What game genres do you not like/aren't interested in?

Sports games- Microtransaction-filled, boring
MMO's- Repetitive, boring, too long
Puzzle games- Boring

Any RPG that requires squad and inventory management (or grinding for that case). I loved Nioh's combat but as soon as I progressed and realized that I had to do a bunch of crafting weapons I was out, hard.

Rogue-likes, I'd rather have linear experience where every path and item placement is deliberate rather than endless hours of randomness

Nowadays it's online multiplayer stuff, whether that's shooters, survival co-op, racing, whatever. I don't have any interest. I haven't had PS+ for awhile and I let my Switch online pass lapse.

MOBAs.
Movie games.
Team sports games (FIFA, NHL, NBA, Madden, ...).
Online-multiplayer stuff like Fortnite or Apex Legends or Overwatch.
Pseudo-MMO Looter Shooters like Destiny or The Division.

I like all genres but I don't like:

Anything superhero-related.

Anything anime-related.

Most games set in Japan.

I think I just alienated 90% of the forum

MOBA : Too many heroes, I can't get interested into something cluttered and competitive at the same time. Ends up pissing me off.

Fighting : Same reason, I want the game to be appealing the very first instant I pick it up. Not after 500 hours of practice.

Sports: I'll be doing sports in real life before playing them into a video game.

RTS : Same reason as MOBA, there's so much stuff going on I feel stressed out just thinking about it.

Anything Anime : I'll leave this art to Japan. Far too weird for me.

Survival : I'm already doing it IRL

Multiplayer FPS - I'm old and can't compete and they just stress me out.

Survival/Horror - again....they just stress me out. I get that enough with the day job :P

sports - games like nfl blitz and nba jam were awsome but the madden/fifa clones suck
fighting - though i loved tekken (6) growing up, the latest fighting games haven't done anything for me
battle royale - especially the fps battle royale games. not a fan.

Genres I don't like/don't care for:
* Strategy
* MOBA
* Roguelikes
* MMOs
* Battle Royale
* Turn-based RPGs
* Racing sims (i.e. GT, Forza)
* Most fighting games
* Most online multiplayer, GaaS-focused games

My favorite genres (for reference):
- Action-adventure (i.e. Zelda)
- Survival horror
- Stealth
- Platformer
- Action RPGs
- Puzzle
- Shooters (FPS or TPS)
- Immersive sims, Metroidvanias (both are essentially combos of a few of the above)

Almost anything thats competitive or multiplayed oriented, and also sports and racing games.

MOBAs
Looter shooters
Fighters
Strategy RPGs (tile based)
Sports
MMOs
Battle Royales
Hack n Slash looters like Diablo

There are exceptions, but overall I don't enjoy these.

Survival
Any online exclusive game
Free to play games
Movie games (most modern AAA)
Bullet hell shmup
Roguelikes
Roguelites
Any game that artificially lengthens the gameplay time with grinding, crafting, currencies, or level up systems instead of having interesting levels and objectives to play through.
visual novels

I love
Racing games (mostly arcade style)
Games with a focus on exploration
Arcade style games
God games
City simulators/economy
Theme park simulators/economy
3D platformers

I really like older game designs and not so much modern game design approaches

Online multi-player and dudebro shooters
Moba
Fighting
Sims
Racing and sport games
Battle Royale
MMO
Trendy twitch/youtube/streamer shit games

I don't like competitive games in general, so mobas or those battle royale games don't do it for me.
Except for fighting games, fucking love fighting games.
There are some lighter exceptions, I enjoyed overwatch in the beginning and iron banner in destiny 2 is enjoyable too, but I mostly stay away from most competitive stuff, coop is my jam.

Anything that tries to approach 'realism' and therefore boredom.
Like soccer games nowadays. Or sports, really.

Take a lesson from Sensible Soccer.

Anything with turnbased combat without positioning on the battlefield.

Turn based RPG, I've tried but they're not for me.
Telltale/Don't Nod style interactive videos.
Walking Sims, Gone home/Edith Finch style.
Squad based games with squad management, I prefer mass effect style squads that look after themselves.

MMOs
Man I just can't be fucked to bother. I did try FFXIV and I enjoyed what I played but I'm not paying a monthly subscription to play, and after around 10 hours I got bored out of my mind.

Sports
With the exception of racing games which fall into the category IMO I don't like sports games at all. I used to follow the EPL but even then I didn't play any sports games.

RTS
I guess you could consider MOBAs (I played LOL and will probably jump back in with Wild Rift) a offset of RTS but I've never enjoyed a RTS game.

Whatever the fuck Diablo is.

Also:

  • MOBA
  • Indie pixel-art games
  • Looter/Shooter/Slash
I don't give a fuck about your fucking LOOT! A developer just saying the word while discussing their game immediately decreases my interest. If that's the main draw of your game, fuck your game.

-Sports: I just don't care, unless it's some arcade stuff like NBA Jam which can be fun
-MMO: Because it's like an RPG except online only, more grindy and everything takes 20 times longer. Also I'm not big on multiplayer anyway and if something will feel like a second job I'd rather get paid for it.
-Everything aiming to be a simulator or realistic: Realism is boring, I'm in the real world the whole day, give me something more exciting or fantastical in my games
-Survival: It's just slow and boring.
-Visual Novel: I'd rather just read a manga or watch an anime.
-Loot games: I'd rather play stuff that's designed to be awesome to play through even the first time than games about playing the same repetitive levels over and over again to grind for loot to play the same repetitive levels at a higher difficulty.

FPS - I just don't like the first-person view, really. Any shooters I play must be in third-person.

Turned-based RPGs - I like performing all the combat myself.

Puzzle games - They just get boring for me quickly.

Platform : I can't stand it. The whole "miss a jump and start again" is not for me.
Sports (including racing): I don't like sports
I saw Fbh Fbh mentionning "Everything aiming to be a simulator or realistic", I'll put it also for the exact same reason.

That must be the 3 main ones.
After there is some I am not that interested but not against trying/playing from time to time :

Visual novel
FPS
Puzzle
Horror
Looter
MOBA
Battle Royal
