was 3x more powerful than the GC. You have access to every game in the nintendo catalog with a pay to play pricing structure, (monthly, bi-monthly or yearly) gives you access too all of the games in their catalog. The only games that have a cost would be GC, DS, GBA and Revolution games. All other systems would be accessible through the revolution and access to all Nintendo published games. Furthermore they provide an easy to use tool that allows you to make changes to the games and save them to a HD. You then can upload the games for people to play (free with subscription). The revolution is this, Nintendo makes the 1st party games and the third party becomes the consumer. That'd be a revolution I'd say.

Game publishers are not going to give gamers the ability to modify their IP, plain and simple.

Best case scenario I can see is something like the PS2 Linux Kit for Revolution. They'll let gamers submit little games, they'll look at and reject offhand the vast majority of it, and the best of the best will get put through QA and offered as downloads. But they are not going to let you take games like Mario and Zelda and alter them in any way.

"Super Mario Maker"
Make you're own Mario game, trade levels with your freinds, use "Mario Artist" to create your own worlds, characters, items and backgrounds.

That's about as far as I see something like that going...and the SD compatibility makes it more plausible.

I think what's going to be difficult for Nintendo is making the system appeal to retailers/rentailers who may worry that people will buy a Revolution to download games over their network instead of buying games in their store...could be a problem maybe.

it would be cool if the next 3d mario game has a level builder, and you can upload your levels and download other peoples levels... maybe even create a series of levels with a story and goals that links the levels together.

that "spore" game has me all interested in games that let users create content for each other and share over the internet. I think a mario game would be perfect for it.

I think Animal Crossing did, and will continue to do, just that. Say hello to my Fuck You clothing line.
