what jrpg are you playing right now ?

Playing Ni No Kuni here and there. I like the atmosphere and the characters so far but I wish the battle system wasn't kinda like Pokemon. I hate collecting monsters that i'll eventually have to ditch/change out in the middle of battle.

I think I just miss Dragon Quest 8.

A bit of FFX-2 but mostly Tales of Graces F - been playing it for months and still haven't 100%ed it yet, what a great Tales game. Yeah, yeah the story is what it is, but it's all about the gameplay.

Seriously, I can't wait to get a new PS3 and start a new playthrough. I just realized I won't be able to do a grade-shop'd NG+ since I obviously lost my saves with the last PS3 I had but eh, it's fun enough to do a fair second playthrough. Unless I find a way to get a finished game save file to work.

I've got sooo much jrpg's on my backlog. I'm almost done with raidou 1, and afterwards may go for raidou 2.

I'm also on my way to getting the last badge in poke heartgold, and maybeee start up dq6 and finish it afterwards.

My ff11 sub will end on June 2. hnnnngh. ff14 is coming in august, and then...GOTY 2013 Rome 2. hnnnnnngh

I really want to finish Vesperia but I cant bring myself to relearn the combos and rhythm after not playing it for a year. I think I'm around 60 percent done.

You know, it may just be me, but everytime I play a tales game, I seem to never get those 'special' super combos done.

I stick with one skill, then whenever another one unlocks, or the current one I'm using maxes out, I switch.

On one of my Vesperia playthroughs, I spent a fair amount of time mastering Judith and her aerial combos. Felt really satisfying to keep them up high and helpless.

And then on a more recent playthrough, I completely forgot what I had learned and stuck with Yuri.

Resumed Fire Emblem:Awakening after seeing a friend post about it on Facebook. Never got to finish due to Etrian Odyssey 4 coming out, so I need to correct that!

Started playing Resonance of Fate again after playing it for about 30 hours a couple years ago, no idea why I stopped. Anyways, I'm completely lost and have totally forgotten what the hell I'm doing.

I dropped Vesperia (but hey, I got farther in it than the last time I tried) and picked up Wild Arms 3 again thanks to this thread. This is another one I haven't beaten, and playing it now I'm not sure why... I'm loving it! (Strained "birds!" and "wings!" and "flying!" metaphors aside. Lookin' at you, Virginia.) I had this idea WA3 was a crazy-long game, but my roommate's clear file is only about 30 hours so it obviously can't be that lengthy. I wonder what gave me that impression.

IT'S TIME TO FLY!

As for the time, it's worth noting that the clock does not go up when you're in menus, so that could cut the time down some. But the game isn't super long, no.

Sadly none, waiting for one of the good psp rpgs I missed out to be available or on sale through ps + on my vita.

I tried FFT war of the lions but I just didn't like the drop or job system.

Doing a nightmare run of Ys: The Oath in Felghana and getting my ass handed. Thinking of picking up again Radiant Historia, I didn't finish it the first time around.

Playing The Last Remnant. The game isn't nearly as bad as I've heard some say. It has some problems, but it's still a fun game.

Giving up on Persona 3 after another try, the whole school thing just isn't for me.

Will try getting into FF9 again today, its the only PS1 and after mainline FF that I haven't finished.

If Fire Emblem counts, I'm playing Fire Emblem Awakening, and will soon hopefully be playing Fire Emblem Path of Radiance on my GC.

Yeah, most of the complaints about the game are about the 360 version. If those people would give the PC version a shot, they'd find a much more enjoyable game.

Just finished the main story of Tales of Graces f and started the future arc. Playing Graces so close to Xillia's release was probably a bad idea; I felt all Tales-ed out hours before the end. Also in the middle of a lengthy sabbatical from Fire Emblem: Awakening, which is a great JRPG to jump in and out of because there's not a whole lot to forget (as opposed to something like Xenoblade, which I played 50+ hours of and then dropped suddenly almost a year ago).

Persona 3 FES. Gem of a game.

But 2 things:

1. I'm still figuring it out the social links and the arcana system...i do not know where to see wich arcana type my personas belongs.

2. I can't equip my party members, just me?

Just finished Wild ARMs 2. I did a lot of the optional content but decided not to take on the superbosses. I have too many other games to get to. I clocked around 37 hours, some of that was idle time. I haven't decided if I like it more or less than Wild ARMs, the first thing that sticks out in my mind is that I didn't really care for the world map of Wild ARMs 2, if that makes sense.

I have Grandia 2 and 3 in the mail, those will be the next RPGs I get to, probably.

Drakengard.

Well, I'm trying anyway. I'm having that problem where, I play Drakengard, and I grow kind of bored of it, and think, "Well, I mean, I rather play Nier..." So then I play Nier.

Drakengard is not a good game to begin with. It's tedious and clunky on all levels. It's rare, but I'd rather read that one particular "what is drakenguard" (it's a huge ass, but very interesting lets play as text).

Wife took the 3ds and with her so I had to stop my playthrough of project x zone.
Picked up PSV figured I should really play Tales of Hearts R, my DS version is still untouched...

Around three hours into the Last Story. I forgot what I was doing when I got to about CH10 or so and decided to start over. Enjoying it much more now that I took the time to actually understand the play mechanics. I love the big city and am really digging the characters. I have listened to the soundtrack way too many times, so it's nice to finally play the game that goes with it. I think I have a winner on my hands with this one.

Also, P3P. It's so addictive. Just one more floor man...gotta get another Persona for fusion.

Actually balancing Blue Dragon and Ni No Kuni at the moment.

Persona 3. Does this game ever fucking end?

I know the feeling, but try not to think of it as ending the game. The moment you start thinking about a jrpg that way is the moment you begin cheating yourself out of a potentially great experience. Just enjoy the experience. If you start to feel like you're in a rush to finish it, it will only make the game feel progressively worse the longer you play. At least that's how it is with me. Many times I find myself wishing I had never finished certain jrpgs just so I can experience them like new again.

Devil Survivor Overclocked. Never did finish Yuzu's route in the original, did that first here and was impressed at how well hinted at secrets about the other routes.

I also cannot believe how much variance there is in this game. I skipped a bunch of events related to investigating the summoning server and the PSE laws, and the characters dialogues reflected this! And I just found out that there's a way to tick off Midori so that she teams up with Kaido and Black Frost to take on the party!

I think this is what's going to happen with me with this game. It's just one of those jrpgs you'll stop, then play again much, much later on

To figure out which arcana hit triangle, go to personas, hit x, andbthen pick a persona. It should say its arcana somewhere near its name, I think it's right below but don't have it in front if me. You must still be pretty early on so Orpheus is fool, pixie is lovers, and apsaras is priestess. Look for those words on their status page.

To equip other characters talk to them on the first floor of tartarus or once you are in tartarus. Choose status/equip, etc.

arghhh. I think the tales series is the threshold for that kind of style for me.

hyperdimension and atelier games are a bit...ehhhhh.

haven't played them though, so I'm giving a prejudiced statement at the get go due to their artstyle

Playing ni no kuni atm. While I love the characters, music, gameplay and graphics I find that the game tends to hold your hand far too often, making the game way easier than it already is.
