What import sites mark down orders for you and which don't?

Coming from the UK, prices of imports are a big factor in importing at all (besides the games which don't come out here). Hence its always useful to know your chances of avoiding customs taxes which can render a game more expensive than buying it over here.

I know that videogamesplus and yesasia mark it down for u and label it as gift.

I know that lik-sang do NOT.

How about play-asia? Any other good sites?

Also I heard that one company ammasses all its orders for one country into one lot and send it all at once, where it is then distributed from its distribution base in that country. This method means it swallows up all the VAT charges for you and has no risk of customs tax. This may be YesAsia or it may be another, not sure.

Any advice? Its reached the point where I think 99% of games I buy for my handhelds will be imported.

Having lived in the UK a few years ago, I feel your pain. Play-Asia labelled my games as a worthless gift when I ordered from them, but it was a while ago so I'm not sure if they still do that. Having said that -- Lik-Sang's customer service has always been a good deal better to me than Play-Asia's, so you might just want to ask them. Seems stupid of them to lose a sale over something that totally screws you; I remember ordering an N64 game YEARS ago from EB, paying a ridiculous amount in shipping, and then getting slapped with a bill for almost double on top of that in taxes.

YesAsia re-ship from within Britain so it might be those you're thinking of. Never used them myself so I don't know what they're like.

Play-Asia used to mark everything down, but these recent few months all my import-buying buddies have gotten their shit held up by customs as P-A apparently just stopped doing it. Haven't ordered anything for months myself, but it seems like P-A's period of greatness might be over. My friend bought SF3 and the customs charges added up to like 10% more than the price of the fuckin' game...I don't think I'd want to order from them anymore. :(

Confirmation of this happening. On every single one of my last 3 Play-Asia orders, I've been hit with fucking customs. I have no idea why they've stopped marking the prices down & the item as a "Sample", but it's pissing me off. Fucking Canadian customs. I'm seriously considering moving all my business over to YesAsia, especially since a lot of their regular edition games are even cheaper than P-A, plus they give you free shipping.

Play Asia gave me the shaft as well...

got hit by over 120$AU of customs and GST tax on my PSP + 2 games import.

The first I realised there was any problem was when the tracker information told me it had been stalled... :/

I didn't want to start a new thread for this YesAsia-related question.

For those of you who've ordered from YesAsia before, are they good about sending out pre-order limited edition goods? Recent examples would be things like the DVDs included with Kagero 2 and Project Zero 3 or the cellphone strap for Minna Daisuki KD. And I'm mostly referring to when you order before the items are released because I know usually if you order after the release date, you won't get them.
