For me it's Portal & Adaptive Triggers.

Remote Play used to be something that I would test out every once in awhile but never became something that I would actually use for hours a day playing games but Portal pretty much let you forget that you're using Remote Play. You just turn it on login & play .

Adaptive Triggers didn't seem important at 1st but now it feels strange when games don't use them.

SSD, triggers and loading times are good examples but I can't point to a signature feature that's my favorite this gen, I think gen 6, and 7 were clearly rare things like DVD, online, party chat, eye toy, motion the list goes on those gens were god like.

SSD, but since I also have a gaming pc is not something really new to me. On the other hand haptic feedback and adaptative triggers are such a cool new experience to me. I love when games use them.

Quick resume is awesome for games of a certain type.
I have Midnight Club Los Angeles in a quick resume slot and whenever I feel like it I can just click it and I'm on the road driving in three seconds.

LFC is also a welcome addition to the VRR implementation on Xbox. Xbox One S/X didn't have that, so it was really only useful from 40 to 60.

SSD and fast loading. Complete game changer. Well integrated Dualsense features have also been a highlight. Very immersive when done right.

Game streaming via GFN is by far the best new feature. It's not even close to me. I get to play PC games at max settings at 4K without breaking the bank.

Tha ability to play second and third party games almost exclusively
Nintendo Company Limited, Sony Interactive Entertainment Incorporated and Microsoft Corporation thank you for your recent $70 purchase, 100% of which will go exclusively to them.

SSD and Dualsense controller. Without these two upgrades, you're basically still having a last gen experience, outside of better frame rates and higher resolution.

Consoles finally getting SSD storage and load times to go with that (hated Bloodborne for that on PS4), and adaptive triggers I guess.

Also just happy to see the hybrid portable form factor with the Switch still going, and the new machine coming next year should look better on 4k tvs.

Extremely fast or non-existent load times, 60 fps being mostly a norm, and Dualsense implementation when utilized well.

Basically this gen in a nutshell for me.

Not really into using the new hot features I just play games. I have a weird phobia about Quick Resume and performance that regardless of what reality is I see it as being detrimental to the experience. Like a game suspended will cause other titles to perform like shit, or perform like shit themselves when resumed. I have tried it several times and it worked flawlessly but I soon went back to old habits. I would like to add a PlayStation Portal to my collection however. Would be neat to have access to my PS5 while traveling or even in another room without the huge footprint of a TV etc.

I agree with you, both Portal and Dualsense exceeded my expectations.

Playing Returnal or Astrobot without trigger feedback diminishes the experience a lot.

Switch - I like how the auto complete on the shop is more gaming focused.

I cant say the hybrid feature since I only play it docked since the switch is godawful as an actual handheld.

PS5 - fast loading times I guess. For my uses it's just a souped up PS4 really and none of the dual sense features have stood out to me.

Strangely for me the fast loading just seems natural like it's the way things are supposed to be lol . I pretty much forgot about the fast loading.
It became natural to me too until I had to use last gen stuff abroad. Then the loading was noticable and unbearable.
