What is a worst Mario game ever?

I only played a few moments of Hotel Mario (which seemed like an elevator action knockoff) and my only experience with the edutainment titles was Nintendo Power, but from actual games made for Nintendo systems where you play Mario to have fun (or try) my choice is Yoshi's Safari. It doesn't have Mario in the title, but you play as him astride Yoshi's back in the simplest, easiest light gun shooter I have ever played. It includes token platforming and all the enemies are from other Mario games. It was, however, the last appearance of the Koopa Kids I am aware of until Mario & Luigi.
Oh, come on -- you shoot Mario enemies! With a GUN! That's got to count for something.

Super Mario World

or

Yoshi's Island.

That's all folks.

You're talking about best mario games right...cause if you're not, I think you deserve a good beatin'.

As for the worst mario game, it has to be Mario's Time Machine. I couldnt even figure out what the game was supposed to be...

Out of the main Mario titles, SMB2 (Doki Doki Panic) is my personal least favorite. Even when I was 5, I would play SMB1 or SMB3; I hardly ever played SMB2. I think the game also freaked me out a bit though. Especially when that crazy mask thing would like fly around the board after you.

Sunshine, still a nice game while it lasted though. But i can see my self playing it again and half of the levels missed that mariomagic.

If we're not counting the Mario-related titles, such as Mario is Missing and Hotel Mario, SMS is definitely the worst. Not a horrible game, but certainly the most bland and least inventive one in the series, IMO. I had to force myself to finish it, though I've never felt that way with any of the other 'real' Mario games.

The warp levels really save Sunshine. Damn that was some platforming goodness.

I haven't played crap like Mario Is Missing, so out of the main series, I guess SMB2. I have fun with all the Mario games though.

Why don't we get music as good as Yoshi's Island in Mario games anymore anyway? :(

Of the platformers I would say SMB2, still a decent game but not in the same league as the others. Except for Sunshine that is, never played it.
