Its interesting to see LTK listed as people's favorite. Its a fine film, dont get me wrong, and does the vengeful Bond angle better than QoS did, but at the same time, it feels so out of place in the Bond film canon to me.

Oh, no no no it doesn't! Bond has far less depth in that, and the nature of his revenge is much more simplistic. In QoS, you can see Bond being eaten alive by his greif every time he slows down enough to think about it. It's what keeps him going in the film-- avoiding that grief.

Best Bond: For me, Casino Royale, but QoS is a contender. I don't count it because almost all movies lose their shine with time if you really love them on first viewing. I really loved QoS.

Casino Royale, OTOH, has withstood several viewings as is still great. If I can say the same thing about QoS in two years, it might be that.

After that, Goldfinger I think. FRWL is pretty darned good, as is Thunderball, Goldeneye, and For Your Eyes Only, OHMSS, and (if I remember it well enough) the Living Daylights.

My personal favorite is Goldeneye. Though I'm pretty sure that perspective has been colored by the game a bit. Still, Sean Bean as Alec Trevelyan is fucking awesome, as is Xenia Onatopp.
Yeah I played the game first, then I saw the movie and I was like "OMGWTFBBQ, these guys are perfect!" :p So I may be bias in saying I think Goldeneye was the best. I actually haven't seen Casino Royale yet... maybe I'll see it tonight. I hate how they keep changing actors though. It really ruins the experience for me :S

It's a close race between From Russia With Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Casino Royale for me. Casino Royale comes out on top because of Vesper. :)

Live and Let Die will always rank number one for me. Followed by The Man With the Golden Gun. But I mentally separate the franchise into 'Bond Movies', 'Pierce Brosnan and his Shitty Friends', and 'Not Really Bond'. Loved Goldeneye and Casino Royale; have yet to see Quantum of Solace but I expect it will be great.

But when I think James Bond, I think Live and Let Die.

For Your Eyes Only.

It has the best initial set up and the movie has, Mountain Climbling, Skiing, Hockey, Car Chases, Diving, Boats, Ship and Warehouse battle, A damn good theme song, 2 Lotus Esprits, one of the hottest women in the series, and Bond is a callous bad ass.

For me, as a fan of the books & the films, the best Bond movies are the first three--Dr. No, From Russia With Love, & Goldfinger. Reason being, I feel that Bond truly belongs in the era he was written; he is a figure of the cold war. Though there have been plenty of successful modern interpretations, they're just that--interpretations. For me, Bond has the most integrity in his own time, where he's accented by the styles, the music, the misogyny, the women, & the life of an old-school spy.

That said, I enjoy the series as a whole & my second favorite Bond is Dalton, who might've had the top spot if only he'd had more time. Other stand-out films are The Living Daylights, Casino Royale, & License to Kill. Seeing Quantum in an hour, so can't report on that yet.

Casino Royale

Goldeneye

They both take a streaming pile on every bond since Dalton. Bonds before Dalton, never saw them, bits and bits, always thought they looked lame by the time i got around to see them so won't judge them.

Saw a Roger Moore bond once, yuck.
