What is/was your major in College?

First Philosophy.

Then English.

Then Education, which sucked massively.

Yeah, couldn't quite make up my mind.

Philosophy
English

I actually wouldn't call philosophy "useless." It's actually quite a good start for law school, something which I plan to pursue.

*dies inside*

It was Computer Engineering for 2.5 years.

Now it's Translation (Portuguese-English)/Creative Writing.

I win total.

Electioneering!

err

Political Science

--edit--
I can't believe there are no other PolySci majors on this board... *looks at the political discussion* ... wait, I guess I can ;)

Hehe yeah after working a C.S. job for a while while I was studying it I came to the conclusion that if i continued with that career i was going to go home one day and drink a bottle of bleach. So I just took GER's until i found something else I was interested in.

Accounting.

I was an e-Commerce major for a while, but I bailed on that. Turned out that most of the subjects offered in that crossed over into the accounting degree, but it was far more reputable.

CS Major. I like the major alot so I won't switch out of it anytime soon. The CS program in my school demands alot... so I've been studying alot this semster. Programming is a cake for me since I programmed my first 2 years in my old community college and now entering uni this semester... I'm even getting better at Math. I could'nt had said that to anyone 2 years ago.

Economics with a 2nd Major in Finance. Found out 2 years into Uni that Economics isnt really my thing... it was far too late to change then though : \

Undergrad, Business, and I was trying for a dual major in Geology. But after 4 years I was a couple classes short in Geology (since I started late trying for it). Instead, I went on to Grad school, got an MBA in Finance.

Journalism, considering getting a second degree in in Photocommunications since if I work things out right, it'll only be an extra semester or two.

started as a Bio-Med

now I'm a Anthropology (emphasis in Archeology) major, with a minor in Business. That way if it turns out Archeo isn't what I want to do with my life, I got business. And I always have law school if those don't pan out (though I've come to grow quite fond of my soul...)

I was in Computer Science in university, but then I realized that it wasn't for me. I like the logic, but I don't like the programming.

So now I'm in college (going back to school this week after the 3 week teacher's strike) taking Business Administration - Accounting. It's sooooo easy compared to university. I chose it because I like things being in their right place and mathematics.

Computer crap.

I actualy like it. Thank goodness I got out of programming though.

Do you computer science/engineering guys hate it that much? I actually quite enjoyed my year in CS, before I switched to biochemistry. Programming is fun, though I have absolutely no talent for it.

I think working in IT is depressing studying it is OK.

If you like math you should do a major with higher level math.

B.E. in electrical engineering with minor in computer engineering; graduating this May.

classes weren't so bad if you have some good skill in math and physics. this semester, i just took courses in semiconductor physics and electromagnetism as an elective (not required for the degree) but it didn't seem so bad, although solid-state physics is dicking me up the ass pretty badly. my school focused a lot on communication systems for EE majors, but i had more interest in semiconductor design and such; probably should've majored in physics but EE seems to be more "useful" in some sense....

Civil Engineering.

Physics and good Math skills are essential. Some Chemistry too but not much. You have to know Statics, Mechanics, and usually some Dynamics.

I was in Business Administration with an option in Advertising, but then I realized I didn't want to kill myself before the age of 30 so I took a chance with my parents hating me and transfered to an art school.

So I am now studying Interior Design in SF. :)
