What is the Pure White Gamecube

I was in Super Potato Osaka yesterday, and they had an official Pure White Gamecube for sale... sale price was over 1000 USD. The box, the system, everything was black and white.

What is this? Where/When was it released?

No. Hanshin Tigers gamecubes are striped. This one looked like the pure white xbox... Same plastic as a white DS or gba.

No.. it wasnt that. Completely different.

Same idea on the color; however the box for the system was a regular gamecube with player box... EXCEPT it was entirely grayscale.

I used to deal in rare systems on eBay, and I have NEVER seen this thing before. I cant find any information on it in Japanese or English.

Just a description...

BOX - Regular Gamecube/GB Player box - except it is completely grayscale.

SYSTEM - A bit whiter than the crystal white. GB Player is black.

Controller was not in view.

System price as a little over 1000 USD. Keep this in mind before talking about bundle packs... this is much much much rarer than that.

Keep in mind the rarest GC bundle pack commonly found is the MG Twin Snakes that sells for on 180-190 USD.

Thats it.. but I ignored the link because it is actualled called the Pure White Gamecube. The crystal white is the FF Chronicles edition.

Maybe that isnt it: the 150 unit notation makes sense... but that seems it was announced the same day as the crystal white. So whoever wrote that story may have been confused. Damnit I want to know what this is! Ill keep looking in Japanese.

and boom goes the dynamite. That is it. The system was sitting in front of the FFCC logo, so I couldnt see it in the display case.

Is that yours? How did you get it and how many were made? What magazine were they given away with?

I also thought the GB Player was black.... memory must be going.

The GB player was only Black in the states because NOA sucks.
(See: Puzzle Collection)
In Japan they were all colors including one for the Q.

I always wanted a Q. Too bad they aren't cheap, and to my knowledge not universal.

I know that. I live in Japan.

I thought the pure white limited we are talking about shipped with a black GBPlayer.

I want this gamecube to go with my Panzer Dragoon white xbox.

Thanks for your pointless post. Please collect your check of $0.00 at the door.
You're not seriously thinking of paying $1000 for a GC are you?

Honestly, who cares about a "pure white" version of a dead console?

Yes I am pondering it. If it is still in the store in a month or two, I might buy it.

I collect/sell rare systems. Hence the previously stated (but bought at retail price) Panzer Dragoon Xbox.

Yeah those white suckers go high on Yahoo! Japan auction too. I sent a lot of postcards for it but never won it :-/ I think it was Dengeki or Jump...cant remember

Ugh, Pearl White is not my thing. Now, if that was a nice non-gloss bone white, that would look really pleasing to my eyes. But this glossy pearl reminds of me cheap styrofoam for some reason. Like the kind you get when you buy ground beef.

you know, i tried so hard to get one of those when they came out. i figured all hope was lost, but i just checked ebay, and sure enough, a few of them are up for sale there.

ARGH.

so f'n tempting

edit: and play asia has it in stock for 189. JESUS. i could buy a gamecube+gbplayer and pay less...

Granted, $1000 for a "dead" (uh, no) console, is a bit.. much, but it's a great collector's item.

If nintendo actually releases a yellow one here in the states, they truly haven't learned anything. :lol

No no, if the release a yellow one as the main color (which they won't -- it will be white, black, or silver), then they haven't learned anything. If they release one later on (along with other colors), it will just boost sales.

Revolution color at it's brightest spot:
198/255 - 78% RED
216/255 - 85% GREEN
082/255 - 32% BLUE

Green color codes:
000/255 - 0% RED
255/255 - 100% GREEN
000/255 - 0% BLUE

Yellow color codes:
255/255 - 100% RED
255/255 - 100% GREEN
000/255 - 0% BLUE

Differences between Green and Yellow:
100% RED
0% GREEN
0% BLUE

I would have to say that it is more yellow than it is green. It was close boys, but yellow it is. :)

BOOM.

From now on, if there are any color arguments, just call Ruzbeh to break it down.

Wow. Nintendo should've gone with this color scheme from the start.... looks fantastic.

What are you, colorblind? That looks fugly.

That Crystal White GC is the sexiest console ever though.

The white looks nice, but I'd kill for a hot pink version. Or even just regular pink

And :lol:lol at the tampon comment and the replies

I concur.

For Revolution though, I want that red one. I thought before that I wanted black or silver, and while they look nice, I think I want some character.

The decision to have a blue light eminating from the Rev. regardless of the console color seems a bit odd to me. It should be designed to glow in a way that's coordinated to the shell outside.
