorite DLCs ever, Gearbox did an incredible job with it. Top tier content, gameplay, and humor. Most of the BL2 DLC is excellent, but AoDK stands above the rest.

You want to play numbered series first before playing XCX DE because it's extra chapter it might spoil some story parts from numbered games.

Finished my second run of RE2 Remake. What a fantastic and immersive designed game, I wasn't bored for a single minute.

Now I'm going to take a clean shot to RE4 Remake and I will be fully ready before the Requiem.
