Love this controller and I've tried retiring it a couple times, but nothing else I have tried feels as good as this does. I bought a couple extras (still sealed :messenger_beaming:) to have when the one I'm currently using eventually fails me or the sticks get drifted, etc. Everything about it is damn near perfect to me. I even bought a dongle so I can use it with any console that has USB ports.
sealed backups are the best (i do this too), but you also buy replacement x360 parts.

i used zed labz for replacement analog sticks after mine became deformed from decades of use.

no controller is perfect but the ones i found best even with their flaws are.

1. Dualsense
2. xbox one
3. nacon Revo unlimited pro
4. gamecube
5. Switch 2 Pro controller

Idk if it's the best i've used but i still love the gamecube controller to this day.
People laughed at this but the Wavebird was the first time I held a controller and was absolutely blown away by it. Wireless controllers before that were all third party, laggy, unreliable, expensive, etc and then Nintendo comes out with this and changes the game completely.

It's obvious that it is XBOX and they have been on top since they released the Controller S on OG XBOX. Last gen what I missed the most (having not owned an XBOX ONE) was the controller.

However, my heart and hands say:

The Xbox Elite and Nintendo Pro Controllers have been outstanding for me.

Super comfortable controller but I was not a big fan of the button layout and on top of that the bumpers were ridiculously too clicky for my liking. Still a great controller though. I loved the xbox series s controller back in the day. It was a welcome improvement over the gargantuan xbox duke controller lol.

Best controller objectively Dual Sense but my favourite is the Wii U Pro controller. The analog stick positions made so much sense compared to the Switch Pro controllers.

I had written SNES and I still believe that to be true, but the new Switch 2 pro controller is really coming close to taking over. The more I use it the more this controller goes up in my rankings.

Dual sense for ps5. Really comfortable in my hands.

I like the ui and shortcuts on ms better. Feels like the Xbox controller is more responsive especially when pressing and accessing the home menu. Its a small thing but it made an impression on me

1. DualSense
2. 360
3. Switch 2 Pro

Honorable Mention: DS4. It's a lot lighter than DualSense or any Xbox controllers which is really nice for long sessions.

Switch 2 Pro Controller.

The fit in my hands is just perfect.

It could do with two more back buttons, analogue triggers, and hall-effect joysticks though.

The Guilikit KingKong 3 is close, but the whole thing is a bit too small.

The DualSense has fantastic features (at the expense of battery life), but it quite simply does not fit my hands. I can't use one for more than half an hour, and that is the point where it gets too painful.

The 360 controller is the best. Easily.

You can beat the hell out of it and it won't break.
It doesn't have stupid touchscreens or gimicks.
The sticks are where they should be.
The size is perfect.
I still use it on PC today.

The Xbox 360 controller lasted me 10 years before it started breaking apart. The foam parts around the sticks started to come apart last year on both sticks. So I threw it away. Also the front plate started coming off from the thing.

Nintendo controllers have ALWAYS been too-small plastic toys.

Your rose coloured glasses and Nintendo fanboyism (stemming from aforementioned glasses) doesn't change that.

The only reason xbox uses asymetrical sticks was so it wouldnt JUST be a dualsense. If you think thats better, its literally just because you had an xbox instead of a PS3.

Sony is the only one making premium controllers for adults.

Probably the latest 8 bit do Ultimate controller, it's just perfect. I actually have the Xbox Elite Series 2 as well, and I just genuinely prefer the 8 bit do Ultimate 2, which is insane considering the price difference between the two.

I've recently ordered this thing for my sega games. Anyone has it/used it? How is it?
Yeah I have one for my raspberry pi which is my elumation machine. Build quality isnt quite as nice as their ultimate controllers - but having six face buttons is essential and I dont want to have a full on arcade stick.

DualShock 4 is still my GOAT. That shape, layout and buttons are simply perfect for my hands. If it only had USB-C, hall effect sticks and better triggers it would be my endgame controller.

8Bitdo Ultimate 2 is pretty decent as well. Shame the build quality went backwards on this release in otherwise a brilliant controller.

PlayStation controllers have always been good ( six axis not withstanding). Also most of Nintendo and Xbox's controllers have been good, with the exception of the duke. The only controller I didn't like for a system I owned would probably be the dreamcast controller.

If I had to pick one controller as my favorite though, it'd be the dual sense.

10 years? Possibly a thousand hours of gaming, or more? For $50?
Seems pretty solid to me.

Xbox One controller was perfection, with the newer 360 controller being a runner up. PlayStation controllers I prefer for fighting games, but the analogue stick placement isn't ideal for FPS games.

Prolly the dualshock 3 shit just worked

-edit-

Madcatz TE1 fucking sanwa parts controller love it

My big brother convinced me this was the "best" controller when we were little kids. And like a loyal bro I believed him

Its only in hindsight I realize he was a lying bastard.

Personally I am pretty basic with most controllers and best mix of size and features is Dual Sense.

I have Xbox Elite 2, a few 8bitdo ones, regular Xbox from OG to Series, Gamesir and so on.

Still, base Dual Sense is the most comfortable and haptics are awesome in games that properly support them.

I just wish it had couple buttons in the back for mapping L3 and R3 but I am not paying $200 for that and reduced battery life.

I only used the PS5 Dualsense one when playing at my sister house and the haptics and adaptive triggers are enough to place it as my favorite. I don't think I would have enjoyed Spiderman 2 anywhere near as much if it weren't for the controller.
